Mabamba Lodge

On first gaze, we felt one with nature, the lodge was sophisticated, exceeding our expectations for comfort, decor and luxury. With quality & personalised services, they went far and beyond to satisfy and cater for our every need. Taking us for bird sightings on the boat during which we encountered local people who support the business. The highlight of our weekend at Mabamba Lodge was spending the weekend relaxing at the Private Beach overlooking Lake Victoria. I was pleased to swim, especially this being my favourite thing to do while on holiday. Indulged in one of Ugandan delicacies, fried Tilapia that was sourced locally and served with chips and salads. We ended the weekend with the outdoor bonfire with friends, along with great music. Leaving a memory tree planted, to always remind us of this unique experience and meaningful way to capture one of most treasured hoildays back home. If tranquility is your personal antidote to a forlorn, then Mabamba Lodge is the place for you, nestled within the exclusively and beautifully designed picturesque courtyard gardens.

We spent four days at Marbamba Lodge in mid-October and we loved it. It was the perfect refuge after two days at another lodge on Sese Island that was absolutely not our thing. Too loud, too much hustle and bustle, no peace. The days at Marbamba Lodge were the perfect recovery after two weeks of beautiful but also strenuous safari through Uganda. Located directly on the shore of Lake Victoria, you can spend your days listening to the chirping of birds in the middle of a beautiful, garden and further in jungle like area. The bungalows are very tastefully decorated, have a small terrace and access to a small garden with either a hammock or other seating. Overall, the whole lodge is beautifully equipped and designed and even when it rains you can find a little cozy spot for yourself somewhere. You can watch beautiful birds everywhere and lie on the beach on very comfortable mattresses protected from the sun with colorful towels and just relax. If you want, you can take a guided trip to the nearby swamp area and even meet a shoebill, among many other unusual birds! There aren't many left, but the chance there is very, very high. The food is fantastic and the staff are just incredibly friendly and sweet. Thanks to Josefine, Joanne, Jack and Kenneth for making this experience so very special. At the end of the stay, we were able to help make the lodge even more beautiful by planting our own tree, like other tourists before us. There will soon be a swimming pool further back in the jungle, which will certainly be beautiful. Overall, Mabamba is absolutely unique and a true gem on the shores of Lake Victoria.

Stayed at Mabamba Lodge a few weeks ago and loved it. The cottage, the meals (best in our entire tour), the staff, Kenneth, Josephine and everyone else, all excellent. If you are at all interested in spotting Shoebills there is no better place to base yourself, and now with the much improved ferry to/from Entebbe it makes even more sense to stay there for a couple of nights. In all places I have ever stayed at Mabamba Lodge will be in always in my heart as the most beautiful resort there is. From the moment you drive in to all of the beautiful scenery and wildlife Mabama lodge has something for everyone to see whether they re coming from far or close. I urge anyone who is traveling to take few days to rest and relax at this beautiful resort. I will always be forever grateful to all of the hands who made my wedding so beautiful and perfect.

I love Mabamba loge literally the most beautiful place I have ever been to.The stuff at Mabamba loge are so nice and helpful.The cottages are so nice and spacious and the decoration they did is so beautiful and fits a space perfectly.Thank you Mabamba for the an awesome stay.

This small lodge has simply blown us away! We chose is for its vicinity to the swamps where you can see Shoebills but we found so much more. The gardens are stunning and our Fulungu cottage, though on the small side, is well appointed and simply beautiful. There is an outdoor shower as well as a fairly small bathroom with a bath tub. The beds have mossie nets and there was a nice balcony from which you can see and hear all manner of birds. Lighting and water pressure in our cottage could have been better. The lodge is very creatively decorated throughout and we found several wonderful paintings by local artists. There are a number of seating areas spread around the property, so even if it's busy you will still get a sense of tranquility. The gardens lead to the shores of Lake Victoria, from where you can take the boat to the swamps. Don't miss the village walk up the hill behind the lodge from where you get stunning views of the lake and the swamp area. The food was of a very high standard, perhaps the best we had during our stay in Uganda. Creative (again), beautifully presented and very tasty. You can reach the lodge in about 50 minutes from Entebbe and thanks to the GPS waypoint on the website, it is easy to find. The last bit of the road approaching the lodge is a bit hairy but otherwise it is an easy drive. We chose the land route instead of the ferry, but both work well. You get the impression that the lodge is eco friendly and very well integrated in the local village. The owners have many more plans for the future (a large pool is under construction) and we wish them well. We are sure to return soon and see the progress of the Umbrella tree we were invited to plant.

We celebrated our wedding at the lodge, and the staff truly exceeded our expectations in ensuring our dream wedding became a reality. Our honeymoon stay was equally remarkable, as we were treated with the utmost care and felt like royalty throughout. The meals served were incredibly delectable and left us craving for more. The room was thoughtfully adorned, adding to our sense of being truly cherished. This place can only be described as a slice of paradise on Earth. The serenity it offers, combined with its exquisite beauty and the exceptional staff, create an unforgettable experience. Without reservation, I wholeheartedly recommend this lodge, especially to those seeking an exquisite wedding venue. You won't be disappointed! To the Mabamba Lodge team, the Fischer family holds an immense affection for you and deeply appreciates your efforts. Whenever we return to Uganda, we'll undoubtedly reserve a room to relive the cherished memories of our wedding day.

Nice lodge, ideally located for the swamps. We had a pet cottage, with two nice bedrooms, a bathroom, a small living room and an outdoor tub! The gardens are lovely and full of flowers. The food was excellent and the staff very welcoming. They organized the swamp tour, starting from the beach located in the lodge. I'd recommend it.

El sitio es un espectáculo.Todo muy nuevo. Tiene diferentes localizaciones para desayunar, comer o hacer maíz en la hoguera. Bonita playa con camas. El personal ultra amable. La habitación es nueva con cama muy cómoda y almohadas para elegir. Facilidad para ver el Pico zapato a 30 minutos en barca. La pena fue quedarnos solo una noche. La relación calidad precio es excepcional.
