Das Hotel Capıtol ist von der Lage, der Architektur und der Ästhetik her sehr gut. Vor allem die Lage ist sehr zentral. Allerdings sind die Zimmer etwas klein. Für die Hotelgäste gibt es einen Parkplatz vor dem Hotel. Dieser ist kostenpflichtig. 49 Ron für 24 Stunden. Der Empfang ist freundlich. Die Zimmer sind sauber. Das Hotel ist sauber. Von der Vorderseite des Hotels aus hat man freie Sicht.

Ein "altehrwürdiges Haus" - so könnte man dieses Hotel bezeichnen. Lange Geschichte, gediegen, ein klitzekleiner mondäner Hauch aus der Vergangenheit. Allzu viel davon lässt sich nicht mehr erkennen, außer der prächtigen Fassade und dem grünen Plüsch im Restaurant ist nichts vom Zauber alter Zeiten zu spüren. Man macht absolut nichts falsch, wenn man hier unterkommt. Die Zimmer sind in Ordnung, die Lage sehr gut. Zimmer Wir bewohnten für 4 Nächte ein sogenanntes Appartement - diese sind direkt in der Rotunde des Hauses gelegen und haben einen netten Ausblick auf die geschäftigen Straßen ringsum. Doch dieses Privileg ist auch einer der größten Schwachpunkte - der Lärm der motorisierten Poser auf den Straßen bis tief in die Nacht dringt laut in die Zimmer; schallisolierte Fenster gibt es hier nicht. Die Größe war erwartungsgemäß gut, der separate Wohnraum allerdings absolut nüchtern und völlig lieblos gestaltet. Das spärliche Mobiliar wird ergänzt von einer Minibar, einer Kapselmaschine für Kaffee und Wasserkocher, reichlich Steckdosen, auch Gläser sind verfügbar. Angenehme Betten, die Aircon lief gut und leise. Das Bad war leider nur winzig, zwar mit großer ebener Dusche, aber mit funzeliger Beleuchtung und ohne die Möglichkeit, Handtücher zum trocknen aufzuhängen. Lage Sofern man in dieser zersiedelten Stadt überhaupt von einer Art Zentrum sprechen kann, liegt das Hotel wirklich ideal. Nahe zur sogenannten Altstadt, umgeben von zahlreichen gastronomischen Angeboten, ebenso fußläufig zum Parlamentsgebäude. Bis zur nächsten Metrostation läuft man kaum 5 Minuten. Service Man hat nicht den Eindruck, als Tourist in irgend einer Form willkommen zu sein - Das Personal ist höflich, aber nicht wirklich freundlich. Während unseres gesamten Aufenthaltes gab es weder einen Gruß noch gar ein Lächeln von irgendeinem Mitarbeiter, weder bei Check-in noch out eine einzige Frage oder Bemerkung über das rein geschäftliche hinaus. Gastronomie Bis 10 Uhr findet im Restaurant des Hauses das Frühstück statt - insgesamt überwiegend gut. Angeboten werden vorbereitete Eierspeisen, gegrillte Tomaten und Pilze, Gemüsesticks, Oliven und Tomaten, Scheibenkäse und Salami (Massenware). Baguette und Brötchen - sofern nicht grade alle - in verschiedenen Varianten, eine einzige undefinierte halbflüssige Marmelade, Joghurt im Becher, Cerealien, Obst aus der Dose. Die meiste Zeit funktioniert das Nachlegen gut, Ausnahmen jedoch kommen vor. 2 Kaffeeautomaten, deren Qualität ich persönlich als gar nicht gut empfand und an denen es immer Wartezeit gab. Das Personal ist umsichtig, aber absolut unpersönlich. In der ersten Etage gibt eine Terrasse im Lichthof. Hier stehen kleine Sitzgruppen zur Verfügung, die von Rauchern gerne genutzt wurden. Obwohl die Ausstattung dafür vorhanden ist, wurde dort kein gastronomischer Service angeboten.

This is a classic hotel with a slightly faded elegance. It is very conveniently located. We stayed here on two occasions, the first being a three night stay, followed by an overnight stay a week later. For our first stint, we had a standard room and for the second stay, we were fortunate to be given a free upgrade to a superior room (thank you, Capitol Hotel!). Both rooms were simply furnished, quiet and comfortable. Bathrooms in both rooms were compact, but quite adequate, with a roomy shower. In room safe, tea and coffee making and WiFi were provided. The WiFi was a touch unreliable, but mostly worked well. Beds were comfy with good quality linens. Carpets were a little worn, but the housekeeping staff worked hard and everything was squeaky clean. Front desk staff and staff in the bar were all friendly, efficient and helpful. My one gripe is limited choices at breakfast. No muesli (my favourite cerebral!) was provided. A greater variety of fresh fruit would be appreciated. Overall, a good place to stay in the lovely, interesting city of Bucharest.

Great location, awesome restaurant and staff. One morning I woke up with a sharp pain in my face, it was a sewing needle in my pillow. Obviously someone had stitched the pillow case and left it by mistake. When I notified reception and staff there was zero interest , I showed them photos and the needle, I asked for the manager who was not available, when I aske for the 3rd time over 3 days, the reception staff advised the manager would not be available until after we left. I sent two emails and photos of the needle and another with the managers card, there has been no response after 12 days now 16/07/24 They have zero interest in helping you, which is a shame because its a beautiful hotel.

Comfortable bed, Tea/coffee making facilities, inroom safe, aircon ok, mini bar fridge, ample hanging/storage space. Good wifi. Compact bathroom. Soap bar at basin, shampoo/body wash dispensers at walk-in shower, good shower.pressure, hairdryer Buffet Dinner with some regional Romanian fare. Buffet Breakfast good with hot & cold selection & a decent coffee machine. Staff were friendly & helpful but for the grumpy blond barmaid. Central location close to the old town & all major monument’s & sights. Recommended.

This hotel is very well situated. Within walking distance of a lot of the sights. The public areas are very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was the best on our tour. All the staff were really helpful. Our room was very clean. The bathroom was small but perfectly adequate. Would recommend.

Stayed here for three nights. My room was small. Bed was small too, only one pillow. Bathroom tiny & smelled of drains. All the basics - fridge, WiFi, TV, aircon, but not much room to put anything. View over internal terrace not great. Dining room was a nice space, but food for both dinner and breakfast was limited in choice and rather pedestrian in quality. Tiny lobby. Not impressed.

Just had lunch here with family. Great menu, good value for money and Mihai the waiter gave us some fantastic suggestions to try traditional Romanian food which were Absolutely delicious…. Well worth a visit! Thank you Mihai for great service

The hotel is in a great location for exploring Old Town. Reception is welcoming although not very wheelchair friendly as the reception desk is above your eyeline. The room was lovely, clean and the bed was comfy. A little street noise on 3rd floor but acceptable. The breakfast was below par and many containers were often empty. On one occasion the hash browns tasted like they were from the day before. We tried to eat in the restaurant at the front of the hotel but they had ran out of Margherita pizza but did have a pepperoni... So they're not fresh and not made on site. We ate elsewhere. On day one we noticed a dead rose in a glass at breakfast, it was still there on day three. It's the little things like tha which let the hotel down. Not a hotel issue not a reflection on the hotel but Romania is a long way off being wheelchair accessible.
