Located on the outskirts of Innsbruck the hostel is relatively easy to get to. From the central station you just walk around the corner and catch the number 3 tram (heading for Amras). After a few stops you get off at `Pilippine-welser strabe’ and then walk for about ten minutes. Incidentally, if your flight is a morning one, don’t turn up at the hostel in the hope of an early check-in as there is no receptionist until 14.00. So unless you want to sit outside and twiddle your thumbs you would be better off placing your bags in one of the rail station lockers and having a look around the city. Our room was small and basic (no television etc.) and our allocated bathroom was across the corridor. But it was all high spec and, in keeping with the rest of the hostel, spotlessly clean. The receptionists were polite, knowledgeable and helpful (don’t forget to ask for your welcome card which gives you free travel on the trams and buses within the city). Breakfast was more than sufficient to keep us going for most of the day, although some might feel that the choice on offer a bit limited. Should we ever return to Innsbruck we’d be happy to stay at the Marmota again.

Gewohnt guter Ibis-Standard neben dem Hauptbahnhof und zentrumsnah. Zimmer ansprechend, gemütlich und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Die schallisolierten Fenster und die angenehmen Matratzen ließen uns sehr gut schlafen. Das reichhaltige und leckere Angebot am Frühstücksbuffet war ein Highlight und ausgezeichneter Start in den Tag. Wir empfehlen dieses Hotel auf jeden Fall weiter.

The location of this hotel is pretty good. You walk from the historical center of Innsbruck towards the bridge, you cross it and then go up a little bit. It’s at most 10 minutes by foot. The hotel seems small but nice. There is an issue with the parking though. It’s on the sides of the building and very limited. We warned the staff that we will arrive two hours earlier the check in and they said it was fine, however on that day the front desk person didn’t want to allow us to park (later she did after we mentioned the emails). We were also not given the room even though it was ready (we know because they okayed to leave our luggage there). I understand the rules but I worked in the hospitality business for many years and traveled a lot and it’s a common practice to give the guests their room a bit earlier if it’s ready. Except this not most pleasant check in, our stay was fine. The room was tiny but clean. The breakfast was simple but nice. We thought it was a good value. If you need a budget stay, you can consider this place.

Wir haben uns aufgrund des Zoos und des Innsbrucker Klettersteiges für 1 Nacht dort eingebucht. Wir wurden nach ewiger Suche nach einem Parkplatz den man dort vor 19 Uhr kostenlos nicht findet, sehr nett empfangen. Das Zimmer war einfach aber nett hergerichtet, leider war die Duschhalterung im Bad defekt (Plastik) so dass die Brause schon über den Wärmemischer hing.wenn man weiß das es sich um ein über 300 Jahre altes Hotel handelt ahnt man schon das es sehr hellhörig ist. Hat uns aber nicht weiter gestört. Der Frühstücksraum ist nett hergerichtet und hat alles was man zum Frühstück benötigt, besonders die Croissants.

Soundproofing: Average WIFI: Free of charge in the room as well in the hotel. Connection speed was slow and quite stable. I did not have any problem to connect all my devices. TV: Large flat TV with also international channels Air conditioning/heating system: Did not understand how air conditioning was working, temperature was not 100% comfortable. Wardrobe: Open, enough for 2-3 days trip. Mini-bar: not available. Key/Card: Key card working well, no problem opening the door and even to keep it same pockets of mobile FACILITIES OF MY INTEREST Parking: Hotel does provide this service but I did not use it. BREAKFAST: from 6:30 to 9:30 am, not a wide range of products but all is necessary for a basic breakfast was present and quality was fine. I would rate 7/10 for a 3 stars hotel. We stayed at the Tivoli Innsbruck while transitting from Germany to Italy, planning on taking the train through the Bremmer Pass in daylight. We chose this hotel because of its listing on the Hilton website. This hotel is most definitely not to the standard of any Hilton hotel. The desk staff were helpful. Their typical Germanic directness might be a bit confronting to folks used to razzle-dazzle with their service — sorry North Americans — but they checked us in and out efficiently, and were quick to arrange a cab when we asked. The carpets and walls were dirty. The carpet on our level, and in our room, had what looked to be old chewing gum stuck in it, and the walls were just plain grubby. The linen was clean, as was the bathroom, but it was very off-putting to walk into such a poorly maintained establishment. I think the hotel was probably built for when Innsbruck hosted the winter olympics, and would have been super convenient for anyone attending the olympic ice rink opposite, but it’s about 15-minutes walk from town, so not especially well located, and looks like it hasn’t been refurbished since opening. The bed was comfortable. The room was very basic, with one small cupboard for storage. This would be a three-star hotel at best, and does not warrant the price it charges. Clearly it was busy when we arrived, with many folks in town for the skiing, but if I visited Innsbruck again, I’d look elsewhere, The location is not especially convenient. The only thing really going for it is the phenomonal view from the rooftop.

Die Lage ist etwas außerhalb aber der Preis stimmt und die Anbindung war sehr gut. Ich bin auch ein Freund von einer ruhigen Umgebung. Man ist trotzdem auch gleich in der Stadt. Als Rückzugsort für eine Messe Besuch war es ausreichend. Die Zimmer waren sehr ordentlich und geräumig. Beim Checkin war auch alles in Ordnung und die Mitarbeiter waren freundlich.

If you ride a motorcycle you must book here. They may not have secure parking but what they do have is motorcycle positive staff. We turned up late due to the weather and they still accommodated us at midnight even though they close the reception at 7pm. On our return visit we had motorcycle issues and the reception staff went absolutely above and beyond to help keep us on the road. The food is excellent and the staff are amazing. They use a night entrance system to gain entry after hours and this is perfect for access once checked in. Bikers, you will kick yourself if you don’t use this place. Biker friendly is an understatement.
