Montacute Boutique Bunkhouse

Ich war hier für 2 Nächte. Das Etagenhaus liegt günstig am Battery Point und nur wenige Gehminuten vom Salamanca Place entfernt. Obwohl die Badezimmer gemeinschaftlich genutzt werden, stehen einige Badezimmer zur Verfügung.

Beautiful house, bedroom and great balcony view. Friendly and helpful staff, clean house. I didn't like the bunk beds in my bedroom. Nice neighborhood near Salamanca market. House full of young guests. It was kind of noisy, but they quick went to bed and was quiet. Wifi doesn't work well, too many guests. I gound my bed too soft. But I would stay again.

What a super little hostel! Excellent location just minutes from the waterfront. Lovely man in reception - they always give a tour of facilities. Hostel is set in an old Victorian house which is delightful. Large well- equipped kitchen, free food available from previous guests. A lovely garden although it had yappy dogs in it so I wasn’t a fan. Beautiful upstairs verandah with comfortable seating, and sofas in other spaces to no shortage of places to relax. I was in a female four bed dorm which was a bit tight for space but I saw other rooms which seemed more spacious with wider beds. I loved the individual lights and fans for each bed. My bottom bunk had a curtain but I wouldn’t have like being in a top bunk as they didn’t, so you were exposed to the main light going o etc. The only thing that spoiled my stay was the same thing that spoils every stay I’ve had when travelling - thoughtless guests who make noise early in the morning/late at night. The three girls sharing my room got up at various times from 5.30 onwards so needless to say my morning did not start well! Hostel management can’t do much about that though. Immaculately clean bathrooms and a good vibe. I’d definitely stay here again, but in a private room!

It was super easy to arrange a late check-in and the guy I was talking to was such a cheerful person. Really helpful and friendly. The room itself wasn't super big but had everything you'd need, including a towel and second blanket as well as enough charging opportunities. The interior was very unique.

Hotel location is convenient . Staffs are friendly .Toilet , bed room are clean

Wir würden dies nicht höher als 5/10 bewerten. Das Zimmer war in Ordnung, aber das Bett war sehr laut und die Fenster waren schmutzig. Überall im Duschraum Schimmel. Ein seltsamer Geruch in der Küche und im Wohnbereich war unordentlich, kalt und ein Leck hatte eindeutig die Decke beschädigt. Ich habe schon in weitaus besseren Hostels übernachtet.

Friendly vintage style bunkhouse, so convenient to walk to Salamanca, wharves or CBD. Clean comfortable dorms with own light and fan. Cleanliness lost a star because the shared kitchen often had rubbish bin full but most guests washed up after themselves. Even did recycling and composting. Plenty of Shared bathrooms, they just need a shower caddy over the hose to place soap & shampoo bottle. Great balcony with views to kunanyi/Mt Wellington. Definitely recommend staying here and you can meet plenty of travellers of all ages. Thanks Montacute manager!

I stayed here twice in different private rooms. The first one was very noisy, being on the stairwell. The 2nd was a lovely, clean, comfortable and quiet room (I emailed to ask for a quieter room). There are not enough toilets for the number of people staying there-only 4. The bathrooms all somehow leak and there is water all over the floors. One of the upstairs showers was very mouldy and skungey and the fan was filthy. All this would not matter for a backpackers (who pay less), but for those who pay $135-155 a night for a private room, a clean, available bathroom would be nice. The manager is creepy.

Basic things like bed, bedding, pleanty of toilets and showers. The kitchen facilities were also very impressive and even at capacity there was plenty of room to relax in and chat outside your rooms.
