This boutique hotel is conveniently located in the old City. The hotel staff are very friendly and even fetched us from the train station. Hotel room is spacious and comfortable. I accidentally dropped a ring in the lobby and the staff picked up and returned to me. Very pleasant staff and highly recommended.

Die ehemalige Akademie wurde wunderschön restauriert und in ein ruhiges Boutique-Hotel verwandelt, das Sie in die chinesische Geschichte und Kultur eintauchen lässt, ohne auf Komfort verzichten zu müssen. Lage Perfekt gelegen in einer ruhigen Gegend abseits der Touristenströme, bot das Hotel nach langen Erkundungstagen einen erholsamen Rückzugsort. Die Stille und Ruhe trugen zur Authentizität des Erlebnisses bei, als wären wir wahrhaftig in eine andere Zeit gereist. Design & Atmosphäre Die Erhaltung der ursprünglichen Architektur und des Grundrisses der Akademie war atemberaubend. Jedes Detail des Hotels – von den Holzbalken bis zu den Steinwegen – strahlte historischen Charme aus. Das Ortsgefühl war so stark, dass wir uns wie Kaiser fühlten, die in die Vergangenheit zurückversetzt wurden. Zimmer Wir übernachteten in der Shuyuan Canopy Bed Suite, die makellos und exquisit gestaltet war. Die Ausstattung war sorgfältig ausgewählt und vereinte modernen Komfort mit traditioneller Eleganz. Das Himmelbett war ein Highlight und verströmte eine luxuriöse, königliche Atmosphäre. Besonders beeindruckt waren wir von den hochwertigen Teeservices, die uns eine private Teestunde im Komfort unseres Zimmers ermöglichten. Service Von unserer Ankunft an waren die Mitarbeiter außergewöhnlich – stets freundlich, hilfsbereit und herzlich. Der kostenlose Transfer vom Bahnhof war ein angenehmes und sehr geschätztes Extra, das unseren Aufenthalt prägte. Ausstattung Jede Einrichtung wurde sorgfältig gepflegt und trug zur harmonischen Gesamtgestaltung bei. Die Liebe zum Detail, die das Hotel bis ins kleinste Detail ausstrahlte, sorgte für ein bereicherndes und entspannendes Erlebnis. Frühstück Einzig das Frühstück, das in einer traditionellen 9-Schalen-Box serviert wurde, bot wenig Abwechslung und erinnerte eher an ein Schulessen als an ein luxuriöses Erlebnis. Wir hätten uns mehr Auswahl und die Möglichkeit gewünscht, unsere Gerichte selbst auszuwählen, anstatt ein vorgefertigtes Menü zu erhalten. Mit einem verbesserten Frühstücksservice wäre dieses Hotel einfach perfekt. Abschließende Gedanken Dieser Aufenthalt war eines unserer einzigartigsten und unvergesslichsten Reiseerlebnisse. Eine perfekte Mischung aus Tradition, Gastfreundschaft und Komfort. Wir würden sofort wiederkommen – und beim nächsten Mal hoffentlich mit einem Frühstückserlebnis, das dem Rest des Hotels in nichts nachsteht.

It was just an absolutely amazing experience from the very beginning and until the very end of our stay, not even just in the hotel, but in the city of Pingyao itself in general. Me and my friend are traveling very light and without guides, and in Pingyao we had only one day: from evening to evening of the next day. Huge huge thanks to everyone who made this day unforgettable and ultimately comfortable for tired us: Alice, Helen, Fenny, Hana, and all others who was there for us. The hotel service is simply excellent: as soon as they learned about our late arrival, they immediately offered to meet us at the railway station, which was absolutely the sweetest thing. They brought us to the city gate, met us there, and walked us to the hotel. There they gave us a map, on which they explained in great detail where everything is, what is worth paying attention to, how it is better to build the route, and what opening hours different sights have. They also helped us organize a private transfer to Shaolin Temple the next morning. It was just perfect: we got there in 15 minutes instead of one and a half hours by foot, and after our walk in the temple they met us and brought us back. Also on the evening of arrival they helped us immediately buy the ticket for visiting all attractions of the city, valid for three days. And also they advised us where to eat, and gave us a hotel discount in both places. We did not regret it even once, the food was amazingly delicious in both places! The hotel itself is just wonderful: it really looks exactly like in the photos. You want to photograph every corner and record how the sparrows are chirping on the roof, and how two wonderful cats are meowing. The room also matches and even exceeds expectations. A huge kang bed, very comfortable. Excellent shower with everything needed. Breakfast is included in the stay: the traditional Chinese one was very tasty! Unfortunately, we did not manage to eat the egg, it was freshly boiled and still hot, but we were hurrying to Shaolin Temple by opening time. Also the hotel has a laundry service, and special thanks for that too! Washing and drying were very fast, and we got our nicely smelling clothes back already after four hours, which was critical for us, because we were leaving the same day. We felt like we really were honored guests, and we really appreciated it, even if only for one day.

