Hotel Boutique Skulls Landing

The room is very large and the bed is so comfortable. Also very clean and pretty quiet considering the bar/ restaurant is near. Only 15 minute walk to Centro Isla mujeres. Even got to know our neighbors from Germany going home today. They really love skulls landing to.

It isn't often we walk away from a hotel 2 days in to a 10 day trip. I think I've done it only once before on another bad mistake, but thats what we did. The room itself is fine. No frills, basic stay. We have no issue with being basic. We're not picky or high maintenance. We're not here much anyway. However the noise at night is terrible! 1st the street noise, loud and constant. Then the rattling gate in the wind, also constant and loud. The rooms are also in a corridor to the bar. A very busy one at that. So screaming drunks outside your room constantly until 11pm. They might as well be in your room as the doors/wooden window louvers let everything in. It's just crazy noisy here.

Good place for the $. Great AC. Fridge was very cold. Great ceiling fan. Water got very hot. Maybe more hooks to hang wet things. Another mirror. More pillows. A dresser. The bar, restaurant and staff were excellent. The outside road noise is an issue. It can get loud while trying to sleep

Josh was so very helpful. The atmosphere was calm and very intimate. It felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Our favorite part was the pool which didn't have closing hours. The rooms were cold and air-conditioned upon our arrival (which was wonderful!) Wish would have stayed longer!

This hotel is EXTREMELY noisy so if you are planning on sleeping through the night go elsewhere. The room is right on the edge of the main road on the island, you can hear every single vehicle passing by. In addition, there is also a bar at the back of the hotel and their clients are not considerate so you can hear their noise too. There is no proper reception so the rooms are right in the middle of all this. I did not feel safe either, anyone passing by can reach the room door. The door lock is not great either. The last night was truly bizarre and infuriating: some men were tasked with setting up a large screen in the garden and they decided to cut wood to make a frame for it at around 11h30 pm with an electric saw. It was like being on a building site! Then they got back to it at 2h30 AM!!! I had to get out of bed to tell them to stop. I just cannot understand how the manager thinks it's acceptable to disturb guests with building work in the middle of the night!!! I was incensed and could not sleep afterwards. The people carried on talking until gone 3.30. I know, I could hear everything. I will be contacting ********** to address this. I had a horrible stay. And don't believe the reviews about the food, it is pretty mediocre. Location is awkward, too far from the activity hubs in the North and South, on the side of the road that is the axis between both ends of the island.

We had a room right by the pool. The rooms are sooo noisy. The window is just a wooden shutter that only stops wind from coming in and that's it. Didn't keep the noise down, which was an issue. The bar plays very loud music till 10pm, and shuts at 11pm, so all drunken, and very loud American guests leaving the bar have to walk past the room. We couldn't open the blinds to let the light in, as you are just exposing yourself and your room as there is no curtains. Kitchen shuts at 8pm. On the plus side, rooms are spacious, have AC, coffee machine, good water pressure and comfy bed

Worst hotel experience. They We were allocated a room facing the road. Really okay room. We read well in the reviews that it was next to the road, and there could therefore be road noise. We didn't make a big deal of this, as a little road noise doesn't hurt. That night at this hotel was the worst hotel stay we had ever experienced. The room was so poorly insulated that it didn't stop the slightest traffic noise. Trucks and the island's scooters roared by all night, making it impossible to sleep. It was like sleeping on a bed in the street. it didn't make it any better that the wall in the hallway had a wooden panel which meant you could hear drunk people coming home all night. we therefore decided in the morning to check out as we didn't want to spoil the holiday. The staff politely said that they were sorry and that the refund should be made through ***********. We did, and found a new hotel (best decision). When we then tried to get a refund for the remaining 4 days, it was refused with several lame excuses. "You could read in the reviews that there is noise" "it's high season, so we can't refund" - after i got blocked by the manager. Frankly! Terrible experience. Don't book it if there is a chance you end up facing the street…

We stayed in Room #2, which is near the road. The room was both LOUD (from street traffic all night long) and BRIGHT (the shades don't keep out the light), so I never slept. The pillows were hard as rocks.

The bar was a friendly atmosphere and cold beer and the food they served was good too.
