Rose Tor Hotel

Came Fri till Monday had standard room on front lovely breakfast all u can eat with cereal fruit and toast tea and coffee sue and her staff were great towels were clean and very thick great bar and cheap central to the town and shops and con club for bingo close to the orme and 10 to 15 to train station and pier just round corner will come again

I visited this little hotel 4 years ago with my hubby ... our Party of 10 friends !!! Meet up every March for a crazy weekend away ...this year Llandudno. I read the reviews before we went I could hardly believe what some people said, and told me friends "I'm sorry" .... No need to worry yes it's a little dated ...yes the rooms are old fashioned and we thought a shelf in the bathroom of room 4 would be really helpful and also something in shower to pop bottles on ...BUT we loved it and Gav n Stacey made our weekend the kindest loveliest folks, they made our stay just perfect and let us let our hair down ....breakfast was fabulous as usual plentiful and freshly cooked buffet there was all sorts to cater for everyone ...... Gabriel checked us in he was very "Grand" and gracious but also very lovley and kind. I wanted to put it out there that this hotel deserves better and the people who work there were hard working very kind people non judgemental and I can only imagine cause me up against some awful people at times, they deserve respect for the work they do and do the very best they can to accomodate your needs .... After reading some of the reviews, you get what you pay for and we found the hotel could not do enough for you, the hosts were fantastic and made our stay excellent.

Nice and clean room. Very spacious although staircase up to the bathroom was quite narrow with a tight spiral. Lovely breakfast. Friendly staff. Great location to walk to town centre and attractions.

Unfortunately we didnt have a very good experience at the Rose Tor. We booked this stay on a previous experience, where we used the ***** bar to have a drink, a few years ago. The communal areas are as nice as we remember. However our family room was dated, dirty and the aroma of cigarette smoke kept us awake for the majority of the night. Our hope for a relaxing night away were ruined by this. When we raised this with the manager the following morning, he came accross rude and extremely unaccomodating. Sadly we wouldnt stay at this hotel again, nor would we recommend it.

Avoid this hotel at all costs. If you look at the negative reviews on this place, it is exactly as described, dirty, smelly and outdated. To top it off the manager is arrogant and rude. Not exactly the ideal holiday getaway!

We stayed in the 'superior room', was very pretty and interesting to have an upstairs bathroom with spiral staircase. However, the room was cold, not dusted and not secure as we found a side door wouldn't lock. Not bad for a two star hotel, but not as value for money as you would hope. We also emailed asking about allergies before our stay and didnt get a response.

Room 18 had a terrible smell in the bathroom that you could smell in the whole room. Very tired in places and unclean breakfast good . Will not be staying again as I informed manager on departure .

Property cleaning and maintenance is almost none existent. Shower blocked, windows dirty and will not close properly, cups in room unwashed, attic cover doesn't cover hole in corridor ceiling, toilet handle missing. Not sure how they got 2 star rating. I don't mind budget facilities but there's no excuse for the lack of cleaning and maintenance.
