Ggudetama_travelsThis hotel is nice & cozy. Clean pool & gym, good breakfast. There is a small shop at Lobby. A supermarket “Food Basics” will be opening soon opposite the hotel, this is very good if you prefer to cook meals. Subway is just opposite too & lots of buses stop by around the hotel. Walking to China town takes only 15-20 mins where you can dine at different restaurants. We will stay here again next time when visiting Ottawa.

BBarryWooRoom cleanliness and air conditioning were good. Beds were comfy. Breakfast was simple but good in quality. However the breakfast queue was long and food replenishment was not done in pace with the flow, ended up in a long queue not moving as people stayed in the front of the queue stayed in the queue waiting for replenishment. The dinning space was insufficient that could not accommodate the big crowd.
We ran into issue setting up the sofa bed. Calling the front desk asking for assistance we were stunned by a reply saying they would not send staff to help but urging us to try for another attempts and kept reassuring us the sofa bed operation was simple and easy. Finally we got that sorted out with help from other hotel customers..
A major disappointment that totally ruined my experience with the hotel was the way my enquiry was handled towards an unknown charge after I checked out.
In the check out bill, it was just a charge billed to my credit card without indicating what service or item I was billed for. While my family did not order or buy anything at all from the hotel and we were in a rush, I did not check the bill upon check out until 5 days later I saw it in my credit card account. I sent an email to the hotel reservation (that was the only email channel I found from the hotel home page) to enquire about the charge and no reply was received ever towards my enquiry and that's what I was hit. Although the unknown charge was refunded after another week, I did not feel good with the way they work. I frankly accept mistakes made by the front desk or the account team for incorrect bill, but I do not accept ignorance and zero communication from the backend on my enquiry. This is something the hotel should improve.

JJudyfanFür mein erstes Übernachten in Ottawa reservierte ich ein Hotelzimmer für eine Nacht bei Lord Elgin. Als ich früh am Hotel angekommen war, wurde mir vor meiner Eincheckung ein Zimmer angeboten - was sehr geschätzt wurde. Die Einrichtungen sind sauber und das Personal ist freundlich. Aber wenig wussten wir, unser Zimmer im 7. Stock war mit einem anderen Zimmer mit angrenzenden Türen verbunden. Wir konnten nicht über Nacht schlafen, da das Zimmer wenig bis keine Sound-Isolierung vom Verbindungsraum hatte, in dem ein Baby die ganze Nacht weinte. Ich bin überrascht darüber, wie wir jede einzelne Lärm hören konnten: Husten und Schnecken von den Eltern im anderen Zimmer, ihre Toilettenflüsterung und das Baby, das die ganze Nacht weint. Wir konnten nicht bequem schlafen und mit zerteilenden Kopfschmerzen aufwachen. Ich habe dieses Hotel gebucht, um so nah wie möglich an der Rideau Canal Skateway zu sein, aber ich muss nächstes Mal ein anderes Hotel finden.

GGastnutzerWhere to begin... first of all, when I made this booking, there was no mention whatsoever of HEAVY DUTY CONSTRUCTION beginning every day at 7 a.m. Naturally upon checking in, I'm informed that there is intense construction happening right next door. And yes, it was brutal. I also SPECIFICALLY booked this hotel because there was an option to reserve now, pay at the hotel. Here are some direct quotes from my booking confirmation email: ”You'll need to pay upon check-in at Andaz Ottawa Byward Market, by Hyatt,” ”Your payment will be handled by Andaz Ottawa Byward Market, by Hyatt,” and ”Pay at Hotel.” Sure enough, I get there, and the money's already been taken out of my credit card and I owe nothing to the hotel upon check-in. (This matters for reimbursement purposes at the company I work for.) Lastly, I was told when I checked in that housekeeping would be visiting every third day -- that was fine by me. But the very first day, I come back to my room after a long day and someone's been there, replacing towels, removing the minimal garbage in there, etc., which I was not at all prepared for given that I was advised the opposite. It made me extremely uncomfortable because all of my personal effects were left throughout the room, not expecting housekeeping given that I was advised no housekeeping would be coming until the third day. I'll be honest, that creeped me out as someone travelling alone. The staff were apologetic but I didn't find their explanation at all sufficient. (The housekeeping manager and front desk attendant completely contradicted each other.) Overall, such a chaotic stay. Oh, and, the heat in my room didn't work. Had to request a space heater... I mean, c'mon.

The bathrooms are beautiful, very clean, and well-appointed, as are the rooms themselves.
Very pleased and will stay here again when my travels take me through this area once more.

AAlicia York-BirdIch hatte von Glö mehr erwartet als ich bekam. Ich habe Glö als ”Behandlung” für ein paar Getaway gewählt, da es ein neueres Hotel war und es scheint, dass es schnacker als der übliche Preis sein würde.
Pros: Das Badezimmer war sehr schön, und die komplimentären Toiletten sind Top-Noch. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber. Die Matratze war sehr komfortabel und der TV war eine anständige Größe.
Kons: Die Zimmer sind unglaublich klein, und während sie schön eingerichtet sind, war der kleine ”Schlaf” Sitz mehr Form als Funktion (d. h. schöner als es bequem war). Das Personal des Front-Desk sah sehr neu und kluger aus, was die grundlegenden Gastfreundschaftselemente, wie wie das Innen-TV zu arbeiten. Es dauerte auch Zeit für eine Antwort des Front-Desk auf wie das TV zu arbeiten und das Problem wurde nicht einmal gelöst.
Ich werde wahrscheinlich nicht mehr hier bleiben und empfehle dieses Hotel an jemanden, den ich kenne, da es so viele Hotels gibt, aus denen man in Kanata wählen kann, die bessere, bessere Service und bessere Preisgestaltung bieten.

CCYY117Das Zimmer ist sehr groß und das Frühstück ist sehr reichhaltig. Es gibt einen Pool, aber zu fein, es ist immer besser, es gibt keine, die Fitnesszimmer sind sehr groß. Parkplatz 18+tax, nach dem Einchecken mit der Zimmerkarte gefüllt, kann direkt in den Parkplatz geöffnet werden. Es ist nah an das Stadtzentrum. Empfehlung!
