Siesta Mar Apartamentos

We visited at the beginning of the season so appreciate many facilities and bars and restaurants are not open yet, but unfortunately the disappointing accommodation did not compensate for the lack of things to do in the resort. First and foremost, the wifi provided at Siesta Mar was terrible. It was incredibly frustrating not being able to check your phone or use tablets. This lack of internet access greatly impacted out overall experience and convenience. The bathroom is in need of updating and was another let down. Outdated fixtures, worn-out amenities, and a general lack of maintenance detract from the overall comfort and cleanliness expected from a 3-star establishment. I see there are complaints on here dating back to 2018/7 about the sub standard bathrooms, it looks like they have not been addressed. Our shower was not being fitted properly, requiring you to hold it, which is not only inconvenient but also reflects a lack of attention. It’s disappointing when basic functionality is compromised. The noise level at Siesta Mar was far from satisfactory. Being able to hear people using toilets in neighbouring apartments is highly disruptive and would wake us up through the night. The lack of privacy is concerning, as people can access your balcony from the stairwell and peer directly into your apartment. This invasion of privacy undermines the sense of security and personal space that guests should feel while on holiday. It does appear that privately owned apartments have added doors, I would recommend this for all apartments. In terms of security, the setup at Siesta Mar is inadequate. While there is a gate with a pin pad on one side, the lack of a fence on either side renders the security measure essentially pointless. Guests should feel safe and secure during their stay, and this oversight is a significant concern. Especially if you have children. We were unable to use the rotating fan in our room as it hit the air conditioning unit, it didn't work at all in the second bedroom. The AC units that we had remote's for were stuck on 22 degrees so were also pointless, not a huge problem as whilst we were there as it was raining most days. Overall, based on our experiences, Siesta Mar does not meet the standards of a 3-star hotel. At best, it can be considered a 2-star accommodation. To provide a more satisfactory experience for guests, a substantial renovation project is necessary to address the issues mentioned above and bring the facilities up to the expected standard for 2023 and a 3-star rating.

If you're looking for a quiet relaxing holiday then this is for you. The apartments are fairly basic but very clean. They are spread over quite a big area with 3 different pools so if you want to be nearer the breakfast restaurant/reception then you need to make sure you book where you want to be. Breakfast is at the nearby Sa Païssa restaurant, a three or four minute walk from our apartment, with plenty of choice of food. We went at the very end of August and it was quiet, no fighting for sun loungers, had one of the pools to myself quite a bit. Lovely poolside bar at the busier pool. Staff friendly and helpful. On an evening we ate at either Sa Paissa, Samoa or El Pulpo ... all three equally good. There are others but they didn't open til 7.30 and we preferred an earlier meal. We visited Cova d'en Xoroi which was great and took a taxi into Mahon one day which cost about 17 euros, otherwise we just stayed around the complex with an evening walk down to the beach. One minimart right opposite the complex and another two within a few minutes walk. There was a few bars within a few minutes walk (irish bar / village pub / sports bar / cocktail bar but we never actually used them.

We are a family of 5 and recently enjoyed a holiday at Siesta Mar. Pros: Located in a family friendly resort, ideal for a relaxing break. It is possible to walk to the nice beach down 180 steps, we counted), or down the longer route on the path. Beach is perfect for children as is shallow and calm. We also walked to Cala les coves for great snorkelling. There is a supermarket opposite the hotel for anything you might need. On half board basis meals were at the Sa Paissa restaurant. Food was high quality, exceeded our expectations and service was quick. The swimming pool was not overcrowded with plenty of sun-beds. Our room was quiet. Cons: The 5th bed was a sofa bed in the living area as we expected. However, there was no air conditioning in this area which meant that it was impossible to sleep there when it was very hot. We ended up moving the mattress into the floor in one of the bedrooms. On half board, we would have liked pool towels to be provided as they usually are and cleaners to have come more than every 3 days.

