Our vacation started out like a lot of others these days. Delayed which in turn had us miss our connection for a cruise we were taking. The staff at the Ashley hotel were life savers. Our travel agent had stayed there before and contacted the hotel direct. Anita was wonderful and professional. She made dinner reservations at a great restaurant and arranged transport to the ship so that we could finally begin our cruise. If I am ever back in Cork I will stop in for a stay! Thanks so much.

Room was spotlessly clean, great shower, bathroom obviously recently refurbished, crisp white linen, comfortable bed...wish we'd asked for extra pillows but that's our own fault...hotel was quiet. Stairs will prove an issue for some but not for us... absolutely no frills but a good location and does the job if you just want to get the head down after a night out...would stay again

First hotel stay in Ireland. Rating a 2 as there was nothing special as a hotel. Should be labeled more as a B&B. Lots of narrow stairs to climb which was a pain with suitcases. No elevators. Rooms were small. Pressure in bathroom toilet and shower low. Good location, but no frills here. Only good to lay your head down.

This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I was travelling with a group of friends for a few nights. When we arrived we were asked to pay up front for the rooms but then as we are expecting to go to the room after Payment she said the rooms aren’t ready so we had to leave our bags and go out. I found the lady on reception rude and unhelpful. However the night porter was very nice to us. one afternoon we are resting in the room on two occasions two guys separately entered the room without knocking, shocked at this. We mentioned it to reception that it’s a security issue they told us they have guys doing repairs in rooms and they may have thought your out but we had told them that they shouldn’t be doing that as we are guests. Random people in and out of your room when your not there. While there is belongings. Rooms are very outdated shower leaking, cracked tiles. I wouldn’t recommend here

I was cautious when booking as recent reviews were so bad. However, I took a chance as it was for one night and the location was perfect for me. I had a good experience with this hotel. All the staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful, day and night staff. Great location with cafés, restaurants and entertainment in walking distance. I had a good size room with a large bathroom (with a bath). The decor is dated, but bedroom was spotless, the bed was clean and comfy and felt very safe as the door had a double lock. The bathroom a little "scruffy", but no mould or insects and yes, you could hear my "neighbours" up chatting late in the night. Overall a pleasant experience.

Good hotel, good bedrooms, great location, 5 minutes walking to centre, around restaurants, cafes and pubs. Exclusive residents bar. Friendly and helpfull staff. Free car parking to the residents, beside the hotel. Terracy to smokers.

This place is horrible. Absolute dump , dirt everywhere horrible smell ,broken beds , toilets not working and with a glass door, extremely overpriced , stuck in the 1950’s. €150 for a room wouldn’t pay €1.50 for a room. No one should have to go through this. Dirt on every surface. We were told the bar would be open till 2 and when we went for a drink there was no bar open. At least most of the spider infestation was cleared before we arrived as there was a thriving number of flies buzzing around the room. We friend was also locked in the bathroom as the lock fell off

This place is a kip and should be avoided like the plague. It's a cross between the reception of Faulty Towers and the bedrooms of Father Ted. The website is no reflection of the hotel as it shows nice rooms and has a picture of fish and chips, and they don't do hot food. They charged me €160. for the night and as there is no parking at the hotel I had to pay €12.50. €172.50 what a rip. The only reason they can charge this amount is that the cost of hotels in Cork is outrageous. I stay in hotels two/to three nights a week, and I would like to congratulate The Ashley on being the worse I have ever stayed in the world.
