Larimar Gallery y Hotel Boutique

First time to Oaxaca and we found an oasis in Centro. The Larimar Gallery/Hotel Boutique is located a short walk to the Zokolo, city center, and near hundreds of restaurants and shops. Walking in to the Larimar is like stepping out of the city and into a calm and artistic resting place. The rooms are unique, some with more amenities than others, and we had the Frida Kahlo suite. A king size bed, spacious room, corner windows, tv, a/c and a large bathtub with an open shower. The Manager, Dulce Mendes, greeted us at the door, gave us a tour of the amenities in our room, and offered assistance as needed. For evening relaxing, there is a rooftop bar where you can bring drinks and snacks and listen to the sounds of Oaxaca. Would we return to the Larimar......absolutely!!! Primera vez en Oaxaca y encontramos un oasis en el Centro. El Larimar Gallery/Hotel Boutique está ubicado a pocos pasos de Zokolo, el centro de la ciudad y cerca de cientos de restaurantes y tiendas. Entrar al Larimar es como salir de la ciudad y entrar en un lugar de descanso tranquilo y artístico. Las habitaciones son únicas, algunas con más comodidades que otras, y tuvimos la suite Frida Kahlo. Una cama king size, habitación espaciosa, ventanas esquineras, televisión, aire acondicionado y una gran bañera con ducha abierta. La gerente, Dulce Mendes, nos recibió en la puerta, nos dio un recorrido por las comodidades de nuestra habitación y nos ofreció asistencia según fuera necesario. Para relaj**** por la noche, hay un bar en la azotea donde puede traer bebidas y refrigerios y escuchar los sonidos de Oaxaca. ¿Volveríamos al Larimar... absolutamente!!!

Hotel is charming as is the hotelier who greets and generally takes care of a guest's stay.Modern bathrooms and use of a communal kitchen, overall bright, light and clean with a roof terrace overlooking towers of nearby Dominican monastery complex. Only comment is sheets appeared to be not cotton and feel slippery. Breakfast is delicious, prepared to order on the roof terrace. Delightful staff. Overall helpful and right in the center within walking distance of good restaurants and great museum.

Our stay at this hotel was really great. The location was perfect, the room and bed very comfortable and the staff was amazing. Dulce arranged tours, dinner reservations, cooking classes and anything else we asked of her. We loved our stay in Oaxaca and at this hotel.

The property and the rooms of this place are beautiful. Well sized recently renovated rooms are comfortable and a great place to lay your head. Morning breakfast on the rooftop is magical as you listen to the sounds of Oaxaca City waking up. The owner of this establishment is gold and goes above and beyond (even waking up at 4:30am to make sure you get your taxi to airport) to make your stay is great. The location is as good as it gets in El Centro and everything is in walking distance. I've stayed in quite a few places in Oaxaca City. I'll be staying here from now on.

Great location in the center of Oaxaca, yet a bit away from the noise, hustle and bustle. Quick, less than 5 minute walk to all of the key restaurants and main attractions. Property is clean, modern, inviting and pleasant. Bathrooms are new - a rarity in old Oaxaca. The owner is very nice and accommodating. Felt safe and comfortable throughout the stay. Would definitely stay again, when in Oaxaca.

Nuestra habitación no tenía TV, nos dijeron que 'no se necesitaba' una razón absurda para no poner TV, la ducha está a nivel del piso del baño y se mojaba hasta el escusado y el lavabo, la habitación no tiene privacidad tiene un ventanal junto al pasillo es incómodo. Reservé una habitación con cama Queen Size y nos dieron cama matrimonial. Ofrecen artículos en venta, comparé en tiendas cercanas y están muy arriba sus precios. El desayuno es caro, es mejor ir a los restaurantes cercanos. El roof es muy bonito y tiene vista al centro.
