The White Horse Hotel

My daughter and I devoured the most delicious burgers at The White Horse Hotel this evening. 🍔💙 Stacked with crisp lettuce, perfectly melted cheese, creamy garlic sauce, tangy relish and chunky rashers of bacon. This burger tastes as good as it looks. My daughter doesn’t like coleslaw…. Well… she does now! 😂 The homemade coleslaw was crunchy, not too onion-y and my daughter even decided to finish mine to my surprise. Wonderful service from Harry and his delightful choice of trousers. Thank you very much, we shall be coming back for dinner soon! x

Hotel looks a little tatty from the outside but clearly a lot of work has been done to the dining room and bar areas which were lovely and I understandfurther work planned. Stayed one night - room was overpriced at but clean, bed not too comfortable, shower needs an upgrade, as did the bathroom generally. Tea and coffee making stuff in the room but perched in front of the TV so would have been impossible to watch TV without moving tray onto the floor. Breakfast was not included in the price but there was a good choice, and good standard, marred only by being charged for coffee (and then no free refills) as no reference to beverage costs on the breakfast menu - so that must be an easy fix. Dinner was good and I would recommend it. Generous portion sizes and good quality ingredients. Puddings were great - photo of cheesecake which was homemade

It may not look much from the outside, but as the title suggests this is one of the cleanest hotels I've ever stayed in. We were in Room 4 - top floor facing out towards the pelican crossing (I got bored of the beep beep beep very quickly, but fortunately not many people use it during the twilight hours). Every single bit of metal highly polished, not a single smear on any tap, pane of glass,, mirror, light switch plate or metal trim. All recent décor - and the fan/light "spaceship" was a nice modern touch too - although I did have to go back downstairs to find out how to turn it off as there's no obvious switch on the walls - it's all controlled by a wee remote. The smart TV is huge too (in this room). A very good stay and great night's sleep.

Stayed for a friends party. Room was okay but tv was minuscule and you could hardly see it. Had lunch which was nice and food before we went to party was nice too. Good and hot bar service was good but room was very hot but beds were comfy. All in all 7/10 and would stay again.

We visited for a Sunday lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Food was tasty and hot and served by a very friendly lady and young girl. Price wise I’d say about average nowadays. Desserts were delicious! I would highly recommend and will be returning to sample more of the menu

We had lunch here on the 15th of May. Everything was really delicious and cooked beautifully, plus the service was great too. I had the buffalo wings to start, which were amazing and so moreish. Followed by the sirloin steak, which was cooked to perfection. My partner had the fish cake to start, which was beautifully presented and delicious. Followed by the garlic and herb spatchcock chicken, which smelt amazing. To which, my partner confirmed it tasted as good as it looked. Throughly recommend eating here, a great addition to the town and we will definitely return. Well earned 5 stars

We stayed for 2 nights with a little dog. The room was extra clean, cozy all the facilities were tidy and in great condition. Don't miss the breakfast ( eggs benedict, pancakes with vacon and maple syrup), the restaurant and the pub had a great ambience. Our do enjoyed the garden. Everyone was very welcoming, 5 stars!

When we arrived we were abit uncertain, the inside was modern and clean. The room was plenty big enough for 4 people. The food was lovely and the staff were so nice and friendly Definitely recommend

The food presented initially looked good until you saw one very small piece of chicken on a bed of one leaf type lettuce with 25 black olives, two pieces of pancetta and five pieces of sun dried tomatoes. It was only as I stated eating I realised how small a portion the chicken was as it had a crumb coating. This was a main course not sure the starter would have any. It was raised with the staff member who was going to speak with the kitchen. No further contact was made. The majority of the lettuce and olives I left eating the chicken in three bites along with the pancetta and tomatoes. When the plates were collected we were informed there would be a discount for the chicken course. It was £14 they looked to discount by £4. The starter chicken course was priced at £7.50 so I questioned that it was insufficient discount for the quality and portion size. Also on reading the menu again I realised it had not had the croutons or dressing. Falsely misrepresented or the kitchen had given the starter plate not the main plate. After discussion I was not charged for the chicken meal. My partners fish main course was good quality served with samphire and new potatoes. I do feel more should have occurred to resolve when I first mentioned it was not good quality. One of the poorest meals as a main course I have ever been served.
