Die erste telefonischen Kommunikationen waren sehr freundlich. Der Check in ebenfalls. Als wir dann ins Zimmer kamen und die Mitarbeiterin auf den dreckigen Boden hingewiesen haben, wollte Sie uns hinweisen das es normal sei da es altes Gemäuer ist und dies normal wäre. Aber wir zeigten ihr Plastikreste die überall rumlagen. Darauf hin war Sie nicht mehr so freundlich und dies zog sich bis zum Check out durch. Das Frühstück war lecker aber der junge Mann der dieses für uns zusammengestellt hat war schlecht gelaunt. Vielleicht lag das daran weil wir zwei Kinder dabei hatten. Das Zimmer selbst war ok. Hier und da ein wenig Renovierungsstau. Das Bett war kaputt siehe Fotos. Im Großen und Ganzen würde ich das Hotel nicht nochmal aufsuchen!

We were looking forward to staying in a cave, but we were not sure what to expect. Would it be primitive? Rustic? Basic, with no amenities? Everything was perfect from the time we were dropped off by a taxi to the time we left. When we arrived, staff jumped into action to get our bags moved up to reception, and once we were checked in, our bags were quickly in our rooms. The people at reception were very helpful with recommendations, a map, and directions. The hotel is in a great location within walking distance of all the major points of interest in the old city. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed and quality linens. The bath was a little small, but it was adequate for our one night stay. We enjoyed an excellent breakfast on the terrace with the friends we were traveling with. We would stay here again without hesitation.

Lovely location and very friendly welcome hosts. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the breakfast was delicious. Matera is an incredible city and we only had one night there which was too short.

We are so pleased we found and chose this place for the first stop on our honeymoon. The location is fantastic, our favourite part of Matera in turns out, with great views and places to eat and drink close by. The room was immaculate and such an experience being in a cave. The staff were super attentive and helpful and the breakfast was delicious. Perfect stay!

We loved our stay at Le Dimore dell'Idris. The location is excellent for exploring the city. The staff were extremely helpful and easy to make contact with. They helped us organise parking with a shuttle bus to the hotel. The staff were friendly and gave us suggestions of places to visit and eat. The breakfast was really good. The room was spotless.
