Medplaya Aparthotel Sant Eloi

We got a shuttle transfer we got dropped off at the bus station in town! And picked up there on way back for it to be 45 mind late They drive right past your hotel. on arrival we got the wrong room and this wasn’t rectified either staff weren’t very helpful or kind

For a start we had uncooked chicken so we thought ah must be a mistake as non of the other was raw then we had raw pork the day after and was told by the manager we should of asked for it cooked more like how is our fault we shouldnt be asking for food to be cooked more we are on holiday not at home and the drinks with all inclusive the spirits and step by drinks are watered down as it took a lot of cocktails/ vodka and commes to even feel the drinks. I came with my mother and younger sister and the raw chicken made my sister feel sick so we went to town to get her checked but we didn’t speak Spanish so we have fed to use translate and was told it was possible due to poor food or a bug and the manager is rude but the reception is very nice and the bar staff are very nice the same with the cleaning staff although the rooms are very kept to spec the rooms seem abit run down and had been told by other hotel stayers that they’re rooms had feces smeared on the wall apparently but I am not the only one who encountered the raw food as another stayer had the same and was upgraded but we was told to ask for it more cooked and apparently it is our fault. We feel like we had been taken the mick out of us for how much we spent to go on this holiday the bacon taste like your average ham you would put on your kids school lunch. Do not recommend to families or teenagers going for a lads trip. The best bit about the hotel and all inclusive is free cocktails and beer, free snack lounge plus they are a lot of flies on the food and it put me and my mother off as they was not tens but hundreds of plays on the food in the restaurant and snack lounge and I didn’t even want to thing how many flies or possible larvae we had eaten because it’s so off putting. And the electrical wiring is very worrying . Will not be coming here again

Wow, just got back from here with my 3 young children and we just had the most wonderful time. The building is SO beautiful and you can feel the history. It's been wonderfully preserved and character maintained, and surrounded by stunning scenery. Just so peaceful. It has everything you'd need and nothing you wouldn't. It's the loveliest little escape. Good: 1. Safe enclosed site and a pool that never gets deeper than an adult's neck PLUS a splash park. Fantastic for young children and so safe for them to play. 2. Lovely friendly staff and entertainment 3. Food was fine, nice stews, madras, satays etc every night. And a junk beige food buffet too. 4. Walks all around, beautiful views, wildlife 5. It has a little van shuttle to the town but honestly the children are so young I only came to swim, eat and sleep. The shore is also very steep so I wouldn't bother going to the beach with small chn. 6. Just the most beautiful building and tasteful decor. Could do with: 1. A shop on site. We had to go to Tossa for drinks, crisps, jamon etc and floaties, could have done with this on site. 2. A wider lunch provision than pizza for the non-all inclusivers. 3. Personally I could have done without EUROHOUSE PISCINA AEROBICS every lunchtime but I get many do enjoy it. Just a lovely simple, peaceful, joyful hotel.

Just got back from here, had a brilliant time. As the last review stated, it's not for groups of lads/girls but ideal for families. The room was really clean, beds very comfy. Sheets changed each day of our 7 day stay. I took pool shoes for my 5yr old and they were needed as the pool floor was quite rough. No lilos in the pool whilst the lifeguard is on duty so don't waste your money unless you go in after the LG has gone. We got a taxi down to Tossa each day. Was 20 euros for 6 of us. If you know you are arriving after 12pm, make sure you have something to drink in the room. We arrived at 4am and had nowhere to buy a drink. We flew to Barcelona and got a transfer which was awful, they just leave you at the main bus station (we didn't know this) and luckily, taxis were available. We ended up getting a private taxi back (165 euros) for mini bus style coach. We were self catering but they do offer all inc. We paid for breakfast one day, plenty of food and lots of choice of drinks. There were always beds available, entertainment was good and people were friendly. Not many English but we didn't go for that!

We stayed as a family 2 adults , 4 teenagers. Firstly 99% of the staff we encountered where friendly and helped if needed ie finding out the bus schedule, paying for a late check out room. We had one of the "renovated rooms", this was adequate for what we needed shower, change and sleep... it still looked a little run down though shower was broken it didn't sit in the shower hold therefore we had to try and prop it and rest it in-between the pole and wall. the "mini bar" advertised was just a small fridge it wasn't stocked with anything...the kettle was broken/smashed, there was only one plug in the living/dining area. Cleaners did come in every day but I'm not sure what they did? She asked us to take all our belongings off the floor to make it easier for her but the floor definitely wasn't cleaned throughout our stay, towels where replaced and bins emptied, but again not toilet roll and we had to ask for this. Food- standard all inclusive buffet like everywhere , always chips and pasta out , chicken----this is a huge issue there where kebabs and fillets off the grill and both times neither where cooked. Snack bar- started off "ok" crisps, bits left over from breakfast, ham cheese, bread but the last few days of our holiday no bread out and had to ask for it- which seemed a big inconvenience to i presume the manager/owner older man , short with dark hair his presence when we saw him around was not friendly at all and ice-creams where never restocked. Pizza buffet- so on our booking when we checked in we had dates to go in given on 31st August and 3rd September when my partner when to check on this for the 3rd September as the sign was covered over outside ,reception said it had actually finished/closed... This was Disappointing. Drinks- Several drinks ran out several times in both restaurant and bar and where just covered over on the machines. I'm not sure if the issues raised above where because they are "slowing down" for the season but it was disappointing we came in the last week of the UK summer holidays. Bus- the bus ran as there schedule we used it several days and was no issues was very handy. There where only 3/4 English family's here us included but this was not an issue for us we don't go to "make friends" , Pool/sunbeds- there was no issue any morning to get a sunbed we went some days at 10.30 and could easily get 6 beds together. The pool was adequate with a splash area for smaller children, our girls took floats and had no issues using these neither did other children. There was an medical issue with a gentleman near the bar area one day and i can not commend the staff enough , the life guard was quick acting and saw to him and the reception staff got an ambulance - they really did do great! Entertainment- there was something on every night bingo/quiz/kids disco, we just struggled as most nights there where only the odd word in English but we sat out had a couple of drinks all the less. don't deserve it 13 complaints put on mail . it's not worth the money wait for response from your side. no response then it will be made public and all offices will be sent an email (tui, neckermann, booking and etc) I have proposed to you by email.

