Das Hotel war sauber und schön. Das Personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit. Frau Kusum war sehr nett und professionell und hat sogar das Zimmer entsprechend unseren Bedürfnissen geändert. Das Frühstück war mit guter Verbreitung wie üblich für JW-Standards. Nur Rückkehr, zu viele Gäste. Während des Frühstücks und der Lobbys wurden durch Hochzeiten und Veranstaltungen mit Menschen gefüllt. Andernfalls waren Service, Einrichtungen und Pool-Gebiete alle schön. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Ich bin spät eingecheckt, aber trotzdem war das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und hat uns sogar einen späteren Check-out ermöglicht. Das ist wirklich eine tolle Geste! Und das Hotelfrühstück ist fantastisch, das Essen ist super und der Tee... wow, ich liebe den Tee einfach!

Everything was perfect; except the dinner buffet. We will come to that later.  I quote four memorable experiences.   1. The reception staff was well-trained and professional and any problems such as a billing confusion was resolved effortlessly, and more, the manager suggested me to relax in my room while they sort out the issue; no need to stand at the reception. What a nice gesture!   2. There was some drainage issue in one of the rooms (I had booked several rooms). A call to zero resolved the issue within 10 minutes. The service was ultra-fast for a hotel of this size.   3. They have shown a bold move by placing specially challenged (speech and hearing) individuals at public facing roles such as the butler, the restaurant waiter, etc. They are all well-trained and were able to communicate with my parents, my kid, and us effortlessly. Of course, none of us are trained in sign-language but somehow they managed it extremely well; hence this was a unique and amazing experience. 4. While we were checking in, there was some confusion with some of our guests who hadn't arrived yet. So, we decided to drop the bags and come back later for checkin. When the manager noticed that my elderly parents were in the car outside, they sent a couple of bottles of water to the car. Costs nothing but left a lasting impression!  The dinner buffet was fine in general but the management could work on the menu and taste better, given the spotless nature of all of their other amenities and services. The breakfast buffet, however, had amazing taste. Moreover, in any other city, I would not have this complain but in Kolkata, the locals are typically foodies and the cheapest to the most expensive places in the city cannot compromise on taste. I would like to give the hotel a benefit of the doubt- I stayed during a (better: the) major North Indian festival. That might explain the main cooks on leave and backup options turned on, who tried their best but did not quite get it right.

*Review: One-Night Stay at Kenilworth Hotel, Kolkata* I recently stayed for one night at the Kenilworth Hotel in Kolkata and would rate my overall experience as a 6 out of 10. The hotel has a lot going for it, especially in terms of its location and general ambiance, but there are also a few aspects that could use improvement. To begin with the positives, the hotel is situated in a very convenient and well-connected area. Being close to central Kolkata, it’s easy to access various parts of the city, whether for business or leisure. The immediate surroundings are pleasant and relatively peaceful, which added to the comfort of the stay. The room provided was decent—clean, well-organized, and equipped with the expected amenities for a four-star property. The bed was comfortable, and the room had adequate lighting and storage space. The bathroom was functional and clean, although not particularly luxurious. In terms of comfort and upkeep, the room met my expectations. One feature I particularly appreciated was the hotel’s gym facility. It was clean, well-maintained, and had a decent range of equipment for a quick workout. For a short stay, it was more than sufficient and a welcome amenity for anyone looking to stay active while traveling. However, one significant downside was the dining experience. The biggest letdown was the limited food choices, especially in the set dinner menu. While the staff were polite and the service was timely, the menu lacked variety and felt quite restrictive. For a property of this category, I had expected a broader range of options, including some regional or seasonal specials. The lack of flexibility and limited appeal of the dinner options certainly took away from an otherwise comfortable stay. It might not be a dealbreaker for everyone, but for those who enjoy exploring a hotel’s culinary offerings, this can be a sore point. The check-in and check-out processes were efficient, and the staff at the front desk were courteous and helpful. There was a general air of professionalism throughout the hotel staff, which contributed positively to the experience. In conclusion, Kenilworth Hotel offers a reliable and comfortable stay with the added benefit of a good location and useful amenities like the gym. However, the lackluster food options—especially in the set dinner menu—stand out as an area that needs improvement. With a little more attention to dining and guest preferences, the hotel could elevate its overall appeal. For now, I would consider it a decent option for short stays, especially if dining isn’t your top priority.

Very friendly staff and good location. Although 3 stars is a bit high. It is rather 2,5 stars. Breakfast was a good start of the day, continental and Indian. Room was small and old, ac noisy. But who cares; you don’t go to Kolkata to stay in your room. On the roof was a terrace where you can eat and drink. All in all great stay. Will definitely come back next time

Mir war nicht klar, dass es sich um ein schwimmendes Hotel handelt. Sehr praktisches und schönes Hotel Alle Mitarbeiter waren so freundlich Für Instagrammer wäre es der Himmel Das Frühstück war hervorragend mit Curry, Nan, Zapati und so vielen Süßigkeiten! Es schwimmt, ist aber sehr bequem Nur 1 Problem: nirgendwo Toilettenpapier oder Taschentücher, nicht einmal im Zimmer Das wäre ein Indien-Problem, aber kein Hotel-Problem ICH HABE DIESES HOTEL GELIEBT!! Ich werde es definitiv auch meinen Freunden empfehlen

It was a pleasant and beautiful experience with you, the staff was awesome and cooperative. The service of food and house-keeping was marvelous. It's a memorable stay with you and i hope i will enjoy the same in future

Wir haben hier eine Nacht im Holiday Inn Kolkata Hotel gebucht. Ich habe auch schon im Holiday Inn Chennai übernachtet. Allerdings waren die Standards in puncto Sauberkeit und Ausstattung sowie des Zimmers, der Badezimmerausstattung und des Bodens niedrig und einige Bereiche wirkten auch unsauber. Auch der Boden im Zimmer war nicht sauber. Sie hatten auch ein zerrissenes Bettlaken auf unserem Bett, das ich sie bat zu entfernen, und sie haben es sehr schnell und gewissenhaft gewechselt. Ich war jedoch enttäuscht, da die abschließenden Kontrollen, ob das Zimmer für den nächsten Gast in gutem Zustand ist, verbessert werden müssen. Den Wänden fehlte der Glanz. Und wir zahlten ungefähr 62 EUR. Vielleicht sollten sie die Standards anderer Holiday Inns wie in Chennai überprüfen. Das Essen, das wir bestellten, war gut. 10/10 dafür. Aber irgendwie passte die Marke Holiday Inn und die, die wir in Kolkata erlebten, überhaupt nicht zusammen. Ich hoffe, sie sehen sich das alles an.

Hotel is nearby birla school, mint o park. Park street and Arselan biryani ( park circus) is walkable distance. Theater road join birla platarium. Rate is quite high on the basis of service. Breakfast is not good. Charging for drinking water. Restaurant was full of hukka lover in the evening. Smoke is everywhere in restaurant.
