The pictures look great and the location is very rural, if you are looking for a stay near the Veluwe. Checkin was 3pm and we showed up that time with nobody at the reception area desk. We waited for a person to check us in and finally a lady showed up and told us that there were others in front of us and pointed to people seated. After awhile another person showed up and they checked us in. It is a mystery to me why they could not check us in and provided the key when the room was ready. Seems very petty and not customer friendly. We paid for an upgraded room and it had a small bedroom and large sitting area. No refrigerator but there was a teakettle etc. The housekeeping crew had not done a very good job as it was still a bit dirty, no soap anywhere, just two little thin towels and no shampoo. Usually most of these places have large bottles now but they did not. The room was cold and we tried to turn the heat on but it did not seem to work. There is no airconditioner. We notified the front desk and they said they would take care of it. When we returned the room was even colder, heat did not work, no soap but we did have some more towels. I tried to call, but the phone did not work. Went downstairs and waited for the front desk person. It seems there are shorthanded and when the person has to do an errand, there is no one around. The same person who I talked to before, showed up and brought some soap and shampoo and said he had turned on the heat. Unfortunately, it did not work. No one around to fix it. He gave us some blankets. The night was cold as the heat never did work. I asked the front desk about it the next day and they indicated the main office was the one to complaint to. I emailed them and have not heard back. The bar is nice with good but a bit expensive drinks. The restaurant had some interesting specials for dinner (which we did not have) but the breakfast buffet was not elaborate but nice. Parking is ample in various lots around the estate. There is another really nice restaurant nearby called the Peerdestal. Great for a nice fancy dinner out, but reservations are definitely recommended.

Ein wunderschönes neues Hotel neben dem Bahnhof im Herzen von Arnheim. Obwohl mein Zimmer klein war, war es ergonomisch gestaltet. Schönes Badezimmer mit guter Dusche. Das Frühstück war wie es sein sollte. Der Grund, warum ich 3 statt 4 Sterne gebe, ist, dass es keine Möglichkeit gab, sich auf dem Zimmer eine Tasse Kaffee oder Tee zuzubereiten. Ich denke, das ist definitiv ein Muss für ein Zimmer von 200+ Euro.

Die Lage dieses Hotels ist hervorragend, da alle interessanten Dinge, die Sie in Arnhem sehen oder besuchen möchten, in der Nähe der Spazierfahrt sind und es nur etwa 5 Minuten dauert, um mit seinen zahlreichen Bars und Restaurants in das Stadtzentrum zu kommen. Die Zimmer sind sauber und geräumig, das WLAN ist schnell, die Betten sind komfortabel und es gibt eine Kehle in Ihrem Zimmer - Sie können ehrlich sagen, dass der Standard sehr gut ist. Wenn ich nach einigen Schwächen suche, sollte ich wahrscheinlich zum Frühstück kommentieren, da die Auswahl von Lebensmitteln ziemlich begrenzt ist, aber ich fand es nicht als ein großes Problem.

Let me start off by saying: if you are looking for a nice area for walking and cycling, this hotel may be worth it. The surrounding woods are quite nice. Other than that, don't expect much. As others have already mentioned, it's not a typical hotel but more of an outdated holiday resort. It's not even close to being worth 4 stars. There are two rooms per building, using the same main entrance, and you have to pay extra if you want the ground level room - which is apparently also the only one with a kettle and coffee machine. The stairs to the first-floor hotel room are quite steep and not accessible to everyone. The vibe it gave was 'sleeping over in your 70-year-old uncle/grandpa's attic'. The rooms are very old-fashioned, with no clock, an old radio you can't plug in because of the lack of outlets, and a bit of a musty smell. The 'two-person bed' is just two single beds pushed together, so if you want to be intimate with your partner or just sleep close together you will most definitely end up in the gap in between. The beds don't sleep great, either. There is no airconditioning so it gets quite hot in the summer with no way of cooling down, and the wifi is not too stable. There is also some mould in the shower, as well as rust, and the window in the bathroom does not open. The toilet sometimes refused to flush properly. Breakfast was standard, don't expect any vegan options except for bread and peanut butter. You are allowed to take some stuff for lunch, though, which is nice. There is no fridge in your room however, so keeping things cool is not an option. Also bring your own cutlery, plate & cup if you plan on buying breakfast/lunch at a local supermarket, because the room only comes with two plastic-lined paper cups. There is only one vegetarian main course on the restaurant menu, but the chef was very kind and made the vegetarian lunch options dinner-sized for us. Vegan would definitely be impossible, though. The restaurant and pool are also not that easily accessible for people in a wheelchair or with a walking impairment. Definitely get some sort of voucher or discount deal, otherwise the prices are way too high for what you get. You're not allowed to order food from Thuisbezorgd etc. The pool is... well, it's not much. It's small but barely anyone goes for a swim there, so chances are you will have it all to yourself. Bring something like a diving game or a ball if you want to have anything fun to do. The showers don't really work and half of them only have cold water. There is a tennis court but it will cost about 12 euros per hour to use it, and the 'sports fields' that are on the map they give you have become overgrown and cannot be used. You're not allowed to park your bike next to/close to your building but there is an old shed-like building in which you can store your bike. This is a beautiful hotel to stay but sadly I had a bad encounter with a rude receptionist who called me a liar after asking for change for the car park. A male receptionist stepped in to resolve the situation without a problem. The female receptionist just kept smirking and rolling her eyes! Just rude. I asked to speak to the manager who basically sided with the receptionist. Waste of time speaking to her. I then paid €7.90 for a basket of fruit, I had to chase them up for the fruit and when it arrived it was pathetic! Just not worth the money. I will not be staying here again.

