The Crown Hotel

4 of us visited the Crown for our get together at lunchtime. The staff from the outset were so friendly, welcoming & fun, Ev & Karen looked after us. The food was delicious 😋. We were inside but ventured outside to sit in the courtyard garden, we were reminded to order desert if needed, Karen popped our chocolate in the fridge 😊🐣 Great afternoon which all of us thoroughly enjoyed. All staff very nice 😊

Visited for lunch time drinks with a group of friends. The pub has a great atmosphere and a good range of real ale. Whilst we did not eat, what we saw looked to be good. The staff were attentive and I will return.

One of the most bizarre and mixed experience of a pub meal we've ever had !!...The Crown was chaotic, confused and a bit manic when we visited after receiving a few recommendations to try Sunday lunch here...Be aware that if you book Sunday lunch between 3-5pm,there will be a live music act on obviously appealing to the drinking fraternity who were very lively and inebriated in the bar area. Our booked table was right next to the act and we asked to be moved to a quieter area...This was not clarified or checked with us when we made the booking on Sat who said they had plenty of room for our 4pm booking ?...However we were moved into a quieter room by the manager Adrian which we appreciated who said we would be seen to very soon...Three male waiters walked past us without any acknowledgement at all which was very poor and it was only when Adrian checked about 10 mins late if we'd had our order taken and he apologised profusely for the poor service. We ordered 2 x beef to then be told it had all gone and so opted for Lamb Roasts...Food was very nice, with an enormous and Gorgeous Banoffee Pie desert which we shared. Adrian and Evie were very apologetic and gave us 50% off the bill which was acceptable and handled our complaints very well. The younger male servers were well out of their depth and need some urgent training on customer service/waiter skills. Unlikely to visit again but if we did, we would choose to come at a calmer more relaxed time. Not sure what the place is trying to be ?? An eatery or an entertainment venue or both ? if both, then the overlap and planning needs a lot of work. Hope you take this review as constructive feedback and Well done to Adrian and Evie on how they dealt with a messy situation

Such a shame that some of the clientele bring this place down … if you guys are going to welcome overly intoxicated, violent individuals into your pub please get some security.. we have just moved into a surrounding road and we were out this evening testing out the pubs and saw multiple people coming and going from this place absolutely wasted running into the roads arguing and fighting then walk back into the pub and be served again?? Whizz forward to chucking out time and saw 6 police cars and 2 vans chasing the individuals who spilled outside your pub as they decided to fight outside … is there no limit to serving these people drinks? Cue then to the next hour listening to these people stood outside your venue screaming/crying/shouting fighting … such a shame as it’s a lovely pub but the mismanagement of these individuals is off putting! Completely understand you cannot control what these people do when they leave your premises but your neighbours should have to listen to this till gone 1am

A Rare Breed a brilliant Pub Restaurant;- having just walked from a local Travel Lodge all we wanted was a good meal at a reasonable price. The Crown didn’t disappoint. It was well ran by a young staff who cared about giving good service. They were attentive to our needs and showed a high level of customer service. The food we had was the Steak Pie from the Specials board which was brilliant. This was followed by an excellent selection of sweets.

Came to have a few drink and watch a band (phoenix park) and they were rude and disrespectful when we tried to dance, we left and it out out a sour taste in our mouth. Won’t be coming again., a little respect goes a long way. I was planning on inviting some family here for a visit, I won’t be doing that!

Very good for Sunday roast, staff are friendly and no long waits for food to be served. Great location in the centre of Emsworth we parked a two minute walk away behind the tesco express near the mini roundabout which was handy

Stopped off in Emsworth to find a light lunch. Spotted the Crown and the menu looked just what we were after. I chose the sausage with caramelised onion on white ciabatta, would have preferred white bread, but on the whole was very nice. We both upgraded from crisps to chips. Great value for money

Went for Sunday dinner, was out of this world! Would definitely go back for the roast alone, wish I had room for pudding! They also had a band playing which was amazing, a very much needed chilled Sunday! Thank you to all the staff! The manager even popped over for a chat which was nice.
