I had a good stay with my girlfriend at The Tytherington. The only thing we were unhappy with was the food. It took about 1 hour to receive our food, and we were also told different information about the Kitchen closure time. Likely, we could give our order on time, but someone who was served after us was not able to. It seemed that on the day we visited, the kitchen staff was either short-staffed or had other issues. The staff behind the counter looked inexperienced, with only 1 or 2 who knew what to do, though they had too much to do already and couldn't assist. The view from their garden was great, over their golf pitch.

The Mill Hotel & Spa is in an ideal location, just 5 minutes walk from Chester train station and the centre of Chester itself. So, what is a stay in this hotel like? I stayed in the Business Class Double room with a view of the canal. The room is a fair size, with the king size bed being very comfortable and clean. A big drawback for the room, however, is the lack of air conditioning facilities available. I stayed at the end of July, and whilst the outside wasn’t hot, the room itself was stuffy and opening the window didn’t really help too much. I can’t imagine what it would be like staying here in during a heatwave, which is becoming more common! The room also comes with decent tea and coffee making facilities, along with a desk for working. The bathroom is a good size, but it could do with a bit of cleaning. There are two shower nozzles - the smaller standard nozzle was fine but the rainfall shower nozzle was extremely dirty. It looks like it hasn’t been used in a while - and I’d recommend not using that particular shower if you stay here. The extractor fan vent is also very dusty and obviously hasn’t been cleaned in a while! Over to the spa facilities - they are nothing short of exceptional. This is the real draw when staying here, with the swimming pool and sauna being to an excellent standard. Use of the swimming pool and gym is free to all guests whilst staying here, so make good use of the facilities! I opted for the inclusion of breakfast during my stay, and I’d say it was ok rather than great. The amount of food available isn’t huge, though the likes of the croissants and cooked breakfast are to a good standard. As the hotel is in need of an update - it firmly feels like it’s stuck in the mid noughties - the hotel does excel in the standard of service provided to its customers. Whether that be from the cleaners, the reception staff or the waiting staff, everyone is smiling and friendly. It makes all the difference! Would I stay here again? Yes, I would. I hope they do update the rooms soon enough - they really do need air conditioning! And I also hope the bathrooms were thoroughly cleaned a little more. But everything else was to a good standard and for the price paid (£90 for two people with breakfast and spa facilities included), you can’t find much better than that!

For a normal size breakfast you had to pay extra, the heating was broken in the spa so it was quite cold. The hotel did look a bit tatty in places. Service was lacking, always had to chase the staff members. Lovely building and good location.

**Hotel Review: Crewe Hall Hotel and Spa, Cheshire** As a solo traveler with my beloved sausage dog, Stanley, I recently had the opportunity to stay at Crewe Hall Hotel and Spa for one night. Here’s my experience: **Location:** The location of the hotel is absolutely excellent. Nestled in beautiful grounds, it provides a serene backdrop for relaxation and exploration. The picturesque setting truly enhances the overall experience. **Arrival and Service:** Unfortunately, my arrival experience was somewhat disappointing. The service upon check-in felt slow and not particularly welcoming. There was no offer of assistance with my luggage or guidance on where I could take Stanley, which left me feeling a bit lost. I expected a more hospitable reception, especially given the hotel’s reputation. **Room Quality:** On a positive note, the room was clean and well-appointed, featuring a lovely spacious bathroom that included a plush robe and complimentary toiletries such as shampoo and soap. I appreciated the mini bar, which had complimentary water, adding a nice touch to my stay. **Room Service:** One downside was the room service hours, which ended at 10 PM. I arrived at 8:15 PM and was informed of this limitation, which felt a bit early for a hotel of this caliber. It would have been nice to have more flexible dining options during my stay. **Dining:** The hotel itself is stunning, and the grounds are a joy to explore. I had breakfast at the brasserie restaurant, where the attentive staff made a significant difference. The breakfast was wonderful, with a variety of delicious options that set a positive tone for my day. **Overall Impression:** While my stay had its ups and downs, the beautiful setting and the quality of the accommodations were highlights. I hope that the service experience can be improved for future guests, as that would truly elevate the stay. I would consider returning, especially for the lovely grounds and excellent breakfast, but I would hope for a more welcoming atmosphere next time.

