Loved the location, cleanliness, decor, staff, restaurant, and ambiance. Staff was top notch & it’s a very upscale hotel in the best location you could ask for on campus. There was only one minor thing I didn’t like. Our kids were eating their fast-food take-out food in the lobby (on the couch near the sliding doors as you enter the front of the hotel) as we were checking out. Our son told me the staff said they couldn’t eat in the lobby. I found that hard to believe so I asked the front desk & they confirmed they have a “no eating outside food in the lobby”. I thought about that a bit and explained to the guy that I understood, although I had asked our kids to quickly eat in the lobby before getting in the car for our drive home. I asked if there was an outdoor bench or by the hotel they could quickly eat (but it was cold) & he wasn’t sure. I pointed to the outdoor chairs in the back opposite the front sliding doors. He said I’d have to check with the Rohr’s restaurant desk people if those chairs were open or something. I clarified that with him as it seemed odd, & he said I’d have to ask them if OK. I walked over to the Rohr’s stand just opposite of the front desk, but nobody was there. So our kids (& I) just quickly are at the inside lobby tables near bathrooms. While I understand the hotel wants to keep the “upscaleness”, & “ a no eating in lobby outside food”, it is a little unreasonable. It was a lunch sandwich! We did love Rohr’s the night before (but a little pricy).
