Fabulous location near enough to the port to be walking distance, but far enough away for it to be peaceful. We had room 22 - family room with sitting area - and it was great! Lovely decor, comfy beds, small fridge with tea making facilities. Breakfast was out of this world - Swedes love their brekkie, however in 2 weeks of touring this was the most outstanding! Viggo made our stay even better by being super helpful and a mine of knowledge about local restaurants and places to visit. Thank you! Parking is available opposite for a small fee. 2 hours a day free.

Die Anlage ist schön gelegen direkt am Wasser, wird aber leider zu wenig gepflegt. Wir hatten einen Bungalow ohne Meerblick, der schön groß und gut eingerichtet war. Er hatte sogar 2 Terrassen mit Gartenmöbeln. Das ganze Resort ist sehr groß, entsprechend viele Gäste waren auch am Pool. Vor allem viele kleine Kinder, wodurch der Erholungswert gering war. Zudem ist das Holzdeck um den Pool herum SEHR rutschig, Achtung: Sturzgefahr! Das ist nicht durchdacht, sondern gefährlich. Überhaupt ist an den Gebäuden viel Holz, das öfter gestrichen werden müsste. Die Klimaanlage funktionierte im Bungalow nicht, Hilfe nahte rasch, konnte aber auch nicht viel ausrichten. Hätte das Reinigungspersonal die Vorhänge geschlossen und vorher gut gelüftet, wäre es nicht so heiß gewesen. Alles Kleinigkeiten, die es zu bemängeln gab, aber die summieren sich. Einmal vergaßen sie neue Handtücher hinzulegen, die Nachlieferung dauerte eine Stunde und bedurfte zweier Anrufe. Das Frühstück lässt eigentlich keine Wünsche offen, es ist alles da. Das Personal wirkt aber derartig unmotiviert, dass man es schütteln möchte. Es werden keine benutzten Teller abgeräumt, auch die vom Tau feuchten Tische nicht abgewischt. Da müsste jemand besser drauf achten! Oder das Personal besser bezahlen?! Empfehlung eingeschränkt.

Wunderbares Hotel, perfekte Lage nur wenige Minuten zu Fuß von Stora Torget. Saubere, gemütliche Zimmer, fantastisches Frühstück, angenehmes Personal, sehr vernünftig bezahlt. Viel Straßenparkplätze verfügbar, als wir da waren (beginn Mai). (*) Es gibt jedoch etwas, das wir gerne aufmerksam machen möchten. Um Wasser zu erhalten, ermutigt das Hotel seine Gäste, ”Nein zu Zimmerreinigung sagen”, Waschhandschuhe und Bettwäsche auf ein Minimum zu halten. Groß in der Theorie, vor allem wenn Sie nur ein paar Nächte da sind. Wir hatten einen längeren Aufenthalt und hätten unser Zimmer gern ein bisschen aufgetaucht (jetzt bezahlen wir den Service). Da kein Personal ins Zimmer kam, um unser Aufenthalt zu beenden, mussten wir Toilettenpapier und Duschegel jagen, und unsere Müllmühle war überflüssig. Glücklich konnten wir den Empfangsmann halten, bevor sie für den Tag verließ, um eine neue TP-Rolle zu bekommen. Die meisten Hotels sauber Zimmer täglich, und ändern Handtücher, wenn die Gäste das bitten. Die Universal ”werfen Sie Handtücher auf dem Badezimmerboden, wenn Sie neue wollen” hätte gut funktioniert bei Hotel Slottsbacken. Wir waren mit dem Gefühl verlassen, dass wir während wir versuchen, um Umweltbewusst zu sein, wir den Reinigungsmann einen kostenlosen Pass geben. Das sagten wir, wir würden absolut wieder im Hotel Slottsbacken bleiben, wenn wir jemals nach Gotland zurückkehren.

Die Hotelanlage besteht aus 8 (!) Häusern, einem Restaurant, einer Rezeption und einem Pool. Wenn man von der Fähre kommt und nicht gleich ganz vorne rausfahren kann sind lange Wartezeiten einprogrammiert bis man endlich seinen Zimmerschlüssel hat. Wegen Corona konnte man nur einzeln zur Rezeption und so standen wir ca. 30 Minuten außen bei 32° Celsius. Wir erhielten Zimmer 825, also im Haus 8, am weitesten weg von dem Restaurant, Pool, usw. Sehr kleines Zimmer, keine Klimaanlage, tatsächlich meint man das nicht überleben zu können. Zumindest ein kleiner Ventilator war vorhanden, der die warme Luft hin und her geschoben hat. Das Fenster konnte zwar geöffnet werden aber draußen war es nicht kühler und die Geräuschkulisse durch die anderen Mitbewohner macht auch keine Freude. So schlecht haben wir schon lange nicht geschlafen. Das Zimmer hat nur das Notwendigste was man zum Übernachten braucht. Keine Klimaanlage (schon erwähnt), keinen Safe, keinen funktionierenden Kühlschrank. Auch im Badezimmer fühlt man sich stark eingeengt. Den Pool haben wegen Corona nicht genutzt. Dort waren aber eine Unmenge an Menschen drin. Es war die einzige Möglichkeit sich abzukühlen und eine Infektion in Kauf zu nehmen. Das Restaurant dient zum Frühstücken und zum Abendessen. Für 8 Häuser war es viel zu klein! Hat man dann endlich einen Tisch ergattert war das Personal mit dem Nachfüllen am Buffet überfordert. Ständig fehlte es an Besteck, usw. Die Leute nahmen teilweise die Käse- und Wurstscheiben mit den Fingern von den Platten. Die Butter war ungekühlt auf einem Teller und lief davon. Wohl fühlen kann man sich da nicht. Letztendlich gibt es zwar einen optisch großen Parkplatz, aber die Parkplätze waren ständig Mangelware. Wir waren sehr froh nach er ersten Nacht in ein anderes Hotel umziehen zu können.
