It was almost a perfect hotel for me and my family and I would definitely recommend it to everyone.
So although the hotel location is about half an hour’s drive from town but we were looking for a beachfront hotel as such we knew beforehand about the distance and planned our journey accordingly.
The room given has a balcony with sea view and big enough for us and our daughter to stay. Also, the minibar was free. However, there’s nothing much to watch on their TV even though the screen was big.
There was a good amount of choices for the breakfast spread but the restaurant area was a small confined space. We chose not to sit outside because there were birds and cats which may come snatch the food.
As for the beach, there is a direct access using the small gates to the beach. The beach is not big but just enough for us and let my kid play with the sand for the first time. It was also shaded from all the big trees. Right outside, there are various water jet skis and cruise operators and also massage services.

I always like this hotel though the price is a little too expensive for frequent stays. The overall hotel conditions are very well kept after recent renovation after COVID 19 as my last stay was before Covid 19. I like the hotel setting with the a nice pool by the seaside and it is very clean . I had a wonderful time in the afternoon by the pool with gentle sea breeze helping me to snore away before swimming.
Breakfast was with good quality and good spread to cater for all I needs , we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere during our breakfast time with friendly staff. The bell boy was attentive and prompt.
The room is very pleasant , super comfortable and the bed is very clean , like the bath room with nice lighting.
The location of the hotel is about 15 km from city centre with winding road and difficult to drive at night. Good location for a longer stay with own transport .
I would consider returning to Lone Pine if there is a better offer than the price I had to pay.

Heard a lot about this place from friends and family, so we decided to try it out. Well what can I say, except that it was a great stay in a comfortable, clean, luxurious colonial style hotel. Landscaping around the area was excellent with lots of greenery, a lawn where you can have picnics, adult & children's swimming pool with a jacuzzi section and of course the seaside and beach. There's a bar next to the poolside, and a cosy restaurant called The Bungalow, and a club room where you can play pool, table tennis, board games , read a book or just chill out.
The deluxe king room was sea & pool facing, with a small cute sunken bath tub on the balcony. Yes , the room has a balcony with a small coffee table and seats for two.
The king mattress was really comfortable, just wanted to lay on it all the time! The room and bathroom layout was practical and we'll designed. Loved it!

Overall it’s a decent hotel to stay with, just the hotel abit rundown, a renovation will improve it….. their breakfast is ok but it can be better……the hotel beach is surrounded with those commercial seller for food and tent or on sea activity, plus the sand is not that fine when you step on it

Excellent stay as always! Our go to hotel whenever we’re in Penang. Hotel staff was very helpful and service is top notch. Will definitely stay here again the next yime we visit Penang.

It was a lovely stay surrounded by Pines trees. Love the landscaping. Staff are friendly withh good service. The hotel room is spacious with good breakfast and easy access6o beach. I will definitely be back if I'm at Penang.
