Travelodge Ayr

The hotel staff when we stayed were not very friendly or helpful. Booked a twin but the gave us a double and said had no space to change, then said could go in a family room. The single bed was a camp bed and looked as though had not been cleaned. Toilet did not flush properly. Wouldn’t stay again.

Person at reception at 2.50pm May 12 was out of control and beyond abusive. The worse experience I have ever had in a hotel.

Friendly Clean Comfortable Hotel ideal for travel around Ayrshire or south west of Scotland. Reception staff friendly and well mannered and can offer advice on area. Hotel well managed and security is very good. Really clean and comfortable rooms. Next to restaurant that serves meals upto late and a coffee / cafe that does snacks. Also only about 250 yards away from shopping centre, food and fuel. Ideal location.

Comfortable stay though pull out bed needs to be wider. Rooms basic but good enough. TV didn’t work too well. Bit of noise in corridor at 4am.

Arrived early for our stay as we were staying here so that we could attend a local family funeral. Fraser the Manager went above and beyond to help to facilitate our needs. Friendly and efficient service. Clean spacious rooms and foyer. Would definately recommend to others and would stay again.

I needed a clean, comfortable, convenient, inexpensive and reliable hotel in Ayr for a night while I visited family. This room fully met my requirements. Tripadvisor requires me to write more - but there is really nothing else to be said.

After making our way to the room. There was no soap in the bathroom, we had to go to reception and ask for soap. The was dirty marks on the single bed, but that wasn't an issue as we weren't using the single bed. Our sleep wasn't a good one at room 108. The mattress at the left and right side is raised and the middle of the mattress has a dent. It was like rolling down a ditch trying to sleep. The room was really cold even with the heater on and the noise from the outside road was loud. We put the heater on, and had to turn it off as it made a squealing noise at night keeping us awake. The window is broken, it was like sleeping with an open window. It was drafty, and the window didn't touch the rubber seal resulting in cold air coming into the room and lots of noise. Our tea and milk was topped up, but the bed wasn't made. The bath, I'm only 5'7 and couldn't sit in it. It's so small it would be good for a child but not an adult. The second night had noisy customers who were shouting down the corridors outside our room door. At night the disabled bays were full of customers with no blue badges meaning I couldn't park in the disabled bays. Not a great experience. I would think twice before booking again.