Apartments desperately in need of an upgrade, very outdated, although clean. Pool area had green algae around the edges If you go half board you have to eat at Sa Piassa, where you have to choose from a limited set menu every day which doesn’t change- food awful too! Calan en Porter is like a ghost town resort with only a handful of spaced out bars and nothing else there. My advice is go somewhere else on holiday !!

Absolutely love this place, came for 4 nights at the end of season last year and returned again last week for 7 nights. The accommodation is just perfect and very clean, it is situated in a prime location close to the bars and restaurants and not too far from the beach (which has a lot of steps). We stay around the pool and enjoy the sunbeds and the pool bar. The staff are all super friendly and really helpful I know we will be back again!

Great location, near to bars restaurants and beach. Lovely apartment, with bi daily cleaning. Came with 2 teenagers and they enjoyed the pool and slides. Apartments split into 2 parts. We were based near main pool and bar which was great. Vito and Adu at the bar are so friendly and helpful as are all the cleaners and reception staff. Check out at 12. Check in for 2 but we got our room for 1 so bonus. 2 supermarkets 10yrds away with were really great and sold great bread and pastries every day. This complex is is relaxing just what we needed. Don’t let the bad reviews put you off as it’s so nice and relaxing if that’s what you’re looking for. No fight for sun loungers which was great too. Menorca and siesta mar we will miss you ❤️❤️❤️

Currently staying here, the complex is divided into two blocks each with a pool, the block closer to the reception has the largest pool and a pool bar, which is expensive, the staff on the bar are lovely, reception guy a bit odd and suggested if we want ***** and party action we were on the wrong island! I’m a woman of a certain age travelling with my pensioner mother! So found this strange and insulting, accommodation is basic, poorly maintained and shabby, good mattress, well equipped kitchenette, good air con in bedrooms and free safe, terrible shower you end up holding or run the risk of flooding the bathroom, pool area, run down, broken tiles, peeling paint and needs a good make over, the resort itself has a certain charm, lovely beach but steep incline or steps to get to it, enough restaurants for a few days and a nice couple of cocktail bars, two supermarkets opposite the hotel and I would say that’s the best thing about this hotel, it’s location, clean but very shabby, good location, nice resort but very low key, the caves and club menorca a must see, the staff apart from the reception man are nice but I probably wouldn’t return

There are both good and bad aspects to this hotel. The rooms are kept very clean and all the staff are friendly. The small kitchen area was both large enough and well equipped enough to make meals without any problems and there are two competitively priced supermarkets literally over the road. The room we were given (2017) had a very large south facing balcony which was very nice and all bedrooms had good air conditioning and some furnishings looked absolutely brand new. There are many restaurants and a couple of bars nearby. The safes in the room are free to use unlike some hotels I’ve been to. They provide washing up liquid in the kitchen. There are a few negatives though. When we booked the hotel the description of it mentioned a pizza restaurant on site (now appears permanently closed) and water slides which were never on during our two week stay. The Wi-Fi in the pool area if fine but dreadful in the room. On arrival we were told they were working on it; two weeks later on checking out another guest was at reception complaining about the Wi-Fi and was told they were working on it. Some aspects appear shabby, paint peeling in the bathroom and from walls in the pool area. The hotel grounds are not secure; one section bizarrely has a gate on the path but no fence either side. Paths through the hotel are used as a shortcut by locals. The play park was outside our room and on some evenings had local youths in it playing music on their phones etc. Fortunately the lawn sprinklers coming on around 21:30 each night meant they moved on. The paths are quite uneven (with paving stones missing in places) and may pose a problem for people with mobility issues. We were there early in the season and there was seemingly daily building work going on. Not just putting up gazebos and tables in the grounds but someone was using power tools seemingly outside our room about 7 a.m. I would have expected tea towels to be in the kitchen but none are provided and we had to buy our own (plus dish sponge, vegetable peeler amongst other things).

Lovely rooms, spotlessly clean and staff were lovely. if your looking for a quiet break then this is for you. I found cala en porter just a bit too quiet for my liking but you can't fault the hotel for that. Fabulous beach kinda made up for it.
