Yes the room was dated, and yes the room was hot. However the room was clean, comfortable and a fan was provided to help circulate the warm air. The windows have restricted openings most likely due to H&S but with the fan it was enough to move the warm air out and allow cooler air in. Check up was chaotic but the lady apologized and explained they had a member of the staff off sick. She worked her way through everyone as quickly as she could giving everyone the same warm welcome. Breakfast was enjoyable and the spa area was a delight offering everything you need. After checking out I realized I left my sunglasses in the room. The cleaning team were so helpful allowing me access to retrieve them and to double check I had everything

Das Hotel war sehr einfach zu finden und der Zugang war ziemlich gut. Gute Parkplatz-Veranstaltung mit dem Rat für 2 Tage. Enttäuschung das Hotel bot kein Abendessen, so dass wir ausgehen und finden, was nicht ideal war, als wir bei der Buchung ein Restaurant auf der Website bemerkt. Nur Coach Partys wären Unterhaltung offensichtlich. Frühstück bedeckte heiße & kontinentale, was für uns gut war. Unser Zimmer war jedoch weit von uns zufriedenstellend, aber wir tolerierten es und klachten nicht. Das Badtürhandbuch war schwierig zu öffnen, so anstatt es zu beheben, legten sie ein Zeichen auf die Tür und sagten uns, was zu tun.. Das Bad blind war auch gebrochen. Das sehr kleine Zimmer hatte ein kleines Bett, das weit von komfortablen war. Wir bezahlten viel für 2 Nächte, die wir bedauern, so leider werden wir nicht zurück.

The grand exterior of the hotel is impressive, but the rooms are very dated. There is no air conditioning, so booking a room with a window is a must for summer. I booked a window room, though the window required some effort to open. Some rooms do provide fans. On the plus side, the price is budget-friendly, and the location is incredibly convenient, right next to the beach and the cliff tram, with shops within easy walking distance. Note that check-out is early at 10AM, and late check-out requires an extra fee. Also, the hotel does not offer free parking, you will need to find paid street parking nearby. It isn’t expensive, but it takes time to find a space during holidays.

We had the most gorgeous stay at No.1 Guest House - if there wasn’t so much to see and do in York we would have happily just stayed in and enjoyed the hotel all weekend. The staff were amazing, especially Ellie, who made us feel so welcome and couldn’t do enough for us. We loved just sitting in the bar area with a cocktail (the rosy margarita was amazing) and looking at all the art and the cute steam train. The hotel is sooo cosy and perfect for this time of year. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful hotel only 10 minutes walk from the city centre  Our room was clean and cosy  In the room was hairdryer, iron and ironing board as well as tea/coffee facilities and an electric fan which was definitely needed with temps reaching 29 degrees 🥵 The outdoor area was stunning with lots of seating and little pods to dine in of an evening very pretty all lit up at night  All the staff were friendly and helpful  We will definitely return in the near future.

The room initially given to us was some sort of attic. Requested for a room change and it was much better. The supervisor Shyam also took very good care of us and made our stay very much more unforgettable and very pleasant. Short walk from the train station but a bit of a walk to the Shambles and the Main Street.

Nice cosy room outside of the main hotel. Only window was a skylight that you could open, but it didn't give a lot of natural light. Bed was comfortable and shower good. Excellent amenities within the room including tea/coffee, ironing facilities and TV. Perfect location for exploring the city and the bonus of free parking. The continental breakfast was a little sparse and if you're a vegan, you may want to let the hotel know ahead of arrival. Despite the odd area for improvement, still very good value.

Der Milner York verfügt über eine große, spät gebaute Victorian-Fassade aus einem charakteristischen gelben Scarborough-Brick. Innerhalb der erstaunlichen Eintrittslobby zeigt eine wunderschöne historische Dome und elegante monochrome Fliesenboden. Das Kronjuwel des Hotels ist eine schwebende, zentrale Eisentrappe umgeben von hohen Decken. Die öffentlichen Loungen vermischen wunderschön historischen Objekt mit plush Chesterfield Sofas und Herringbone Holzböden. Die zeitgenössischen Schlafzimmer sind jedoch deutlich kleiner in Größe. Dieses kompakte Zimmer ist besonders im modernen ”Sidings” Anhang zu sehen.

Ich blieb nur für eine Nacht, aber ich war beeindruckt von der angenehmen Erholung und der organisatorischen Fähigkeit des Personals. Mein Zimmer war sehr sauber und das Bett sehr komfortabel. Schließlich hatte ich ein sehr angenehmes Frühstück mit allen Mitarbeitern sehr aufmerksam. Ich würde sicherlich noch einmal bleiben, wenn ich jemals in der Gegend war .