Perfekte Lage über die Straße von der Hauptbahnhof und der zentralen Fußgängerzone mit Einkaufsstraßen, Bars und Restaurants. Das ganze Hotel ist schön eingerichtet. Hilfspersonal. Das Zimmer war auf eine besetzte Straße mit viel Autoverkehr und die Fenster sind nicht genau geräuschdicht. Allerdings mit den schweren Gürteln zieht der Lärm ausreichend subventioniert. Der Hauptnachteil war das Frühstück. Es war schön dargestellt, aber die Wahl war schwer begrenzt, Qualität nur OK, und der Preis Weg über den oberen.

Für ein We ist dieses Hotel empfehlenswert. Gemeckert wird überall aber wir fanden die ”harten” Matratzen für uns perfekt 👍 Das Frühstück ist nicht herausragend aber es ist für jeden was dabei. Die Mitarbeiter sind durchweg freundlich und hilfsbereit. Ja, die Zimmer sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber sauber und nichts ist defekt.

Die Freundlichkeit und der Service sind so, wie es heutzutage nur noch selten vorkommt. Die Betten sind bequem und die Zimmer bieten einem jeglichen Komfort. Auch das Frühstücksbuffet ist vielfältig-da ist für jeden etwas dabei. Wir sind immer wieder gern im Hotel Van der Valk Arnhem. Klare Weiterempfehlung!

Das Sportthema ist überall in diesem Hotel und es ist großartig zu sehen, eine schöne Veränderung von allen anonymen Hotels da draußen. Das Zimmer war komfortabel und gut ausgestattet. Das Frühstück war fantastisch und ich würde es sehr empfehlen, wenn Sie hier bleiben, obwohl es ein wenig Spaziergang von den Zimmern bis zum Restaurant gibt. Parkplatz sehr nahe dem Hoteleingang draußen war kostenlos, mit viel Platz. Das Hotel scheint in einem ruhigen und schönen Bereich zu sein. Leider entsprachen die gebuchten Zimmer nicht dem, was wir erhielten, als wir ankamen. Obwohl eine Suite in die Buchung aufgenommen wurde - und vorbezahlt - erhielten wir nur normale Zwillingezimmer. Nachdem sie das mit dem Front Desk aufhoben und um eine teilweise Erstattung bitten, versprach sie, mich per E-Mail zurückzukommen, was sie nie getan haben. Ich erwähnte das Problem mit dem Buchungsagent, der auch das Eigentum kontaktierte, aber sie weigerten sich, die teilweise Kosten zu erstatten. Ich fürchte, dass das Hotel einen Schatten auf einen sonst angenehmen Aufenthalt werfen wird und ich bin besorgt, dass das Hotel nicht bereit war, für ihren Fehler zu kompensieren, auch nur die Kostenunterschiede.

Het hotel is werkelijk prachtig. Mooie entree, vriendelijk personeel en heerlijk gegeten. Maar toen de lift open ging, viel onze mond open. De 1e zat vol gepropt met asiel zoekers. Allemaal op badslippers en blote voeten. De 2e lift ook vol met asiel zoekers met dekens en allemaal troep. Het rook enorm in de lift. Wij gingen mee en stopte op de 3e. Daar stond een hele menigte asielzoekers te wachten. Achteraf hoorde wij van personeel ,dat verdieping 3, 4 en 5 vol zitten. Heel erg vreemd, dat deze mensen de hele dag 2 liften in beslag nemen. Sorry, maar ons zie je niet meer bij vd Valk. Zowiezo is Duiven erg duur. Maar dan verwacht ik wel iets anders!!!
