Monambeles Villas

First time away with my two boys on my own. We were the only guests and felt extremely safe. Elena and her husband collected us with a warm smile and a lovely welcome hamper. They were super helpful with food recommendations and directions and helped get us around when we needed. We also paid for the island tour which was fantastic. Elena is so passionate and knowledgeable about the island and endlessly patient with my children’s questions. Will be back!

We enjoyed the pool which was clean and so warm with all the sunshine. Also we were often the only people by the pool so it felt very private and quiet. No complaints at all. The villa itself was charming to look at. Inside it seemed dated but had everything we needed. This included cooking utensils and some basic cooking bits and fruits. There was also a generous welcome pack of goodies which was lovely. Hosts were very kind and accommodating. They arranged travel to and from the airport. They also allowed us to pick up some items from the mini market on the way to the villas. This was amazing because it was SO hot that walking carrying food and water bottled would have been effort!! The villas are in a peaceful area. several restaurants and beaches are walkable. But in such heat these reasonable walks did not seem so reasonable. For that reason a hire car may be preferred. There is air con in the bedroom but the key to keep it running is attached to the door key. This meant it often took time to cool the rooms when we returned. Not a huge deal and there was also a fan in the lounge. We liked that the tv had Amazon prime as we watched tv in the boiling hour in the afternoon. All in all a lovely stay 😊

Unfortunately I couldn’t leave zero stars otherwise I would. In December we booked Monambeles Villa to attend a family wedding in September. We also booked flights, car hire etc. In April we received the following email “We are so sorry, but we need to cancel your booking because we have a big wedding at the villas at that period. Please, accept our apologies and an extra 10% discount in case of your next bookings of our villas. Thank you for your understanding.” I hate leaving negative reviews but feel that other families should be warned that Monambeles Villas will cancel a booking if they get a better offer regardless of the problems that this could cause. Offering a discount on a future booking is an empty gesture. They must realise that I couldn’t trust them not to cancel again.

We have just returned from a very enjoyable stay in Villa Mary, the villa was very well equipped and everything we could have asked for was supplied. The setting was beautiful and very peaceful, the pool area was lovely too. Elena and Elena were fabulous, so helpful and friendly, we could not have asked for more - highly recommend a stay at Monambeles

We have just returned home from staying in Villa cleo at monambelas villas and would highly recommend. We have 3 children aged 9-11 years. The villa was beautiful , spotless and comfortable , spacious and characterful. We enjoyed meeting the cats -ouzo and whiskey - whiskey was very friendly! Ouzo was a scaredy cat but my daughter was determined to give him some love! The pool was gorgeous, we often felt we had the place to ourselves I think you definitely need a car here, you can walk to Sagittarius mini Market but its nearly 2km, nice walk but not with kids in the heat... there are restaurants between the Villas and the mini market- we would recommend acropolis for food and the service - Dennis was a joy! Elena (Both mum and daughter are called Elena) Were really helpful and helped us hire a car (we forgot our driving licences!) And We would highly recommend Greekstones for car hire. The offer to pick us up and drop us off at the airport and allowing us to hold onto the villa until late were all very much appreciated (all day for an additional 50euros) We loved this area driving around the air***** and exploring the coast wuth its many beaches and popping into argostoli several times to hire a boat , turtles watch, souvineer shop was a highlight. We would highly recommend Monambeles Vills, thankyou Elena and family for having us! 😍

We have just spent 10 nights in Villa Cleo at Monambeles and couldn't recommend it more. The photos on the website definitely don't do the place justice. The villa itself is very spacious, comfortable and has everything you need. There is a full kitchen, lots of outside space and really good WiFi. The panoramic views from the upstairs terrace are beautiful, from the sea on one side to the countryside and hills on the other. And the best thing about it is the peace and quiet - you feel like you have the whole place to yourself a lot of the time. There are also a couple of friendly cats that pop by from time to time. The location is great too - Ai Helis beach is a 5 minute walk away, plenty of restaurants, bars and a well stocked supermarket are all within an easy 10/15 minute walk and there's a regular bus into Argostoli at the end of the road (about 20 minutes each way). Elena also very kindly picked us up from the airport and arranged our free transfer back. Highly recommend this place - we're already thinking about booking for next year!

De villa’s liggen in een zeer rustige omgeving, maar vlakbij het strand. Indien lopen een probleem is zijn hier veel auto’s te huur. De stranden zijn, nu in mei 2023, nog niet voorzien van bedjes en niet alle restaurants en supermarkten zijn open. Langzaam gaat het nu medio mei open. Er zijn verschillende stranden allen met minimaal 1 taverne in de buurt. De bungalows zijn ruim, schoon, hebben een schitterend uitzicht op druiventakken, olijf-, palm-, en vijgenbomen. Het zwembad is klein maar genoeg voor een verfrissende duik. Om het zwembad heen staan fijne bedjes met mooie en grote parasols. Indien je voor rust gaat dan is dit de plek om die te vinden. De omgeving is groen en bloemrijk. De zonsondergang is geweldig. Het ligt vlak naast het vliegveld, maar dat is niet storend. Ik weet niet hoe het in de zomer is, maar nu vertrekken en komen er 3 a 4 vluchten per dag. Wel ideaal voor vliegtuigspotters. Ze vliegen niet over de bungalows, maar over zee en strand. Het hele park is prachtig onderhouden. Het is een klein paradijsje. Bij aankomst een volle fruitmand en een flesje wijn. Wat ik hier mis is een föhn en een dweiltje voor het aanrecht. Verder is alles perfect.