Das Überraschendste an meiner Reise nach Datong ist, dass das B&B in einer wohlhabenden Gegend der antiken Stadt liegt. Man kann die Tür öffnen und in die geschäftige Stadt eintreten, aber die Tür schließen und sich ruhig und wohl fühlen. Das B&B liegt weniger als 5 Gehminuten von den im Internet bekannten Restaurants 369 Coarse Rice Restaurant, Long Juxiang und Shunyi Liangfen entfernt. Nach dem Anstehen können Sie bequem zu Fuß dorthin gehen. Der Service des Besitzers ist aufmerksam, das B&B ist elegant eingerichtet und die Einrichtungen im Inneren sind super neu, der gleiche Standard wie ein 5-Sterne-Hotel. Die Bettwäsche ist sauber und bequem und meine Tochter möchte nicht gehen. Ich habe es meinen Kollegen empfohlen und werde dieses Fünf-Sterne-B&B wählen, wenn ich das nächste Mal nach Datong komme!

Extremely happy with my stay here! Room is very spacious and clean, and I was within walking distance to most of the attractions and restaurants. The staff here are very friendly and they always went out of their way to make my experience in Datong memorable! I'm especially grateful because the manager showed me how to order food from local restaurants using my phone and get it delivered straight to my room! 10/10!!

We took a 23-day trip through China, staying in 9 different hotels. Without hesitation, I can say that our stay at Floral stood out in many ways. First, the hotel's structure is very beautiful and has been renovated while staying true to the traditional style of the region. The hotel room itself was probably the most beautiful we had seen on our entire trip: spacious, with windows that actually opened, good air conditioning, and modern decor and furniture without being over the top. Second, the hotel's location is within the boundaries of the city wall and is part of the old town, so beautiful to walk around and see the traditional houses - many of them renovated according to the traditional style. And third and most importantly, the kindness of the people who work at the hotel. I have never felt so welcome anywhere on holiday as at this place. Unfortunately, I arrived with health problems and needed antibiotics - equivalents of the ones I had brought from Europe. I asked the reception where I could find the closest pharmacy, but rather than guiding me there, Xiao Liu, the lady at the reception, figured out for me which antibiotic would be the right one and got it for me. The same when we needed a suitcase, rather than sending me to the shop she inquired about our desired suitcase and in one hour it was there. Drinks are complementary at any time of the day, and the breakfast (Chinese and international - sandwiches) was generous and unlimited. When we were running late coming back from the grottoes and needed to catch a train, Xiao Liu helped us out by bringing us all our suitcases directly to the train station. We will never forget all these acts of kindness and we are still grateful to her and the entire hotel staff for making us feel so much at home. Datong will stay in our minds and hearts forever thanks to the people of the Floral hotel. Datong is special enough for all the incredible cultural sights you can visit - but our stay there will never be forgotten thanks to the beauty of the Floral Hotel and its amazing people. The service provided by the staff was first class. The breakfast variety was fabulous as well. There is a night street side food market opposite the hotel which provides interesting food and snacks options. There was also a big park opposite the hotel which provides a good running route.

This hotel has a big problem: air-conditioning AC works very poorly. Sometimes it works well for a couple of hours and then it stops. We were there in May and it was very difficult to sleep. We would set the temperature to 18° but the air conditioning system would say that the temperature in the room was 27-28 degrees. If not for inability to sleep as a result of air-conditioning system not working properly, this is a good hotel. The staff are always trying to help, it is quiet, the breakfast is actually very good. The breakfast was unusually good: huge selection, exotic and interesting tasty dishes, I will miss it. The location is convenient if you plan to visit the ancient city and to the museum.

Ich habe noch nie eine so lange Rezension geschrieben, aber dies ist meine erste ausführliche Bewertung für das Jinzhai. Zunächst einmal meine Meinung: Ich bin überaus zufrieden. Man kann es kaum glauben, dass dieses Hotel schon über zehn Jahre geöffnet ist. Sowohl die Instandhaltung als auch die Einrichtung sind exquisit. Entworfen von einem ausländischen Designer vor über zehn Jahren, ist es zeitlos und wird es auch immer bleiben. Die abendliche Beleuchtung ist eine wahrhaft authentische chinesische Ästhetik – weder zu hell noch zu dunkel, einfach perfekt. Die Sauberkeit im Jinzhai ist tadellos, selbst bei genauer Betrachtung durch einen sehr detailverliebten Menschen. Das Frühstück ist köstlich; wer noch Hunger hat, kann sich gerne Nachschlag holen. Der Schwarztee und der Pu-Erh-Tee werden aus hochwertigen Teeblättern (nicht aus Teebeuteln) zubereitet, und saisonales Obst wird gewaschen und steht im Restaurantbereich zur Selbstbedienung bereit. (Ich esse fast jeden Tag zwei Pfirsiche 🍑). Das Personal bietet einen persönlichen Service – freundlich, aufmerksam und sorgfältig. Viele Hotels sind luxuriös eingerichtet, aber das vermittelt oft ein Gefühl der Distanz. Jinzhai vermittelt jedoch ein Gefühl von Geborgenheit, ein Gefühl von Zuhause. Wenn Sie traditionelle nordchinesische Wohnkultur erleben möchten und Pingyao besuchen, sollten Sie Jinzhai unbedingt besichtigen. Allein wegen Jinzhai würde ich jederzeit wieder nach Pingyao reisen.
