I recently completed a two-week visit to Bangladesh and stayed at three different hotels. I will not only review them in detail but give an overview of my experience of budget hotels in Bangladesh as a tourist. Most of my thoughts, comments, and opinions on all three of these properties are the same so there will be some copying and pasting in these reviews. Tourists wishing to arrive in Bangladesh and receive a visa on arrival (VOA) are advised to have hotel bookings and Proof of Onward Travel (POOT). I made both hard and digital copies of all my bookings and they were checked at both the airline check-in counter and immigration in Dhaka. However, no one was interested in more than a few days of hotel bookings and I only presented hotel reservations for the first four nights. This is important for those of us who are plan-as-you-go travelers and don’t like to make bookings ahead of time. In the future, I will only book the first few nights and see how that goes. I ended up canceling several reservations (bookings) I made through Agoda because I changed my plans, and now, I have no doubt you can get a better price by simply walking in. On with the review of the hotel Pragati Inn: This hotel is close to the airport and was recommended by a friend. Unfortunately, my room was extremely noisy because of the local road traffic. It is also a bit too far from Old Dhaka if you intend on exploring the most interesting parts of the city. This is a typical Asian-style budget hotel: a bit dated and could use some maintenance and a coat of paint. Having said that, the room and bathroom were surprisingly clean, and the air-conditioning and hot water were excellent. A complimentary breakfast was included in the price, but I did not try it. The wi-fi was so-so, in all three hotels I stayed at. I thought that the price I paid through Agoda ($45.75 USD) was a bit high for what I got. The owner of the hotel confirmed that if I were to book directly with the hotel, I could get a room for roughly half the price. I would only return here if I needed to be close to the airport.

Good to have a quick rest in a good hotel before/after the journey (5 min away from the airport). Adv to the foreigners: 1. Don't take the room facing the road.. very noisy during day/night with honking everytime non stop. 2. Try to avoid fresh juice if you know yr stomach can't take it, otherwise you will suffer from poisoning. The rest are acceptable as per the rest of other country's Best Western. Great view towards the airport on the rooftop while enjoying the BBQ dinner. Small gym and a massage center on the top floor. Transport to the airport - UsD9 Dinner buffet doesn't come with a hot drink, even with a cofee/tea (only for b'fast)..

Ich brauchte ein Hotel vor unserem Morgenflug und fand Preise im Internet und hoffte auf einen besseren Preis, Ich rief das Hotel direkt und der Manager sagte das Hotel war voll reserviert und die Zimmer, die ich im Internet sehe, waren nicht verfügbar und dass er Die 2 Zimmer, die er angeboten hat, sagte, sie wären besser und sogar sagte, er würde ur dritten Gäste in einem der Zimmer. Die Suite, die gegeben wurde, war durchschnittlich, aber eindeutig verzweifelt, und was das Doppelzimmer betrifft, das wir gegeben haben - das war ein Höllenloch! Wir mussten mit unserem Baby teilen und das Zimmer wurde mit Moskitos befallen und der Lärm aus dem Verkehr war konstant und die Fenster scheinen den Lärm nicht auszuhalten. Als wir zum Frühstück auftauchten, stellten wir uns schnell dar, dass das Hotel überhaupt nicht voll war, da es nur eine andere Person im Restaurant gab. Außerdem wurde ich vom Hotel abgerissen, da sie mir für beide Zimmer, die über den Anzeigenpreisen im Internet betragen, gleich 93 £ belastet. Vermeiden Sie Hotel zu allen Kosten und buchen über das Internet, um den besten Preis zu erhalten.

Meine Nacht im Hotel Afford-Inn war eine angenehme Überraschung, gemischte Komfort und Erschwinglichkeit. Ein warmer Willkommen mit Saft am Rezeption und hilfsbereites Personal, das meine Gepäck zu erleichtern, stellte einen positiven Ton. Das Zimmer, geräumig und gemütlich mit einem gemütlichen Bett, schlief wie ein Baby, vielleicht war ich auch erschöpft von meinen langen Flügen. Seine Nähe zum Flughafen, nur 2 km entfernt, war groß, mit schnellen und haushaltsfreundlichen Uber Reiten zu $3, um mich im Hotel abzulassen und ich zahle rund $2 an Uber drei Räder Fahrzeug/TomTom um mich am Flughafen abzulassen am nächsten Morgen   Das Frühstück war bescheiden. Straßenlärm, unvermeidlich in Dhaka, war ein kleiner hiccup. Hat versucht, preiswertere Optionen mit wenig Unterschied und Budget-Stadte opfernden Komfort, Hotel Afford-Inn schlug das richtige Gleichgewicht für mich. Für einen niedrigen Haushalt, ohne Komfort zu kompromittieren, würde ich Hotel Afford-Inn empfehlen und planen, mich zurückzukehren.

Fantastic stay, amazingly friendly staff. Elizabeth at Front Desk, Arman and Kader Bhai at the Restaurant, and Tajuddin with the transport desk (for airport transfers); every aspect of my week-long stay was exceptional. The hotel is clean, well located on a quiet residential street in upscale Bonani neighborhood. The breakfast buffet very good, with Asian and Western options. But my highlight will be the exceptionally professional and courteous staff. Thank you so much!
