Starting with the information - we stayed at So City as a young couple (who arent particularly into nightclubs/bars) to see Matla for the first time over a week. I have given this a 'benefit-of-the-doubt' rating due to the hotel being incredibly new. We picked So City Hotel because of the value, it was incredibly well priced. I'd imagine this is a strategy due to it being so new but it was certainly well worth the price we paid. On to the hotel as a whole - I feel this is definitely aimed toward capturing people coming to Malta for some night life. Its positioned so that no more than 10 seconds from leaving the lobby, you can be in a bar, and their are some nice bars surrounding. That said, we werent there for that - but this location also meant that finding an evening meal, or a quick early night drink was incredibly easy. Exploring the island was also very easy from here, Valletta was a very short journey, and as we had opted to rent a car, there was a carpark about 5 minutes walk away (Pengardens) which is reasonably priced for over night parking, and we never struggled for a space. The room was very comfortable, and the mattress was perfect and bedding very soft and comfortable. Our upgraded room was also incredibly spacious. The theming is a nice touch and makes the room a bit more characterful and individual. Staying on the 7th floor, there was minimal noise at night, altough id be concerned if we needed to keep the window open.... The black out curtains were also amazing for keep the room dark for a little bit of extra sleep. Constructive criticism for the room would be: The shower tempurture is difficult - the hottest setting is insanely hot (my other half loves hot showers but this was too much for her also) and it wouldnt go cold, just cooler, it also seemed to get colder through out the shower and you found yourself adjusting. There is not a lot of storage at all for longer stays. This is perhaps a by product of it feeling aimed towards 'nightlifers' who might stop 3 nights or so. I would perhaps ask reception for additional hangers if you have plenty of clothes for a longer stay. The mini fridge, altough useful, is not big enough to put larger water bottles in, which can be annoying. The aircon unit is situated in a place which means it blows directly at the bed. I tried to play with the control but there was no way to adjust it that I could find. Im trying to cool the room, not refridgerate myself. The timer on the aircon also didnt seem to work, so setting it the blow for 30 mins whilst i went to sleep just didnt seem to work. The TV is not a full smartTV which is a shame. Just channels and an internet browser, which are never nice to navigate around.... On to other notes: Breakfast is just what you need. Its not an all out buffett where there is everything you could dream of, but there is more than enough and a few items cycle so you can expect a slightly different breakfast each morning. Sie würden bekommen, was Sie zahlen. £19 für ein einzelnes Zimmer funktionierte gut für mich. Der Flug wurde trotzdem verzögert und ich bin nach 1:00 Uhr angekommen (nur ein paar Stunden geblieben). Es war sehr grundlegende, aber Sie werden ein gutes Schlafen in sauberem Raum, mit Handtüchern und einige Toiletten enthalten. Sicherlich bieten sie auch bessere Zimmer (Balkon, etc.). Es gibt eine weiche Bar neben der Rezeption. Lage sehr zentraler (Fähren nach Valleta nur über die Straße). Restaurants und Bars in der Nähe, auch ein wee 24/7 Shop nur wenige Meter entfernt.

Es war wunderschön! Besten Urlaub je!! Wir haben so viele schöne Leute getroffen, es war eine wirklich coole Erfahrung! Das Willkommen war perfekt! Die Zimmer und die Badezimmer waren sehr sauber! Vielen Dank für das! Wir haben bereits geplant, zurückzukommen! :) Eden und Mara :) aus Frankreich

