Whittlebury Hall and Spa

I did have a lovely time, the steam rooms were great and I especially loved the crystal and salt steam room. Lovely lunch though not a lot of vegetarian options, or options for those of us that can’t eat fish. I was expecting a bit more of an experience for the “ice room” as it was literally just a pit in the wall with shredded ice in it and 2 cold showers, so maybe a small bench or something of the sort to sit and “cool” off would’ve made that experience all the better. I do have to say for the main “hot tub” pool surrounded by the steam rooms, the chlorine was insufferable. I was there for the full day experience so maybe that’s my fault but considering I’ve gone to other full-day spas/swimming pools and have also been a swimmer since being little and never experiencing this, I was really struggling. I am asthmatic but I ended the day with such a severe chlorine cough that I couldn't keep anything down from coughing so hard and had to leave early. The chlorine was so severe that my nose was running and eyes were burning, and I can’t say that it was your usual pool “stinging”, it genuinely extremely hurt and I couldn’t stop my eyes from crying, having to pry them open just so I could see. Normally I’m completely fine with even opening my eyes under water while swimming, so this was a bit worrying to me considering I obviously was not diving or trying to swim underwater. Later, I spent the entire night in my bed with a sick bowl next to me. It’s been a few days and I’m fine now but I was definitely feeling rough and sore when breathing in for the first couple days. I did have to use my inhaler a lot more than ever before, and my chest hurt so much. I’ve never experienced anything like this before and this is certainly not my first spa day experience. I’d say please be careful if you’re an asthmatic/have lung issues, as the chemicals are definitely a huge trigger in the symptoms. I know everything states that the chlorine levels are within requirements but there is literally absolutely no way they’re not higher than average. Maybe a better air flow would have helped. Left the spa feeling worse than when I came in unfortunately. I’m not writing this for some pity or any kind of response, I really just want others to be careful as my chest is still recovering. A half day or even just a couple hours would’ve probably saved me a lot of pain (literally)!! I’d love to come back but there is absolutely no way I would do the day experience package again.

Stayed there last week and enjoyed the experience. The staff in Aston restaurant were wonderful, nothing was too much to ask. We asked for burgers even though it wasn’t on the menu. Leonadra asked the chef and we enjoyed our burgers. The staff in the pool area were very nice and welcoming. I would go back again.

Went here on Saturday 20th April with my wife. I’d been to the Silverstone Grand Prix but apart from that had not been to this part of the UK. The hotel itself is very close to the circuit and about a half hour drive from Bletchley Park museum. Prior to arriving I had read mixed reviews so was a little apprehensive as to what it what it would be like. On arrival parking was easy and only a short walk to reception, checking in was super quick. We had booked a club room which included robes and wine, it was a nice size with a view over the golf course and had all the trappings I would expect to see such as fridge, safe, plenty of storage and a nice size en-suite . Had two great nights sleep, Had an evening meal on both nights in the Aston restaurant, very reasonably priced and very quite simply lovely! The service also was excellent, special mention to our waitress Grace who was extremely attentive . The Silverstone Bar was very homely and also reasonably priced . If I was to be ultra picky I would say that the reception area could do with a little sprucing up, also good as the food and service were in the Aston restaurant , it is a windowless room with all the tables set out in rows which I felt was a little strange . That said it was a lovely weekend and I would not hesitate to come back again and I would also recommend the hotel to others . Thanks very much

The check-in staff and experience was faultless. The room was great as we're all the facilities. Breakfast could have been better 3 chances to get a boiled egg right! The grounds we very well kept the on site golf course looked good however we did not use it

Stayed in a group of seven on a golf package. The golf course, hotel, food and service were all excellent. The bar was welcoming and service prompt. Our only complaint was that the clubhouse bar which is a short distance from the hotel shut at 4pm. This was the only place where you could watch live sport. Closing so early seemed strange as people were still playing golf, then entering the bar only to be told it had closed and they had to go to the hotel. Needs a re-think from management.

AMAZING SERVICE - thanks to George. The weekend was wonderful but the only memorable person was George. Thank you for your great service, you have made my weekend. This 5 star review is solely based on our experience dining with Georg. He is a superstar, absolutely made our trip. He is an asset the the business and deserves a promotion like yesterday!!!! Honestly. The best dining experience we have had. He was charming, funny, Attentive and his service was second to none. I would recommend family and friends to this establishment on any day that George is working. Once again, thank you George, you made whole weekend memorable, thank you!!! FAO of managers - as a manager in a prestige dealership the service that George gave us exactly what I would want my team to give, please make sure he is appreciated and shown all the love.

The Twilight Spa offers a tranquil experience, but it seems to be showing its age compared to contemporary standards. While the services provided are commendable, a refresh in its aesthetics and amenities could enhance the overall guest experience, ensuring it keeps pace with the evolving expectations of spa enthusiasts. An update could reinvigorate the space, making it a more inviting and modern retreat for relaxation and rejuvenation.
