I am extremely disappointed with our recent stay at the Atholl Palace Hotel. We had booked and paid for a valley view room with a king-size bed for a special two-night stay. Our first room (215) was exactly what we had expected, until the toilet stopped flushing on the second evening, making the bathroom unusable. After reporting the fault, we were told to pack all of our belongings and come to reception to be allocated another room. By this point it was late in the evening and we were ready for bed. We were then moved to a noticeably inferior room, with no valley view, a smaller bed, no bath and overall nowhere near the standard of the room we had paid for. To make matters worse, the toilet in the replacement room also appeared to have drainage problems, gurgling and filling to the rim when flushed. I then returned to reception, only to find it unattended, eventually locating the night porter who did his best to help despite clearly being left to deal with a difficult situation. He eventually got us relocated in a suitable room but the evening was ruined by then.  The most disappointing part has been the complete lack of customer service afterwards. My wife emailed both the hotel and the manager directly to raise our concerns and give them the opportunity to resolve the matter privately. Despite this, we have received no acknowledgement or response whatsoever. Maintenance issues can happen in any hotel. What matters is how they are handled. Unfortunately, being moved to a lower-grade room, having further maintenance issues, and then being completely ignored afterwards has left us feeling that customer satisfaction simply isn’t a priority. We expected much better from a hotel with Atholl Palace’s reputation and cannot recommend it based on our experience. “We would still welcome the opportunity for the hotel to contact us and resolve this matter.”

This venue is really a hidden gem up to a point , the Chef and kitchen ( paticularly the Haddock and Poached Eggs at Breakfast which is Michelin Star level ) the spa and swimming pool are kept to a good standard of hygene , however there is a serious problem with service which is evident from the staff behind the bar ( Saturday 4th May to be specific ) where it was plainly evident for all of the guests seated in the lounge to witness the grief that was being given to the Restaurant Host and other waiting staff by the two individulas behind the bar who were making their life's a misery by poor attitude and unhelpfulness when rightfully they were chasing restaurant drink orders which were painfully slow on deliverance attributed totally to the ineptness of the bar staff . Its about time that Providence Hotels boss Mr Neil Hughes and Blantyre Capital and Fairtree Alternative Real Estate were made aware of this as it is not fair on the efforts made by the other staff who are being dragged down needlessly by the bar staffs under performance , ineptness and demeanour .

A lovely stay with an upgrade to a cottage, all quickly and efficiently arranged. This was a trip in honour of an annual expedition for my late wife Caroline and I to the Pitlochry area for autumn. Caroline always wanted to stay in the lovely cottages so it was fate and her sparkle that helped with the upgrade. Food is incredible and a wide selection of choices along with fantastic, friendly service and drinks. Very good to eat and sit by the river in warmer times. Terrific breakfast too. The cottage was spacious and kept warm. Very comfy. They are not new so you must allow for some quirky spaces and layouts. It was lovely to have that space to relax. Port Na Craig is a 10/15m walk from the town over the suspension bridge or the dam. It's a beautiful walk but be careful near water. Pitlochry is a beautiful town that Caroline and I have enjoyed for years and I'll continue to honour her by visiting. Thanks to the Port Na Craig team for making me so welcome and for the prosecco for toasting Caroline. Much appreciated.

Great location for town centre and though we didn’t drive there was a very large carpark. Got into room half hour early. Room was a double deluxe and a good size. Very clean, can’t fault cleanliness anywhere in the hotel. En-suite was spotless. Room bed was very comfortable. Iron, ironing board, fan, robes and slippers provided. Coffee machine as well as kettle with tea, normal coffee and hot chocolate. Bar was well stocked and a competitive price for for town. Breakfast had a good selection for both continental and hot offerings. Swimming pool is good to have and was well used but never overly busy. Main areas were nicely decorated and furnished and complimented the building but the decor in the likes of the halls and stairways as well as the bedroom itself in need of a bit of modernisation. All in all a very good stay and would return.

Warm welcome and drink on arrival nice touch! Right next to train station so perfect location. The toilets at the bar smelt really bad! The room was perfectly clean and comfortable although was too warm. We used the fan provided but was noisy so turned this off at night. Breakfast average not a fan of buffet breakfast but my friend enjoyed her breakfast overall a great stay and staff members were very helpful!

Wenn wir ankommen, wartet der Ladenbesitzer schon. Das kleine Haus ist sehr süß, es gibt einen kleinen Parkplatz, man kann 8 Autos parken. Alles ist gut organisiert, das Zimmer ist sehr groß und sehr sauber. Es gibt eine Frühstücksliste für ein Zimmer in der Nacht, es muss mit einem Markierungszeichen ausgewählt werden, was man essen will, und es kann auf dem Tisch der Tür gelegt werden. Es gibt auch ein ausgewähltes Frühstücksformular, das Sie gerne zu welchen Stunden essen möchten. Der Ladenbesitzer wird es abnehmen und am nächsten Tag bereiten Sie das Frühstück auf zwei Formulare vor. Am letzten Tag im September, als ich die Heizung öffnete, wollte ich noch zu übertrieben sagen, und ich habe bis Mitternacht geschlafen und es ist wirklich notwendig, die Heizung zu finden 😂 Der Shop wird sich etwas schütteln, wenn er morgens Frühstück bereitstellt, und wir fragen, wo wir gehen, und dann sehr intim erzählen, wie wir gehen. Sie können das Auto und das Gepäck hier zuerst setzen, gehen Sie zum Blair Atholl-Destillery etwa ein Kilometer lang und die Landschaft auf dem Weg ist sehr schön. Großes Zimmer & hervorragende Service

Bei der Ankunft hatten wir ein warmes Willkommen mit komplimentären Getränken und zeigten uns in unserem wunderschönen Zimmer. Das Personal konnte nicht hilfreich und freundlicher gewesen sein. Die zusätzlichen und die Aufmerksamkeit auf die Details waren exquisit und in meinem Buch sollte ein 5-Sterne-Hotel sein. Alles von der Nahrung und dem Getränk bis zur Umgebung war absolut schön. Auch keine Sorgen über die Einnahme von Kleidern, da sie mit trockenen Kleidern zur Verfügung stehen können. Ich würde sicher empfehlen, dass jemand denkt, hier zu bleiben und wird zurück sein.

Das ist eine Überraschung. Dieser Laden hat über 300 Jahre geschichtet. Eine Silber-Familie aus allen acht Seiten. Ich habe drei Nächte gelebt. Ich habe gutes Leben mit Großmuttern. Der Preis ist angemessen. Es ist eine sehr gute Erfahrung. Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr gut, sehr nahe dem Fluss und dem Museum...

The double bed was a pathetic mattress. In this day and she comfortable beds are basic. The lamp shade was broken in our lodge and the carpets need replaced. Room 501 living room Has a strong bad doggy type smell. We couldn’t relax in the living room. It was either from the rugs or sofas. These lodges are tired and need updated. The bathrooms are dingy. The bedrooms are dark with poor lighting. Not good!

Away for 2 nights. Room spacious. Bit dusty in some parts. Bedding clean. Bathroom excellent. Spacious. Breakfast was excellent. Loads to choose from.Varied cooked options. Excellent service. Bar cosy. Had dinner in the hotel one evening. Very good. Lovely hotel set in the Perthshire countryside but not too far from Perth city centre. Hotel traditionally furnished with Scottish themes. Tartan upholstery and furnishings. Local framed pictures throughout. Hotel had varied nationalities staying,proving popular with foreign tourists.