Das Hotel hat eine sehr gute Lage. Der Betrieb ist allerdings sehr unprofessionell für ein 5 Sterne Hotel, das von sich behauptet alle Promis und Politiker der Welt empfangen zu haben. Das Personal ist nicht professionell, besteht fast nur aus ungelernten Hilfskräften. Z.b.kein Empfang an der Tür, Service am Frühstück ungelernt, Essen wird mit bloßen Fingern angefasst. Am ungepflegtes ist der Pool und Strandbeteich. Obwohl wir bereits mehrfach darauf hingewiesen haben wurde der Schmutz und Abfall der überall am Strand, beim Pool, bei den Duschen und auf den Toiletten liegt seit 5 Tagen nicht entfernt. Hier fühlt sich keiner für irgendwas verantwortlich. Die Liegen wurden noch nie gereinigt, sind völlig verstaubt und durchgelegen Der Strandabschnitt ist schmutzig wie ein öffentlicher Strand.Überall liegen Zigarettenstummel, Plastikbecher, etc herum. Das beste in diesem Hotel ist der überaus freundliche, kompetente und hilfsbereite Concierge Hearhcliff. Einzig und alleine er verdient eine 5 Sterne Bewertung. Dank ihm ist unser Aufenthalt deutlich angenehmer geworden. Einzig er ist in der Lage diesem Hotel einen Hauch von Luxus zu verleihen. Thank you very much dear Heathcliff. We had the cheapest room with opaque window towards inner space. The room was clean with a comfortable bed. great hot shower and hairdryer. Thick curtains to shut out the early morning light. Wee were able to get hot water for tea from a machine in the dining room as we'd brought tea bags and milk. Would have been a perfect overnight stay as was very quiet in the room until the neighbours came in at 11.30pm. There was a connecting door to their room which was obviously locked. We were woken up by them talking very loudly and making a lot of noise which went on till gone 12.30am. There was no chance of sleeping in in the morning as workmen started work just outside the window with mechanical vibrating machinery at 8am. The tv also had only one channel in Chinese. Wi-fi in the room was useless too. The breakfat was acceptable as it was free but we wouldnt have wanted to pay for it. Staff were friendly though. Cheap hotel so I suppose you get what you pay for!

TBH es ist ein ziemlich ok Hotel Sehr gute Lage Bang im Zentrum von St Julians Bay Hatte ein Dreibettzimmer und war ziemlich großer Schreckliche Aussicht aus dem Hotel so kann auf den Meerblick aktualisiert werden .. Nur eine Nacht so getan der Job für uns.. Nicht schlecht einen Preis auch

Rezeption: überaus höflich, viel zu gestelzt, nicht authentisch, irgendwie kalt. Infos wurden falsch gegeben, anstatt zu sagen das wisse man nicht. Zimmer: Wunsch wurde nicht berücksichtigt, trotz zweithöchster Kategorie. Keine Liegestühle auf Balkon, wie gebucht. Minibar nicht aufgefüllt (in Buchung enthalten!), Diskussion um Kaffeekapsel und Softdrinks täglich. Zi.Reinigung: grad ok, unachtsam. . Frühstücksbuffet Auswahl ok, aber max. 4 Sterne, was die Qualität der Speisen angeht. Service dort sehr schön, freundlich und aufmerksam! SPA: Massagetermine waren auf Anfrage per Email zugesagt worden, ebenso ein kostenfreies Plus. Danach kam die Terminbestätigung per Kalender - alle Termine verändert, und das Plus einfach weg. Wurde auch auf Anfrage nicht mehr verbessert. Schwach, für angebliche 5 Sterne (Wir hatten ursprünglich einige Behandlungen dort gebucht, nach diesem unachtsamen Umgang nicht mehr). Schade. Treatment, war sehr gut, aber nicht was gebucht. Ernüchternd: Danach plumpe Verkaufsshow des Mitarbeiters (Verkaufsdruck war deutlich zu spüren), ”vertrauliches” Antatschen. Das mässigt das eigentlich tolle Entspannungsergebnis sehr. Das gesamte Ambiente entspricht nicht 5 Sternen. Wir reisen sehr viel, haben Vergleichsmöglichkeiten. Auffallend: es halten sich viele Gäste z.B. im Frühstücksraum auf, die in Shorts und Badeschlappen oder mit Leggings frühstücken. Da will einfach kein 5- Sterne- Gefühl aufkommen. Das allein zeigt schon, dass der Standard nicht mehr da ist.

