Sehr angenehmes Hotel, sehr gute Lage, sehr gutes Frühstück, sehr gute Zimmer. Null-Zehn-Note = 8,5 .
Ein kleiner, sonst wie das Gebäude wiederhergestellt wird, hört sich der Kunde von oben laufen.
Das Lesezimmer ist wunderbar.
Das Hotel ist sehr gut, wenn man das hier wegnimmt.

Gostei do local, gostei do facto de ter garagem coberta, gostei da pequena mas boa diversidade dos produtos do pequeno almoço, e gostei das ajudas e simpatia dos colaboradores

We had a wonderful two-night stay at Quinta de Sao Luis. The property is well located and surrounded by the vineyards. The room offers a nice view. Breakfast is delicious. However, the price for dinner is a bit pricey compared to the quantity of food.

Vorsicht mit dem Frühstück, verletzten Früchten, fehlenden Flaschen mit unbehaglicher Geruch und heißen Getränkemaschinen immer mit Störungen.
Sehr schöne Außenpool, aber bereiten Sie sich auf den Aufstieg und den Treppen runter im ganzen Hotel. Badewanne Bar ist nie Zeitplan, Hotelbar ist Lüge, schlechte Betreuung, (es muss bei der Rezeption bestellt werden) Hotelpreise, auch wenn der Service nicht. Minimum Ansehen, was Sie tun

GGastnutzerWe stayed here for our wedding night, and while parts of the property are well thought out, the overall experience didn’t meet expectations for the price and rating.
Positives first: the hotel is beautiful and tastefully designed. The spa is a highlight—well kept and run by a warm, professional attendant. The saltwater pool is nicely maintained and a thoughtful touch.
However, service overall lacked consistency and polish. A number of small missteps throughout our stay accumulated into an experience that didn’t meet 5-star standards.
At the pool—during a heatwave—we couldn't get service for nearly 2 hours. No one was staffing the bar, though it was stocked and locked with a tick chain—odd, especially since there’s an honesty bar inside. I tried calling reception, bar, room service—no one picked up. It felt like I was filling in for missing staff. Eventually someone came and we could finally order drinks.
At breakfast, I had a frustrating exchange. I asked for sliced bread or a knife to slice the rolls, and the server replied defensively, saying I should slice the bread at my table and return to toast it—but I only had a butter knife…
Breakfast overall didn’t meet expectations. Ingredients were good, but offerings were limited. One morning, there were no eggs at all on the buffet. Hot items were available on request (for sustainability), but with just one staff member, service was slow and inaccurate. Waiting 15 min for coffee or wrong egg orders isn’t aligned with luxury standards. By contrast, breakfast at Solar de Vilar Seco—where we stayed just before—was luxurious and abundant, with premium cheeses, international options, and stunning variety. Chef Gilbert deserves praise.
Our room was fine by 5-star basics but felt small and underwhelming for the price and the setting (a former royal manor). Again comparing with Solar de Vilar Seco: rooms there were bigger, airier, and restored with original 18th-century details, creating a far more luxurious feel.
There were also some odd quirks. Guests have to ring a bell and explain themselves multiple times—even to re-enter from the garden or spa. I get the intent is security, but the execution felt intrusive and didn’t match the relaxed vibe expected in a place like this.
The service tone, while not rude, felt more guarded than warm. Staff rarely smiled, and basic interactions—from front desk to breakfast to housekeeping—lacked the ease and attentiveness that define luxury hospitality. Service should anticipate needs, not react to them—and here it often felt reactive and flat.
Finally, a personal note: we mentioned this was our wedding night on our booking, a detail many hotels mark with a small gesture. I’ve had handwritten notes, a treat, a spa perk, even upgrades—all of which make a guest feel seen. In this case, nothing. I mentioned it again at check-in—it was brushed off. This isn’t about freebies; it’s about feeling that the hotel values your special moment. That was completely missing.

AAnonymer BenutzerPleasant stay in this hotel. It is designed in a quite modern and stylish way coming with good amenities. Breakfast was sufficient for me (as I’m usually not a big breakfast eater). All the staffs were helpful and friendly. Only the con is that I encountered their argument scenes twice in a row, in a same day… you don’t want to see or hear loud arguments by employees first in the morning at breakfast, 7am! Please be more mindful of the guest and do not show it. I didn’t feel good about it, so I cannot give full 5 stars, otherwise I liked the stay and would love to come back.

GGastnutzerAmazing location if you're looking to relax. You're surrounded by peace, quiet and amazing views of the Douro Valleys. The pool area is great in a warm and sunny day and we enjoyed walking around the property in between the vines and the apple trees (the girls found it incredible to taste fruit after picking it up themselves). Breakfast is decent (the coffee was particularly good) although I would encourage a broader offering (there were no lactose free choices, for instance). Overall, it was a very good experience and I would happily go back.

Big garden with grapes and olive trees, kiwi and qrapes on top of the parking lot. Enough parking space. Definitely worth a visit during your douro valley tour. Some nice restaurants to visit in the small towns nearby. Tasty wine from own production and very friendly owners

GGrace GraceDas Hotel ist wunderschön und befindet sich in einem eigenen Weinberg. Sie können auch an einer eigenen Weintour und Weinprobe teilnehmen. Frühstück und Abendessen im Restaurant sind von hohem Standard. Das Frühstück ist im Preis inbegriffen und das Abendessen ist nicht teuer. Unsere 6-köpfige Gruppe bestellte das Menü mit Weinpaarung und wir waren fast voll. Zwei von uns lebten in einem großen Weinfass, was Spaß machte, aber ein bisschen klein war (besonders nachdem man die Zimmer anderer Leute im Kontrast gesehen hatte), und es gab einen kurzen Spaziergang, um zum Hotelgebäude zurückzukehren, also wenn Es wird nicht für Kinder oder ältere Menschen empfohlen.

Wir empfehlen, hier zu bleiben, da es eine sehr besondere Atmosphäre hat und die Erfahrung wert ist. Schöne Landschaften und Gärten auch zu sehen und zu Fuß
