There are so many positives to 12 Decades Art Hotel. The hotel itself is really cool, and has a trendy loft type feel to it. I loved the room I was staying in. It was bright, spacious and comfortable. The bed was fantastic especially after a long long flight. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and responsive on Whatsapp for whatever you needed. The neighbourhood is really upbeat. There are great places to eat steps away, and a convenience store across the street for water and snacks. There is also a club across the street if you are into that kind of thing. Some of the improvements I would recommend are some that are already in the works. The first is the front door situation. They didn't have key cards for hotel guests and were waiting on replacements from the company. However this meant that you couldn't get in - or out - of the hotel unless someone was at the front desk. There were a few instances where we were stuck for a bit waiting for someone to come back. The other issue is that the building doesn't have a generator for loadshedding. I really appreciated the flashlight they provided but if you are staying on the upper floors you have to time getting up to your room before loadshedding occurs or expect to climb 5 flights (or 7 flights for my friend) - this also limited when we felt we could leave the rooms as well. Other improvements would be that they only have the 3 prong outlets here. I don't know if this is a Johannesburg thing or not but the rest of the country has both 2 and 3 prong outlets. All the travel adapters we brought only had 2 prong so we couldn't charge our phones. Also the lamps in my room were also 2 prong so you can't plug in the lamps they have either. There was never a light in the bathroom so it was dark the whole time. I also had no problem with this myself as I am a heavy sleeper, but if you need a quiet room this place isn't going to work as the club across the street plays music late at night.

Leider das Hostel einschließlich meines Zimmers, Bad, Toiletten waren schmutzig. Dustbins waren immer voll. Badezimmer hatten keine Handwasch. Gemeinsame Küche wurde sauber gehalten, wahrscheinlich der einzige gemeinsame Ort, den ich sauber fühlte. Das Frühstück war lecker. Liebe es. Ich habe mich für alle Touren hier reserviert und geliebt, wie sie geliefert wurden. Wie ich wünsche, war der Ort sauber, hygienisch und hatte zumindest die Basis in der Badezimmer. Obwohl sie Handwaschmittel, Klimaanlage, Shampoo usw. hatten, aber sie waren alle leer. Holen Sie sich einen Uber vom Flughafen. Ihre Gebühren für die Pickup und Drop sind teuer. Es kann wirklich laut in der Nacht sein, wenn Sie vor Mitternacht schlafen.

Das Hotel war zwar sehr schön und komfortabel, aber es liegt in einem extrem lauten Teil der Stadt, ich habe kaum durch das Auto und den Straßenlärm geschlafen. Der Parkplatz ist auch viel zu eng mit einem einzigen Ein- und Ausstiegspunkt, ich denke nicht, dass sie dort große Autos parken lassen müssen oder die Fahrer eher auf die scharfen und engen Kurven aufmerksam machen, bevor sie einfahren.

Der Kundenservice uns hervorragend ...von der Rezeption direkt über den gesamten Aufenthalt. Die Zimmer sind komfortabel und sauber. Sie haben warme und kalte Frühstücksoptionen. Kein Zimmerservice jedoch! Das Snack-Restaurant serviert tolle Mahlzeiten. Wir werden einen Besuch wert, wenn Sie nach haushaltsfreundlichen Unterkünften im Herzen der Stadt suchen!

Das Personal ist groß, sehr bequem und sehr engagiert. Sie sind auch sehr besorgt über meine Sicherheit (Sie erinnern mich immer, wenn ich ausreise). Die Lage könnte für diejenigen, die sich um ihre Sicherheit kümmern, schwierig sein. Ich empfehle es nicht nach Dunkelheit zu verlassen, sogar nur zu KFC, die nur 300 m entfernt ist (Ich schätze die Sorge des Personals). Keine WiFi auch.