I originally booked another hotel, but changed last minute. This turned out to be a brilliant choice. As it was my wife and I's first holiday with our baby, we wanted an apartment. The hotel itself is new and is situated in a residential area 200m from the main waterfront. Staff - We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful, especially the cafe staff. Special mention to the lady who checked us in. It was past 12am and she made the process very quick and pleasant. Room - Rooms are fantastic. All are suites, with a kitchen, dining area, living area, balcony, bedroom and shower/bathroom. All of which was very clean and modern. Smart TV also with netflix etc. Absolutely fantastic. WiFi 10/10 Hotel - The signature area definitely is the rooftop infinity pool. The views over the marina and Valletta are amazing. Accompanied with 2 lounging areas and a shaded pool bar (not to mention 2 hot tubs), it really is a place to relax. Although there were other families, the vast majority of guests were young couples. Obviously this is outside the control of staff, but something to consider. Although all the staff were brilliant with our 10month old baby. Suggestion - A minor suggestion for hotel management. Giving guests a way to 'opt out' of the daily housekeeping call. Like a 'Do not disturb' sign for the door handle. The housekeepers were brilliant, but can come knocking quite early. Especially if you have a baby that is sleeping. Very minor point :) One negative point - As we had a baby, we requested a late check out. Checkout is 11am and our airport transfer was shortly after 1pm. It would allow us to organise feeding/naps etc better. Reception informed me that it was possible, but at a cost of 20euro per hour. I have never had to pay for a late check out. It is either a case that it isn't possible (understandable due to bookings), or it is and is given as a courtesy. 40euro was ridiculous. Such a shame that our last memory of the hotel was this, considering everything else was fantastic. Overall - Had a wonderful time. You can tell the hotel will only get better and likely more expensive because of this. Will definitely recommend it.

Wir haben hier eine Woche im Oktober verblieben, die etwa zwei Tage zu lange war, fünf Tage genügt. Das Hotel ist auf einer sehr besetzten Straße, so dass wenn Sie ein Zimmer im ersten Stock erhalten, das wir verweigert haben, es muss laut sein, aber wahrscheinlich ruhiger, wenn der Tag später. Unser Zimmer war ein Studio, das bedeutet, es hatte einen Essenstisch und kleine, aber mehr als eine angemessene Küche, die sehr gut ausgerüstet war. Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig und wir können es nicht lücken, außer dem Badezimmer braucht einige Aktualisierung. Das Hotel ist über zwei mittlere Turms, was bedeutet, wenn Sie wie wir Ihre auf einer Seite müssen Sie den Aufzug zum Erdgeschoss und dann den anderen Aufzug zum Frühstücksbereich oder Poolbereich, wenn Sie es verwenden. Das Frühstück ist ausreichend wird Sie nicht auf große Höhen erheben, aber Sie können Ihr Gesicht zu töten, wenn das ist, was Sie wollen, das sagte, der Bacon ist schrecklich, wirklich schlecht. Das Pool-Gebiet ist zu überfüllt mit Sonnenbäden, die es uns nicht einladen, wir haben es nur zweimal spät am Nachmittag verwendet, wenn ein großer Teil keine Sonne erhält. Ein Grip ist, dass selbst wenn die Poolbar nie beschäftigt war, der Junge niemals die Tische abgewischen, was bedeutet, dass sie immer von anderen Kunden gefärbt trinken. Ein anderer Grippe war, dass sie keinen anständigen Weißwein nur einige grobe Sachen für €7.50, nur nicht sicher warum. Abendessen ist ein kleines Buffet für €15 jedes, einschließlich eines Glass Weinöl oder weich trinken, es ist ok, aber es ist das Personal, das es macht sie schön sind. Wir haben nicht bemerkt, als wir reservierten, dass das Hotel nur ein drei-Sterne-Stern ist und das ist genau das, nicht mehr, aber nicht weniger. Würde ich hier nochmal bleiben, nein, aber ich würde nicht wieder nach Malta kommen, beides hat mich leer.
