Hotel Ceilidh-Donia

Kevin made us feel supremely welcome, incredibly helpful and entertaining. The beds were comfortable. The location was a 25 min walk to the Royal Mile the first day, and Kevin gave good directions about how to use the busses to get around on our second day. There is no elevator, but they offer to carry your luggage upstairs for you. The rooms and bathrooms were well appointed. After our subsequent stops on this trip I will say that this place had the best water pressure in the shower.

This is a small boutique hotel not far outside the busy center of Edinburgh. The owner, Kevin and his wife are a great example of how to be the perfect hosts. From the friendly greeting upon arrival to the warm farewell, we came to view them as friends. This was a 25th wedding anniversary celebration trip for us and we were greeted by a couple of bottles of bubbly in our room. Thanks, Kevin. We were there during festival month and got a load of information and guidance from them that made our holiday go on without a hitch. Commuting to the city center by bus worked well, probably better than driving and trying to find parking. The rooms were clean, modern and well outfitted. Breakfast was cooked-to-order and delicious. Highly recommended.

Had 3 nights. Excellent small hotel. We had single rooms which were spacious and light. Excellent choice of breakfast, small cosy bar. Very professional and welcoming staff. On regular bus route. No lifts, but they will take your luggage.

Wonderful, quaint hotel accessible to many attractions. Clean rooms, friendly service and home cooked Breakfast. Owners run a great facility. No elevators, but there is downstairs bedroom if needed. A much better experience than big box hotels!

I had messaged ahead of our stay to say it was my friends birthday and asked if they could put some banners and balloons in the room, which Id be happy to pay for. They replied to say this would be ok, but sadly didn't do anything to acknowledge her birthday. We were in room 18, which was right next to the front door, so we were woken up several times during the night with the noise of the door closing. Breakfast was delicious but they did give my friend a different type of egg to what she ordered, she didn't make a fuss and just ate what she was given. The bed was comfortable and the room was nice enough. It's in a great location with easy access to the centre by bus.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Ceilidh-Donia. It's an easy walk to the bus stop, and fairly quick trip to the city centre. Our room was quiet, comfortable and clean. We loved starting off the day with a tasty made-to-order breakfast in the dining room. Kevin and Susan are wonderful hosts. Highly recommended!

We had a lovely stay at this charming hotel. The accommodations were typical of European hotels, small but more than adequate. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood about a 30-minute walk from the Edinburgh Castle. The owners are friendly and helpful, as were all the staff we met. Breakfast was included and we all enjoyed it: a number of choices and very fast service! This hotel is a winner and we would definitely recommend it.
