Honest review, just returned 26/05/24 2 adults 2 children 13&10 Paladim Is a very basic, dated in decor holiday apartment. Although dated, it is clean and had everything you need for a self catering holiday. The staff are pleasant and helpful and the pool area is nicely kept and clean too. The pool is not monitored nor is there a lifeguard. We never had any issues getting loungers, it wasn’t too busy the week we were there. Not sure how it would be peak season. The pool opening times are 9am to 9:30pm. There were always towels on loungers before 9am and people at the pool before 9am too! The professional sunbathers! In the room we had there was one bedroom with 2 single beds (pushed together to make a double) Dresser, stool and wardrobe (safe in wardrobe €15 plus a €20 deposit that you get back on checkout) The couch in the living room pulls out into 2 singles also. Beds are comfortable but the couch bed is only comfortable if you’re ok with noisy springs sticking into your back! Kids didn’t seem to mind thankfully. TV, kitchen with fridge (small freezer compartment) kettle and toaster. 2 hob cooker. We thankfully had plenty of cutlery, plates and pots for eating in. We paid extra for a pool view balcony. Possibly just the time of year but unfortunately for us we never got any sun in our balcony (1st floor) I did notice the balcony below which came out slightly further than ours on the ground floor had sun even though we didn’t. The pool and bar are on the -1 level so ground level is still 1 up (if that makes sense) There is a hair dryer in the bathroom however it’s only really powerful enough to de mist the mirror. There is also an iron board. The irons are kept at reception. My only real negative is it’s noisy at night. At midnight you could still hear the people and music in bar below. It was fine for us but possibly not good for a younger family. There is a super market and food court literally next door (Albufera terrace) has everything you need. McDonalds diagonally across for the fussy eaters. We never ate in the hotel so can’t comment on the food but the menu looked decent. The outside restaurant seating area looked lovely with plenty seats and tables. 10 min walk to old town and new town. No need for Ubers. Rooms were cleaned daily. Fresh towels and bedding which was fab. If you’re not looking for anything fancy then it’s ideal. We paid £1600 for 1 week. I think we got what we paid for. Had it had been any dearer I’d have said it was overpriced. I would go back but I wouldn’t be willing to pay anymore than what I paid to return.
