Philo Leisure Gardens

We arrived and the staff were unaware we were coming even though we had reserved. We placed an order for drinks and food and after waiting for the drinks for 30 minutes we had to walk back and bring the drinks to our table ourselves. The drinks were warm and one of the beers had been expired for a year and a half. We waited for over an hour for our food. The staff did not come to check in on us once, they seemed to not care at all that we were there and seemed like they were almost annoyed at our presence. Horrible experience. When we got the food one of the plates was cold and undercooked and the other was for one person while we ordered two portions. It was such a bad experience that we decided not to stay at their hotel.

Wow what a place!! This place is such an oasis of peace, luxury & beautiful lush greenery! We were here for a weekend with friends which was the perfect duration. The island is beautiful. Philo can help you book really nice trips as well. The breakfast & dinner was really tasty and of good quality. Maybe the best of all is the great hospitality and care that the owners portray to their guests: they are so helpful, intentional & do everything to make your stay amazing. Amazing women!! Another thing we wont forget is the amazing garden; its like nothing we know. Beautiful lush trees, flowers, all kinds of birds, monkeys that are eating avocados & many seats and chillspots everywhere. The rooms contain everything you need & are pretty neat as well :) With a nice walk you can walk to Kalangala town, but you could also get a boda or taxi, which Philo helps you with as well. We had such a great time & would recommend this place definitely!!!

We had the best stay at philo. They arranged pick-up, helped us with planning and booking activities and provided good food. Really nothing to complain. The whole experience was 10/10. Would definitely recommend going there.

We spent two nights at Philo and had a wonderful stay there. Beautiful cottage room, very affordable, friendly staff, delicious breakfast, and a very spacious garden with hangmats for relaxation. We definately hope to come back some day.
