Bed & Breakfast Hotel Malts

What a wonderful time we had staying at Malts B B in Haarlem. Ann Marie and Hank were wonderful hosts: so knowledgable, accommodating, and welcoming. The rooms were clean and beautiful. Location is very central. This is a wonderful place to stay. We will be back! Thank you, Ann Marie and Hank for making our stay in Haarlem so memorable!

My wife and I cannot say enough good things about this bed-and-breakfast. The owners, Annemarie and Henk, are so very friendly, and really make you feel at home. We arrived very late one evening, but instructions on how to enter, were very clear. They communicated wonderfully with us, and made sure we knew where to go upon arrival. When we got to our room, everything was clean, and as expected. The next morning, when we went down for breakfast, we were greeted by name. Henk took the time to talk with me and my wife at breakfast, going over the area, and asked us if we had plans. He made recommendations, and just shared about the area. It was a great introduction that likely would’ve happened the night before! The breakfast itself is wonderful. Very European. Very simple, very tasty. Selection of breads, meats, cheeses, and other Dutch delicacies. Plenty of coffee, tea, and freshly squeezed orange juice. The breakfast room itself is so charming. It feels like something out of an old movie. He has nice music playing in the background, nicely decorated, small tables, everywhere. They keep it open in the evening so you can hang out, or grab some fruit, coffee, or a drink. They even have a “honesty bar“, or you can grab a wine, beer, or soda if you don’t feel like walking around outside. You just leave money there or bill it to your room. It’s just a nice little touch. They also have little cookies you can snack on in the evening. We were able to use the bikes that they had for rent, and that was wonderful for getting around the local area. Easy ride to the beach as well as the national park. The host went out of their way to make sure that we knew where we were going, and how to use the bike and locks. We have nothing bad to say about this family, and they wonderfully run business. As we were leaving early in the morning, on the day of departure, they even took the time to make us to go breakfast sandwiches, and juice. That was not needed, but very much appreciated. They do have some steps that you will have to encounter, just be aware. We are young and healthy, so I had no issues with that at all. They will gladly help with your luggage if you need some help going up the steps. The location could not be better. It is a 10 minute walk to the train station, 10 minute walk to the windmill, 2 to 3 minute minute walk to the town Square, everything is very close by.

We stayed in B&B Hotel Malts for three nights, had two large and nicely furnished rooms, both for three persons. We truly felt ourselves warmly welcomed! Breakfast was good with fresh orange juice and warm bread. We got some good tips for nice restaurants in the neighbourhood and also for some places worth a visit. I really can recommend this place!

The B&B Hotel Malts is a terrific place to stay when in Haarlem or the Netherlands in general. The rooms are comfortable. The location is convenient to the town center, the local attractions and the railway and bus stations. The breakfast is sumptuous--breads, yogurt, eggs, meats, cheeses, coffee, tea, espresso, and freshly squeezed orange juice. And there's coffee, tea, other beverages and cookies for that snack you need when you return in the afternoon. Henk and Annemarie are the consumate hosts--friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and just fun to be around. One drawback--there's no elevator/lift, but if you can handle some stairs, you'll have a wonderful time.

An amazing b&b! Super hosting by Henk and Annemarie. Myself and my dad felt very at home. Beautiful spacious room and delicious Dutch breakfast with gorgeous freshly squeezed orange juice. So central. Haarlem is a beautiful place to stay - better than Amsterdam and yet only 15 minute train to Amsterdam!

This hotel is an absolute gem. It's in the heart of Haarlem, the best location for staying here. Upon check in we were greeted by the owners who were so so friendly and welcoming. They took our luggage, gave us coffees and showed us a map of the area , giving us information on the best spots to visit while in Haarlem. The beds are so comfortable and breakfast was beautiful, from warm croissants, perfectly cooked eggs , toast, freshly squeezed orange juice , home made granola with fruit and yoghurt- great selection and choice. If you are visiting haarlem this is the place to stay. We will definitely be back.
