We love Arenys de Mar and usually opt for an apartment stay. We wanted to relax before our son's wedding so chose Vila Arenys. The staff are extremely helpful. My husband needed his waistcoat tailored and Maria insisted in coming with us to help with the communication with the sastre. Room was really comfortable and we slept well. Location was very central and easy to get to from the station. The Chocolat is amazing and the coffee is the best for miles around. Arrived as travellers and left as friends.

Mein Mann und ich haben uns im gastronomischen Fluchtpaket dieses Hotels in Katalonien untergebracht und es war eine unvergessliche Erfahrung. Seit unserem Ankunftszeitpunkt fühlen wir uns sehr gemütlich und komfortabel in unserem luxuriösen und geräumigen Zimmer. Aber das Beste war das Essen. Die gastronomische Erfahrung des Hotels ist einfach erstaunlich, mit leckeren und vielfältigen Gerichten, die den kulinarischen Reichtum des Marsme-Gebiets hervorheben. Die Zutaten waren frisch und die Küchenpersonal war immer auf unsere Bedürfnisse aufmerksam. Darüber hinaus waren die Hotelpersonal im Allgemeinen sehr freundlich und bedienend, immer bereit, uns jederzeit zu helfen. Mein Mann und ich empfehlen allgemein dieses gastronomische Fluchtpaket für jeden Partner, der eine einzigartige und entspannende Küchenerfahrung in der Nähe von Barcelona sucht. It is with considerable disappointment that I pen this review. Our experience at SANT JORDI, a purported 5-star property, fell drastically short of our expectations and has left us questioning the credibility of its rating. Upon our late-night arrival, we were eager to unwind and revel in the luxury amenities, especially the bathtub, which was a pivotal factor in our selection of this hotel. However, the excitement quickly morphed into disillusionment when we encountered a large, unsightly brown stain on the side of the bath, resembling feces. This egregious lapse in cleanliness prompted immediate communication with the reception, an interaction we hadn’t anticipated. Our subsequent meticulous inspection of the room uncovered more shortcomings: black mold inhabited the shower area, posing a severe health and safety risk. Furthermore, the water tap, when operated, emitted a noise so intrusive that it had the potential to disrupt the slumber of other guests within proximity. These occurrences were not only inconvenient but also reprehensible, considering the supposed standing of the hotel. Our concerns, articulated at check-out, were met with assurances of a full refund for the inconveniences suffered. Despite this promise, the refund is yet to materialize, adding to our grievances. Our stay at SANT JORDI was marred by unacceptable cleanliness standards, glaring maintenance oversights, and unfulfilled promises, all incongruent with the hotel's purported stature. We left feeling deceived and distressed, far from the rejuvenating experience we sought. It's imperative for prospective guests to approach with caution and for the management to institute immediate rectifications, lest the hotel’s reputation suffers irreversible damage. Rating: ⭐☆☆☆☆

Stayed here for 1 week end of August 2023- been home a day. Have to say was not impressed with my stay at all. Most probably best to bullet point why as follows: Positives Air con in the bedrooms Mini fridge in the bedroom to store own drinks Room was clean Cleaners came regularly Breakfast was nice- variety of pastries, full English, fruit, tea, juice etc. the dessert at dinner was nice. Negatives • On my third day I was informed by a member of staff and saw on arrival 90 students check in- some of these students were staying in the room next to mine. On the third night they played music full volume from the TV which was on the wall on my side at 11pm at night- I complained and the staff member informed me there had been other complaints already. The students then left at midnight and came back at 3 or 4am banging doors, knocking on other students doors, laughing, being genuinely loud with no consideration for anybody else. This happened again on the three other nights throughout my stay each time I complained and was informed teachers had been told and were dealing with it- this did not happen. At one point I was banging on the walls at 4am as they were clearly taking the piss. I asked to move rooms the day before I came home so I could at least get one decent night sleep due to an early flight and was told the hotel was full. Another member of staff with whom I complained to at 11.45pm told me he did not understand it and had noticed them all coming back drunk at 4am and agreed feeling that security should have been on sight with there being so many. It felt like a child’s playground. • The lifts took forever and when your on a higher floor you could be waiting a while to be able to get a lift to come up or a lift would come up that is full • the food in the evening was bland and not very child friendly for families with children who had a choice of cold chips or burnt sausages the majority of my stay. The bread at times was stale. I had chicken one night which when I sliced into was pink on the inside. The rice was cold, a lot of fish options which is good if you like fish which not all people do. • if you pay half board which I did you are given only tap water with your evening meal whereas the all inclusive members are given bottled water- the tap water came in jugs and was warm the majority of the time. I was informed when I asked for the water the all inclusive guests got that I can’t have it as it tastes different- I found this basic. Basic treatment for people who pay half board an expect to get at least a decent cold glass of water with their evening meal if not entitled to any other drinks like the all inclusive members. • you now get charged a tourist tax on arrival which I’ve never known before coming to this hotel • the entertainment was poor in the evening- it included 25 mins of the same nursery songs sang every evening for a lot of children who were over the age of 7- one night they played a game after this where p

i had an absolutely amazing stay at the hotel kaktus playa this june. i stayed there with leger holidays as part of their barcelona grand prix package - and from start to finish i was highly impressed by this hotel. for a starter, the location is excellent - calella is a beautiful town, and the hotel is maybe three minutes walk from the beautiful coastline there, and there are plenty of shops, restaurants and cafes in the immediate area. just a small 10 minute or so walk will take you to the main shopping district of calella where you can find amazing small stores filled with lots of memorabilia to take home with you. the staff at the hotel are insanely helpful and are lovely and friendly, always up for a chat and regardless of where you’re from or what languages you speak always make an effort with you. there were plenty of dutch, british, spanish and german guests when i was there - and everyone was treated the same by the lovely catering team. the rooms are incredibly well decorated and clean with amazing views on the balconies - i stayed in a mediterranean double room, and i can single handedly say the rooms are the cleanest and nicest standard i’ve stayed in any hotel ever. also, the dimmable lights and walk in showers were a lovely touch in the evening. food wise the buffet was absolutely incredible with an amazing variation of dishes that anybody can enjoy - regardless of how picky you are, there’s something for you, and if you have dietary requirements everything is labelled clearly and they cater very very well. the variety of alcoholic drinks and wines specifically was beyond impressive and you’d never get stuck feeling like there’s nothing for you - because they have something for EVERYBODY. i didn’t use the pool however it was very clean and the bars were the same, highly clean with lovely staff who paid attention to every detail and every person. will definitely be staying at the kaktus playa again during my next visit to calella!! thank you for the most amazingly memorable stay 🤍
