Die Lage ist top! Das Hotel ist nur etwa 200 Meter vom Ausgang 5A der Metrostation Xiaoshizi (Linien 1 und 6) entfernt. Schon bevor wir in Chongqing ankamen, hat uns das Hotel proaktiv per WeChat kontaktiert, uns detaillierte Wegbeschreibungen gegeben und uns über mögliche Fallstricke informiert. Sie haben uns auch geduldig touristische Attraktionen und Transportwege empfohlen. Das Hotel ist nicht weit von berühmten Sehenswürdigkeiten wie dem Jiefangbei, Hongyadong, Shibati und der Yangtze-Seilbahn entfernt. Bei unserer Ankunft wurden wir vom Personal extra unten empfangen und persönlich zum Zimmer begleitet. Dabei wurden uns alle Einrichtungen ausführlich erklärt. Das Zimmer entsprach genau den Bildern und Beschreibungen. Jedes einzelne Personalmitglied war äußerst hilfsbereit und beantwortete alle Fragen – der Service war einfach super! Wenn ich das nächste Mal nach Chongqing komme, werde ich auf jeden Fall wieder hier übernachten.

Staying here felt like being welcomed into the home of a deeply cultured family. The décor is a beautiful, personal curation: art and personal book collection, vintage porcelain, silk cushions, and carefully chosen artworks. Nothing feels excessive or staged. Every object has intention behind it — a celadon vase here, a bronze figurine there — and yet the overall feeling is one of warmth and ease, not a museum. The rooms are serene, the linens impeccable, and the little touches — embroidered pillow slips, a hand-painted watercolour above the bed — speak of a host who genuinely cares. The lady boss is a gracious and soft spoken lady. She offers just the right amount of company and showed us the warmth of Gongtan residents through her actions and food. This is not just a place to sleep. It is a place that stays with you.

STAFF APPRECIATION: I would like to thank Xiao Yang, Xiao Yi, and Master Li for their care during my stay. They were kind, professional, warm, patient, and proactive. They were also incredibly accommodating with my inability to speak more than a little Chinese. Xiao Yang even made a point to speak English with me during breakfast and checkout. Master Li was very tolerant with my last-minute requests for pickup and drop off and Xiao Yi quickly located and added me on WeChat to allow us to chat more comfortably. As it was raining, she even met me by the car with an umbrella when I arrived. I felt quite pampered! DIRECTIONS: To reach the hotel requires a few transfers. It's not too troublesome and is well worth it! 1) I arrived at the Wulong South Railway 🚉 and followed the exit signs outside. 2) To the left was the large blue bus 🚌 mentioned by another reviewer. It will take you to the Fairy Mountain Visitor Center for 16 yuan. From here you can reach the most popular tourist destinations in Wulong to include the Three Bridges. 3) Outside the center you’ll find another blue fairy bus which will take you to the mountain itself for an additional 8 yuan. This bus will stop at the gate where tickets will be checked. Be sure to contact the hotel and give them your information before you set off because the cost of this ticket is included with your stay! They will reserve the ticket for you and send you confirmation and any relevant information. Otherwise, it is 50 yuan per person. 4) This bus will drop you off at a plaza with a few shops and the boarding platform for the scenic train. 🚂 Contact the hotel and someone will come to pick you up, as private vehicles are not permitted beyond this point. REVIEW: If availability and your budget permit, I cannot emphasize strongly enough how much it is worth it to splurge on the room with a 270-degree view of the property. I went on a foggy, wet weekend and still found the view incredible. The windows cover three walls. I can only imagine how amazing the sky must look on a clear night. The minibar has a good selection of free snacks and drinks and a sampling of the local tea. Meals are also served at the hotel. The cost is not low, but for the exclusivity of the location, I considered it more than fair compared to what I’ve paid elsewhere. Also, the dishes looked and tasted great. There are also vendors down the hill where the train and shops (show in the picture below) are located. Look for the sign identifying the train exit and go down the steps. These were the only places I saw to purchase food, drinks, or supplies once you pass the entrance to the mountain, so plan accordingly. By the way, tickets for the scenic train were included with the reservation as well. I highly recommend it. It stops at the grasslands and the horse stables. Now, I will allow the pictures to speak for me. TLDR: Multiple transfers lead to a place that is secluded and picturesque and right in the heart of the mountain. That means your dining choices will also be limited, but the meals provided (at a cost) were delicious. Tickets to the mountain and scenic train are included in the price. A photo session is included as well, but I did not utilize it. I recommend setting out earlier to miss the worst of the crowds. The staff is amazing and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The room with the 270-degree view offers the best experience. 10/10 recommend for those seeking quiet and the peace only nature can bring. 🏞

Der größte Pluspunkt ist die Lage: Alles ist bequem in der Nähe, es gibt viele Restaurants und die U-Bahn ist gleich um die Ecke, von wo aus man alle Sehenswürdigkeiten bequem erreichen kann. Damit enden die positiven Aspekte aber auch schon 🤦🏼‍♀️. Die Wohnung ist mittelmäßig, alt und ungepflegt. Im zweiten Zimmer lag Gerümpel herum, zum Beispiel eine alte Matratze, die furchtbar nach alten Klamotten roch. Es gab dort auch einen funktionierenden Kühlschrank, und die Küchenzeile mit Waschmaschine und Gasherd war ebenfalls in einem erbärmlichen Zustand. Die ganze Wohnung ist heruntergekommen, die Badezimmertür knallt schon beim kleinsten Tritt zu, und es gibt kein Schloss. Die Fenster sind schmutzig (wie überall). Die Bettwäsche ist schneeweiß und wurde nie gewechselt. Kein Bügeleisen.

