Royal San Marco Hotel

İ made reservation on Royal San Marco hotel but they gave us a different room on a different building ( 150 meters to hotel) every morning we are walking to hotel for breakfast. İf i want to stay ona a residence i was make reservation to residence, i made reservation to 4* hotel it was really bad experience

Our room was on the fifth floor. No WiFi during our entire stay at the hotel. Staff said no one complained so the problem must be our devices and not theirs. Cleanliness and service are not so great. A little hard to find the room for breakfast. Food was average and not a lot of options to choose from. Venice is beautiful. Overall, would not recommend this hotel.

Small room. Especially the toilet. Not for family. Couple of single only

Nice breakfast. Great location. But a heads up on a single room, it is more like a cot, very narrow and quite firm. I expect a tiny room, but not such a tiny bed.

Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful stay at the hotel. Our previous experience of a hotel in Venice was awful but these guys changed my perception of staying in the old city.

The hotel was in the location I wanted, so it was convenient for me to get out and about at all times. The air conditioner didn't work properly, it heated the room to one temperature, but didn't work to cool the room down. Also it was very noisy when switched on.

Superb location, just two minutes from Piazza San Marco. Immaculately clean. Breakfast was fine. Spacious room (junior suite) but very dark. Two issues of note: 1. Intermittent wi fi in the room which was very frustrating. 2. Could have done with a kettle in the room.

Rooms were a little cramped for 3 people, but that’s what you get in these historic buildings in Venice!! Seconds from St Marcos Square and tons of restaurants. There was even a singing gondolier who was right outside our window everyday (gave me that Indiana Jones moment of “ah, Venice”. Staff was extremely helpful and sent us on a free trip to Murano (which I highly recommend). Next time I’ll get a larger room, but it’s not like we did anything except sleep there.

Room desperately needs renovation. The plastic tiles on the floor popped up and you can easily fall down - it is already safety situation. The room furniture is so worn out that you have a strong feening that it was picked up on the dumpster. The hairdryer is from grandma’s youth days, the whole bathroom is super old, tiles cracked, the faucets hard to manipulate to get the right temperature for shower. We needed two separated beds, and we were told that this type of rooms are only on 5th and 6th floor, but elevator goes only up to the 4th floor. The staircase to 5 and 6 floor are metal ones, shaky and covered with worn out and dirty carpet. The hallways on these 5 and 6th floor are blocked with cleaning carts with dirty and clean laundry for the most of day-time: maybe this way the hotel creates impression on their valuable customers on the lower floors by keeping all this stuff upstairs, but for upper floor customers it is a real quest how to get through these barricades into the room. I do not even speak about how do you feel after paying for 4star hotel and find yourself in these conditions. And even check-in was not available at 2 pm! The funny thing is that the hotel published his ad on ******* as a 4-star hotel, but in reality these twins bed rooms are 1-2 star only, but they charge you for them according to the 4-star pricing.
