Ethan Allen Hotel, Danbury, CT We recently stayed at the Ethan Allen Hotel and had a generally pleasant experience. When we walked into the lobby, we were impressed by how welcoming and well-maintained it was. There was a convenient self-serve coffee and tea station with water and all the necessary condiments, which was a nice touch. Check-in was quick and easy. We were given a room on the first floor. Upon entering, we found the room to be very clean and spacious. Although we didn’t unpack, there was ample space for clothing and storage. A desk and chair were available, which would be useful for anyone needing to get work done. The room also included a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker with pods, teabags, and all the condiments, very convenient. The TV was a good size and worked well. That said, the room itself is definitely in need of some upgrades. The sheers were broken and hanging off the hooks, and the privacy curtains were difficult to close. Both the curtains and sheers appeared worn and could use a good cleaning. The ceiling panels were noticeably yellowed, and while the bathroom was clean, it too showed signs of age. On a positive note, the towels were plentiful and of nice quality, and I appreciated the makeup mirror in the bathroom. The bed was very clean and comfortable. In summary, this hotel has many good qualities, especially in terms of cleanliness, comfort, and service. However, I would love to see the guest rooms updated to better match the inviting look and feel of the lobby. I would consider staying here again, especially if room renovations were made.

I didn't realize there was no surface lots and I'd have to pay $25/day for parking. I might have missed that in the description so that's not really an issue. We were given a room on the top floor, in practically the farthest corner away from the elevator which was quiet, but far away from the rest of my daughter's teammates who were staying on lower floors. We dropped our stuff and went right to the pool. There were only 4 chairs and no towels left so we had to go searching for them and most of our stuff got wet sitting on the floor so that was frustrating. The signs on each floor say ”ice and vending” but the floors I checked had ice machines only and I had to resort to paying $4.00 for a can of orange soda at the bar for my daughter. The store in the hotel was closed, though I'm not sure if it would've been cheaper. After swimming and hanging out in the spacious lobby, we returned to our room to realize it wasn't very clean but it was time for my daughter to shower and go to bed since she had a gymnastics meet at 7:45 am. I took pictures of the hair tie in the sink, the bug on the bathroom floor, the hair on the vanity and floor, the stains on the bed skirt, etc. Kind of disappointed bc I usually stay at Marriott hotels for work and never have these issues. The coffee shop in the lobby was quick the next morning though which was good since we had to get up so early.

My first night at the hotel was fantastic, setting a positive tone for my stay. The second night brought a few challenges—minimal bathroom ventilation, a louder air conditioner, and some trouble connecting to Wi-Fi. However, the hotel staff were attentive and promptly offered me a new room, which resolved these issues and provided a much smoother experience. I took advantage of the fitness center, though navigating the new treadmills was a bit tricky since they weren’t pre-programmed. While the pool closure was disappointing, the hotel acknowledged my concerns and generously offered me a complimentary dinner with a drink. On the third night, I accidentally left my car keys behind when heading out in the morning. Upon returning, my key card didn’t work, but the staff quickly resolved the issue. Later, I relaxed in my room, appreciating the view despite a minor inconvenience with a broken curtain rod. Once again, the hotel addressed my concerns with care, granting me a complimentary night and a refund as a gesture of goodwill. While the hotel has room for improvement with its facilities, the staff truly stood out with their professionalism, teamwork, and genuine efforts to ensure my comfort. Their dedication turned what could have been a frustrating experience into one that left me feeling valued. I look forward to staying here again in the future.

Ein sehr schönes Stadthaus-Hotel nicht weit von der Innenstadt von Hartford entfernt. Im Obergeschoss und im Erdgeschoss befinden sich 2 separate Schlafzimmer. Die Küche mit Elektroherd, Backofen, Spülmaschine, Mikrowelle, Küchenutensilien und Geschirr sind im Raum vorhanden, der sich sehr gut zum Selbstkochen eignet. . Das Parken ist kostenlos, es ist sehr gut für die ganze Familie mit Kindern geeignet und wir werden das nächste Mal buchen. 🤗

Der Ort ist sehr abgelegen, aber wenn Sie fahren, gibt es keinen großen Unterschied. Das Zimmer ist sauber und sauber, die Einrichtungen sind relativ alt, das Frühstück ist auch relativ einfach, im Allgemeinen ist es eine gute Erfahrung

Nur für die Nacht geblieben, aber liebte es. Wir blieben im King Zimmer und es war groß. Der Innenpool war auch toll. Kostenlose Parkplätze außerhalb des Hotels und im Hotelgrund waren ausgezeichnet. Und nur ein 10-15 min Fahrt nach Mystic und Groton. Ein großer Aufenthalt zum Preis.

The price is great! They are fully staffed and courtesy. They have a pool and the lobby is very clean. However, in all honesty, there needs to be a day of DEEP CLEANING. Spiderwebs and dusty walls and stair case. Stained window curtains and bed sheets. Bathroom vents revealed other room arguing very clearly. And the stained towels I really did not like! Luckily I keep face clothes & towels with me. And even pillows and blankets to throw on top of theirs. Oh and I really disliked the “hot” breakfast thru offer. Only thing hot is one waffle maker for entire hotel. No eggs. Only protein was protein peanut butter bars & that’s not good protein and some ppl allergic to nuts. No dairy free options if I recall for the cereal. And only orange juice no other juice alternatives. Just very basic but overall I would give 3 1/2 stars bc it could be worse. I am more concerned more so with the cleanliness of the everywhere outside the lobby, sheets & towels can be replaced.

Visited the area to attend a graduation ceremony at New Haven. This I was told is a brand new hotel so everything was top of the line - both facilities and services… Their breakfast is generous with a reasonable variety of morning meals .. my fav was the waffle and the fresh fruits. The room was very clean spacious and quiet. Staff are friendly and very professional..Because I needed to go to the city center on a daily bases, I was offered free rides via their accommodating clean shuttle van driven by very respectful and highly professional drivers. I stayed 6 nights and very much enjoyed my stay .. Toward the end of my stay I discovered that there are nice venues to explore directly next or near the hotel. i.e. a cinema complex, Olive Garden restaurant, Barnes and Nobles bookstore, Target, Chic Fillet and many more. Will certainly try it again if I ever come back to New Haven. Thanks to all of the Team, I sure did have a great experience!