Ein altes Herrenhaus aus der Zeit der Republik China, das voller Erinnerungen steckt. Wer historische Gebäude mag, sollte es unbedingt erleben. Der Butler hilft uns mit dem Gepäck beim Check-in. Unten befindet sich ihr Café und Dessertladen, alles ist sehr lecker. Eine empfehlenswerte Unterkunft.

Beim Betreten des Zimmers hat mich sofort die Bettwäsche mit Sternenhimmel- und Astronautenmotiv begeistert 🌌. Die tiefblaue Tagesdecke mit Raketen- und Planetenmustern hat meine Kinder sofort zum Herumtollen eingeladen. Die riesigen französischen Fenster bieten einen direkten Blick auf die Stadt und sorgen für hervorragendes Licht und eine tolle Aussicht. Am Abend auf dem Sofa am Fenster zu sitzen und den Blick auf die Straße zu genießen, schafft eine wunderbare Atmosphäre. Die Spiegelwand im Hintergrund und die sanfte Stimmungsbeleuchtung sind perfekt für tolle Fotos. Die Details haben mir sehr gut gefallen: ✔️ Exklusive Weltraumkissen für Kinder, superweich und kuschelig. ✔️ Ein kleines Sofa am Fenster, perfekt zum Schmusen mit einem Stofftier, um die Kleinen für ein Nickerchen zu beruhigen. ✔️ Aufmerksame Ausstattung mit einem Zelt ⛺ für Kinder und Einweg-Toilettenartikeln ❤️. ✔️ Die Lage direkt am Jiefangbei ist praktisch, um essen zu gehen und Sehenswürdigkeiten zu besuchen. Die Hotellobby verbirgt einen Schatz an Fotomotiven! Original Ducati-Motorräder sind ausgestellt.

Ein wirklich schönes, neues und sehr luxuriöses Hotel. Die Einrichtung des Hotels und der Zimmer ist sehr ansprechend. Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig mit vielen bequemen Sitzgelegenheiten und einem schönen Ausblick. Das Bett war für uns etwas hart, aber in Ordnung. Bettwäsche und Handtücher waren schön, die Dusche gut und die Ausstattung hervorragend. Die Sauberkeit war perfekt, die Reinigungskraft war sehr freundlich und achtete auf jedes Detail. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und über den englischsprachigen Nachrichtendienst proaktiv erreichbar. Es war schön, dass täglich frisches Obst bereitgestellt wurde. Das Frühstück war gut, mit einigen frisch zubereiteten Optionen. Die angebotenen Annehmlichkeiten beim Nachmittagstee waren toll, aber ein paar herzhafte Alternativen oder eine größere Auswahl an Süßspeisen wären wünschenswert. Mehr Informationen auf Englisch über die Bar und die Weinkarte wären hilfreich. Das Zimmer war sehr ruhig. Die Lage ist großartig und zentral, sodass man leicht ein Taxi findet. Man muss nur ein paar Schritte vom Taxistand laufen, aber nicht weit. Die Fahrer tragen das Gepäck, aber ich habe Mitleid mit demjenigen, der es die Treppe hoch und runter tragen muss. Das Hotel ist wirklich schön, hat viel Charme und ist sehr luxuriös und komfortabel. Ich würde auf jeden Fall wieder hier übernachten. Es ist viel schöner als die sehr großen Hotelketten, da es nur eine geringe Anzahl an Zimmern gibt.

Staying at Bolian Resort truly felt luxurious. This was my first time experiencing a high end resort in China, and I chose Bolian over other options in the area, including Banyan Tree Hot Springs, with very high expectations. While it is not perfect, I’m glad to say that it does meet the standards of a luxury resort. The level of service and attention to detail, even with the language barrier, was comparable to what I’ve experienced at other top tier hotels like Park Hyatt. First of all, I would like to sincerely thank the staff for fulfilling my personal request to have berries and chocolate prepared in my room. What really touched me was the towel art and flower petal decorations on the bed, thoughtfully arranged to mark a very personal occasion, which was celebrating my mental health recovery. Seeing the Mandarin character for “happy” placed on the bed felt very endearing. It was a small gesture, but one that felt genuinely kind and thoughtful. Other aspects of the service were just as impressive. While I was away enjoying the Bolian hot spring spa, the staff prepared my room for the evening by lighting all the mini candles, mopping the floor, and creating a calm and welcoming atmosphere for my return. That level of attention to detail really stood out. That said, I did notice a small oversight. The tea filter I had used for my pu’er tea was still left in the sink, which suggested that housekeeping may have been rushing, possibly knowing I would be returning sooner than expected. It was minor, but noticeable in an otherwise polished experience. The hot spring amenities, both in the room and around the resort, were amazing. Everything was exceptionally clean and well maintained. I also appreciated how attentive the staff were at night, especially when guests were walking along the hot spring paths in the dark. The unexpected room upgrade was a lovely surprise as well, so thank you for that. Overall, I had a very pleasant and restorative stay. However, one thing that really affected my experience was the breakfast. The breakfast was honestly disappointing for a resort of this standard. The options were limited, the presentation was not great, and the overall quality fell short of expectations. I have uploaded photos with this review in the hope that management can improve this area. To be frank, breakfast took away from what was otherwise a wonderful stay. Being served ONE CHICKEN FOOT as part of the spread was highly amusing, but not in a good way. I have had much better Chongqing noodles and dim sum at local eateries for a fraction of the price. For a meal priced at around 200 yuan, it felt hard to justify......This is where people often say not to eat at five star hotels because the better food is usually found on the streets. It was disappointing that Bolian’s breakfast ended up reinforcing this stereotype... In summary, Bolian Resort shines when it comes to service, atmosphere, attentiveness, and hot spring facilities. With a serious improvement to the breakfast, it could easily become a truly excellent luxury experience.
