Casa Rosa Gran Hotel Boutique

This is a small and welcoming property just across from the cathedral. It is therefore perfectly situated for the traveler to explore the historic city center of Puebla. The important museums are in walking distance as well as the better known restaurants. The hotel itself has been recently renovated with an eye to stylish decor, but to keeping the charm of the historic building. My room was small, but comfortable; the linens are above average for central America; the bathroom was spacious and well appointed. Recommended for singles and couples, especially.

When I arrived the front desk clerk was with a friend on the couch. I was ignored until I rang the bell! Totally unprofessional! Then She kept telling me my reservation had been cancelled! I had to show her a recent email confirming the reservation and that it was paid for.

The room was clean, super quiet. The elevator was not in service. Great location

Stayed in the executive room with a balcony terrace… that’s pretty much what you’re paying for. If you’re not paying for that, find somewhere else to stay. Wifi doesn’t work, tv’s don’t work. Elevator will be not usable from 10 am - 10 pm because of the restaurant. Location can’t be beat.

Great location, easy access to main attractioons

Excellent location right in the middle of all activities and historical sites.

The hotel is right across the street from the cathedral, so you are in a great location. Don't miss getting a drink at the amazing rooftop bar/restaurant. I have taken two stars off because: 1. In our second floor room, there was an awning on the window. While good for keeping the hot sun from getting in the room, we couldn't see the cathedral unless we got down on your knees. So, effectively, there was no view. 2. The room had been booked by a guide service that was paying for it. When we arrived, they said a deposit had been paid for the first of two nights, and asked for payment, in advance, for the second night charge. We asked if they could wait until we checked out, as our guide would be paying. It seemed they agreed. When we came back to the room in the middle of the day after our first night, the key didn't work. Turns out they had locked us out of our room and wouldn't let us in until we paid for the second night, in advance. There was clearly poor communication here, and some of that may be due to our lack of Spanish, but I have stayed in hundreds of hotels, and never been locked out of my room as leverage to get me to pay for a night in advance. This was simply atrocious customer service for a hotel of this caliber.

The hotel is located in the heart of the historic city center. Directly across is the Puebla Cathedral and there are many choices of food and things to do within walking distance. The hotel was small and comfortable. Staff was friendly. If you are taking large luggage then you will have to use the elevator but it only fits 3 people max. The stairs are very narrow so carrying something large will be more difficult. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable. The WiFi was incredibly slow and not useful during my stay. The TV took a while to connect to the cable box. The hot water did take a while to get going but once it got hot it remained that way.