The location of this hotel is great, very close to Chester and all the attractions around. In terms of the room, our room was very spacious and the bed was very big. However it was two singles joined together, so a gap between the two. This is probably where the good bits end. The size of the room and bathroom really was a positive though, especially travelling with a baby. We had to pay £5 to hire a travel cot and in the end we didn’t use it. The cot mattress appears to have never been replace and was very thin and lumpy, making it redundant. The wooden slates at the bottom of the crib could be felt very dominantly through what was left of the mattress, meaning our baby was waking up uncomfortable and we had to transfer him to the bed. In terms of things that could do with improvement: Cleanliness The room floor was very dirty and could have benefited from an additional vacuum. Initially I put this down to arriving on New Year’s Day and then having a lot of people check out that day, but the whole hotel appeared a little bit grubby on closer inspection. The spa pool was exceptionally dirty. The floor coming out of the changing room covered in hair and general dirt. The showers looked like they hadn’t had a good scrub in months, with yellow build up all over the floor and walls. Not what you expect from a spa! To top it off after swimming I have contracted the Norovirus. Service Our first encounter with the reception staff was great the lady very welcoming and friendly. We met the cleaner as well who was also lovely. The rest of the staff we encountered were not so great. Either rude or disinterested, I get that it might not be your dream job but service with a smile goes a long way. Facilities The hot water takes a while to come through at busier times, this is signposted in the room. However, the water does not get very water at all. It does come through at a pleasant temperature, but not great if you like a bath or shower on the warmer side. There are three times a day when you can go swimming with children. It would be great if these times were restricted to children/families only, as there were quite a few adults sitting around the poolside and in the hot tub. Breakfast was ok, but a lot of the time left uncovered. Overall not a great stay and would be unlikely to stay again.

Stayed here twice before and was satisfied with experience.  Unfortunately, this time, I had to change the room as the curtains were falling down and wouldn’t close.  The replacement room they gave me smelled of sweat and wee.   Other than that the hotel is nice and reasonably priced.  Parking is good.  Cleaning needs to be prioritised to improve the experience

The room is big (designed for a family of four) decorated in nerf theme, kids would love it. All is good but our shower tap is not functioning well, only gives out boiling hot water which we had to use the bath and let the water cool down a bit before we can use a towel to wash. Not the best but image it’s a good place for family with young kids. Walls are thin, we can hear next door running and snoring. Ear plugs ensured a good night sleep :D

GGastnutzerI took my wife here for her 60th, amazing staff receptionist charlotte was warm and knowledgable, very kind giving us a token due to birthday. The infinity pool is amazing warm clean, Shrigley would make much more money if they served drinks while in the pool, but we would still be there now. The rooms are adiquate they are clean, the shower's are amazing, Dinning for evenning meal again was excellent, the service is 11/10 and I have been in a number of Spa the meal cost were really well priced with excellent food. VV S DwaraTitle: Alderley Edge Hotel: Victorian Elegance Meets Modern Comfort in Cheshire Review: Nestled in the heart of Cheshire, Alderley Edge Hotel offers a charming blend of Victorian heritage and contemporary luxury. Originally a grand 19th-century villa, the hotel has been thoughtfully transformed into a stylish 50-room retreat, maintaining its historic character while providing modern amenities. Location & Ambience: Situated just off Alderley Edge’s bustling high street, the hotel is perfectly positioned for guests to explore the village’s trendy boutiques, restaurants, and bars. The nearby sandstone ridge, known as “The Edge,” offers scenic woodland walks and panoramic views, adding to the area’s allure. Accommodation: Guests have praised the hotel for its cleanliness and comfort. Rooms are well-appointed, featuring modern furnishings and amenities such as Temple Spa toiletries, free Wi-Fi, and tea and coffee facilities. While some guests have noted that certain rooms can be on the smaller side, the overall comfort and ambiance receive high marks. Dining Experience: The hotel’s restaurant, set within a rebuilt conservatory, offers a bright and airy dining space. Guests have highlighted the quality of the food, particularly the grilled fish dishes and Sunday roasts. The bar and outdoor garden seating provide additional spaces to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Service & Facilities: The staff at Alderley Edge Hotel are frequently commended for their friendliness and professionalism, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. Facilities include free parking with electric charging stations, pet-friendly accommodations (with an additional charge), and well-maintained gardens. However, it’s worth noting that the hotel does not have leisure facilities or a gym. Guest Feedback: Overall, guests have expressed satisfaction with their stays, citing the hotel’s cleanliness, location, and service as standout features. Some have mentioned minor issues such as thin walls leading to noise disturbances and occasional maintenance concerns in the bathrooms. Despite these, the consensus remains positive, with many guests indicating a desire to return. Conclusion: Alderley Edge Hotel successfully marries historical charm with modern comforts, making it a delightful choice for travelers seeking a serene yet convenient base in Cheshire. Whether you’re exploring the local countryside or indulging in the village’s vibrant scene, this hotel offers a memorable and comfortable stay.

GGastnutzerOn first impressions the hotel looks very rundown, however, it is under new ownership from November and the staff are working hard to get the place up and running again as the place closed for several years. The bedrooms are spacious warm and the bed is so comfy as they have brand new beds, linen and towels. There is no restaurant or bar and the lift doesn't work. Also no seating or shelter area outside. There were some very noisy guests on new years eve. But that was probably the same for all hotels. For the price and location I would recommend
