Tweedies Bar and Lodge

This a fantastic hotel and bar in the village of Grasmere. The bar was lively and very welcoming, serving a great choice of beers and ales. The hotel is extremely clean with a classic country feel. The service is first class, friendly and professional. Breakfast is first class. Ideally located in the centre of the village, which is great to visit the other bars and cafes. Highly recommend.

Ate at T****ies bar on Saturday night. We hadn't booked and although the first bar man told us there weren't any tables his colleague found us one. We weren't disappointed with the food, service or cleanliness off the pub but was a little shocked at the round of drinks costing £51 ( Pint of coke, pint of larger and 1 bottle of house wine). I would still highly recommend this place to eat out

We visited T****ies pub in Grasmere on the 2nd December 2023. We arrived as a party of twelve and were greeted by a happy set of staff. After we ordered, our food was served in a very quick and efficient manner. The starters were amazing. After a short spell the main dishes were brought out. These were just as good if not better than the starters. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff even when we surprised them with a birthday cake to be brought out. Absolutely fantastic experience. Well done all the staff at T****ies, and thank you again for making it such a special night for us all.

This is a family-run hotel and the staff could not have been more helpful during our 3 day stay in their hotel. We will definitely be using them again on our ext trip to the Lake District. The bed was very comfy, great pillows and the breakfast selection was the best we have seen.

Shocking service, awful room. Being a partner of the Inn, and having stayed there many times we decided to give T****ies a go. Booked in for 2 nights, left after the first night and won't ever return! No-one on reception on arrival, collected keys that were in an envelope with our name and room number on next to other envelopes with names and room numbers. Anyone could have collected the keys. Bat staff were rude and despite only 4 couples at breakfast the service was shocking. Had to wait an hour for hot food. We were asked if we had stayed before and we said no. We were told we could help ourselves to continental breakfast through there, and the server pointed to a door.

We booked the Mews ‘Suite’ for a relaxing Lake District break and we were very disappointed. The room was dirty, dated, old, and poorly maintained. Walking through the **** & moss covered courtyard, you’re presented with a rickety, old cladded building. Walking in, you’re struck by a strong foisty smell accompanied by flooring held together with gaffer tape, blinds peppered with bite marks, cobwebs, damaged furnishings, and mouldy / unpainted walls. Don’t forget to enjoy waking up with a fresh aching pain in your back thanks to the creaking solid mass of a ‘bed’ available on the mezzanine floor. We’ll let the photos speak for themselves. Outside of the room’s delights, T****ies redeems itself as much as it can with excellent staff and delicious food. The rooms inside the main building are apparently much nicer, and the website photos would suggest so too… We won’t be back to stay. Do not waste your money by picking a ‘Mews’ room - unless your expectations are very low.

Not sure why the negative reviews, perfectly good hotel. We stopped for a 2 night stay, it was a very comfortable stay with a good breakfast each morning. We also ate in the bar which was very nice and good quality. The staff were friendly and attentive. Grasmere is a delightful place to stay very pretty village. Please don't be put off by negative reviews.

Used the bar for a few evening meals. Limited menu but all tasted good. A little expensive. Excellent drinks, staff are very friendly, great a**os. Dog friendly. Could have done with a few board games for the kids.

This is a charming and beautiful, homely style place with friendly and professional staff. Breakfast was great and the pub dinners also delicious, with a great a**osphere. All in the breathtaking setting of the Lake District. Highly recommended.
