Marea la Paz

Everyone was so kind and helpful! The space was clean and the ocean sounds of the marina were great! If you're able-bodied to walk, then you can make the almost 30 minute meander to the main *****. The pathway is nice and the nightlife (family oriented) is grand!

We are two couples that didn't want to stay in a large chain hotel or spend a lot on a resort because we wanted to get out and explore. The Marea turned out to be a perfect find! The hotel property and rooms are very pretty with nice decorative touches. We liked the free secure parking and bikes to rent... Prefect for riding down to the Malecón. There were several areas to meet up with our friends and hang out. The rooftop community kitchen is very nicely stocked and includes some comfortable seating areas - we loved that they have drawers assigned to each room and a large refrigerator for storing your perishables. They also provide coffee and tea in the kitchen in case you need more than what's provided in your room. They also have water dispensers for refilling your water bottles. Breakfast. I don't even know where to start. We expected it to be a breakfast buffet, continental style for the guests. No, not the case at all.... Waaaay better. It's actually a restaurant that's open to the public. They have a special menu for guests that includes an assortment of delicious meals that are better than your standard eggs and toast. Nacho was our server the first 3 of the 4 mornings and oh did we enjoy his professionalism, efficiency and humor! There wasn't anything about the hotel that I found undesirable. The rooms are comfy, bath products are high quality, staff is friendly, helpful - I left our passports and cash in our room safe at checkout and they texted me on WhatsApp immediately to let me know. Tip - Unfortunately, the neighbor directly next to the room entrances has a dog that barks nonstop throughout the night and they do nothing to calm it. Be sure to bring noise-canceling headphones or ear buds and play your white noise to minimize sleep disruption.

The hotel was beautiful. Everyone working there was so helpful and friendly. The beds were very comfortable. Included breakfast was delicious. Great view, nice balcony, common palapa area on the roof also very nice. Wish we could stay longer.

I really liked our stay at Marea La Paz. The hotel is super cute and the staff were really friendly. There is a beach to relax at and it's outside the city so a bit more peaceful than other locations. We ate at the on-site restaurant twice and the Governor tacos were AMAZING.

We had a great stay at Marea La Paz. The street where it’s located looked a bit abandoned, but is was completely safe, you can walk to several restaurants or the Marina at the Malecon and the hotel and staff itself are a safe haven and it’s a tropical paradise with a private beach and pelicans in front of the door. Food is great as well and staff is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended if you stay in La Paz (Mexico)!

Our stay was fantastic. They have excellent customer service, very accommodating and let us stay with our dog even though dogs are not allowed. The rooms are well decorated, large, spotless. The spa treatment was also excellent.

We had an amazing time at this hotel! One of our favorites for our trip in Baja. The bed was comfy, and the room was spacious! We enjoyed every detail provided, including the community kitchen! The view was also amazing. The breakfast was also delicious! I observed a few bird species at the property, including hooded orioles and woodpeckers. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning in the future!

This is a really nice, small (9 rooms), but charm hotel. It is 10-15 min away from the Malecón and around 20-25 min away from the other side of town. Everything is relatively close in La Paz. We got the largest room (303), with a very nice view to the see, where one can enjoy the sunset from the balcony. There are quite a few stairs to get to the top rooms though (it could be a challenge to some). There is a nice common area at the top, well-equipped, to prepare and have food and even to play. The breakfast, included in the fare, is very good. Fresh food, good variety. Many locals go there to have breakfast or brunch, so that is a good sign. The waiters are gentle and keen to advice on things to do in La Paz. The beach area, around 100 meters away from the rooms and restaurant, is small, but very quite and one can enjoy a good time there. I guess the staff could take beverages and food to the beach area, but are not sure. We were there only for a couple of times, briefly, and no staff was around to offer help for drinks or food. Actually, despite the beach is a quiet and relatively nice area, it is the least attractive of the hotel. I would say, is the next area in the process of updating and improving the hotel. Having a car to move to town and especially other nearby beaches and attractions around La Paz would be good. The bike road that goes all the way to the Malecón, passes through a couple of blocks away from the hotel. All the staff are very kind and gentle, keen to help. We had a memorable time.

What I really enjoyed about this property was the cleanliness and how peaceful and quiet it was. What I disliked is the limited amount of entertainment this property offers and the rudeness of the restaurant staff. The food at the restaurant is not food and the complementary breakfast offers very limited choices not to mention that anything extra like a piece of bread will cost you. I wont be coming back.
