Wheyrigg Hall Hotel

Stayed over last weekend and what a find this place is !! Everything about the place is fantastic from the rooms to the food and the friendly locals, and best of all the Staff !! They seriously are just THE friendliest and most helpful staff you could ever wish to meet !! Friday steak night was just sublime and a real good bargain, breakfast on both days was also first class as was the price and selection of beers not your usual rip off prices that you find in out of the way hotels Countryside views all around and so quiet and peaceful with a nice beer garden to relax in too Won't hesitate to stay again if in that area and would very highly recommend to all !!

What a gem of a place. Couldn’t fault it. Warm and friendly staff . Exceptionally clean room, comfortable bed. Plenty of parking. Great food, extensive menu. Friday steak night is one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Will definitely revisit.

Last minute on Christmas eve as our camper van broke down Helen was so accomodating stating they were closed but nevertheless gave us a room only Spotlessly clean very comfortable room in beautiful area Helen was very friendly a lovely person and we would definatly recommend this hotel to all.

Stayed for a couple of nights while working in the area and can't really fault it. Food great and room comfortable if a little bit dated. Good shower with plenty of hot water!

What a find! Booked via a Wowcher deal, so we weren't expecting it to be amazing. How wrong we were!! The hotel is situated in a gloriously peaceful location, yet just a 10/15 minute drive from various areas of interest. The hotel itself, although maybe a little dated in terms of decor, was immaculately clean and well presented. A lovely warm and inviting bar area, with incredibly reasonable prices for the drinks. We ate there on both nights of our stay and, without doubt, it was some of the best food we'd ever eaten....Freshly prepared, delicious and very reasonably. My Partner actually went as far as to say that the chicken dish she'd had was "probably the best thing I've ever eaten!" Friday night was steak night, it gets very busy, and the steaks were cooked to perfection! Our room was much larger than we expected it to be, was very well decorated and spotlessly clean! Finally, I have to mention the staff. Every single one we came into contact with was incredibly friendly, professional and welcoming...A credit to the hotel. Without hesitation, when we get the chance to visit the area again, we'll stay at The Wheyrigg Hotel.

Booked this on a Wowcher deal and it didn't disappoint. Ideally situated for exploring the Lake District (about 35 mins to Keswick) Wheyrigg Hall Hotel whilst on a main road is a bit off the beaten track but don't let that put you off because they have a great comfortable bar and beer garden and great food so you don't need anything else really after a long day exploring. Friday night steak night is not to be missed! Best steaks we've ever had, and the normal menu is just as nice. Plenty of choice so even if you're staying more than a couple of nights there's always something different to eat. There are plenty of tables so never a worry about getting seated. Fabulous breakfast choices as well. Rooms are fine - clean and spacious. Can't fault it. Will definitely go back.

Perfect stopover place after playing Solfest. Really friendly helpful staff. Comfortable beds. Clean. Reall tasty, much needed, hangover curing breakfast in the morning. Would highly recommend. Beautiful surroundings.

Just returned from a 2 night stay. Not very impressive from the outside when you first arrive. However, the Whey Rigg is impressive in its staff, food and cleanliness. It’s a very good 3 star country hotel. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, big shout out to Grace who even carried our case upstairs for us, as well as giving us excellent service in the restaurant. Prices for food and drinks are extremely reasonable. We would definitely return.

Having now stayed at the ' Wheyrigg Hall Hotel' for the last 5 /6 years, we can say that, Helen & her team, Grace, Chelsea, the chef's the boys and girls, are just the best! Comfortable 'homely rooms' the food & choice simply the best' the staff are wonderful, they go out of their way to please, { in every conceivable way } they are second to none in their abilities!