There's a few things I'll cover here. Firstly, one of the 1 star reviews states they arrived at 11am but were not allowed to use the all inclusive - that's because you can't check in yet! Check in information is clearly stated on the booking, so don't arrive early! The fact that your flight was early and you are there already is not the hotels problem - arrive and check in at the correct time! The food is ok - quite a lot of fish dishes. Upon arrival you'll need to pay an additional fee for the drinks at meal times (if you only book half board like we did), but you can make the most of this by having bottles of wine from the fridge and as many glasses of San Miguel as you can gulp down. This is really a family hotel, so wouldn't suggest it for a couple or a group of girls/lads. The entertainment and language is mostly Spanish and French, which is ideal because it seems to keep the annoying 'Brits' away - you won't find chicken nuggets and beans on the menu here. Rooms are ok, and like most budget hotels in Spain they are a bit tired, but you're still able to shower and sleep, so what more do you want from a room? There's a deposit for the TV remote, but who is going on holiday to Spain to sit and watch TV in their room!? Pools are good, clean and well monitored by the life guards. Sadly they big pool had to close twice during our short stay because someone was letting their child drop some bum-nuggets in the water. Yuck. Overall, we'd stay again, knowing it's a budget hotel. 20 minute walk (adult pace) down to Tossa - 30 min walk with children. Easy to do unless you're lazy. Don't book a rural hotel if you're expecting tat-shops, arcades and bars outside the front door.

We returned this year after a bad experience last time. After a satisfactory response and action from the hotel manager, we decided to return as we had never had problems before and was impressed with how it was dealt with. I think this was our 16th time here. That shows you how much this hotel ticked so many boxes for us The food was SO much better. We had the gold bands and the drinks were great. So much better booking with hotel. Temperature of food was better. The staff in the restaurant, bar and reception were their usual fantastic selves. Sergi in the restaurant is amazing. Isabel in reception and her team were helpful, polite and welcoming. Cleaners were great and rooms were spotless. The entertainment team this year were not like the usual medplaya teams. Walked past us many times without even saying hello, did no shows themselves. Literally all they did was host quizzes and do minidisco. I would love to send medplaya management some videos i have of pervious years at this hotel with the animacion crews. At one point me and my son tried to ask Juan and Antonio what was on that evening, if anything, and i even touched Antonios arm- they both ignored us and walked over to sit with a spanish family. Nome of the entertainment was in English or even announcements so it was hard to join in. The bus was also an issue. It used to run from 8.45 , then 10 then hourly except 2 hrs in afternoon, and it ran until 9pm. Now its less frequent and last bus is 6.30. It cost us so much in taxis. My son literally cried when we were leaving as he loves the place and the staff but more so because he was worried we couldn't return because of the changes.

I cannot express enough how upset I feel. I have just returned from here after a 2wk holiday. We have been around 16 times and loved the place. Last time we went before covid, we had some issues but the manager of san eloy dealt with it well and we decided to return. After 2 years of no holidays we were so excited to get back. We had the most amazing welcome from reception, bar staff and Sergi in the restaurant. These staff members are AMAZING. My son cried when we were leaving because he feels so at home here. The food has improved immensely, EFKs and air con units make the restaurant more comfortable and little bits around have been renovated. HOWEVER, this year things changed and Medplaya have made some huge mistakes. The bus is the biggest issue. The hotel is not close to anything and was fine when it had a courtesy bus. It has one but only couple times and finishing really early so it costs so much in taxis to go anywhere. This is ridiculous- it wouldn't cost them much to run a frequent bus service from 9am to 9pm with a 2 hr break in afternoon like they used to. The entertainment- shocking. Main entertainment was a quiz. We have been so many times and enjoyed shows bybthe entertainment team and outside companies. This entertainment team were different- not sure what they're paid for. They hosted a quiz and did minidisco. Thats it. The hotel now excludes English and even when the entertainer asked what countries we were from he continued to direct EVERY bit of entertainment in french and spanish so we couldn't get involved. If we had our little one with us they wouldn't have understood the staff telling the children what to do. Also on one occassion we tried to ask Juan and Antonio what entertainment was on that night, if any, and i even touched antonios arm, and they totally ignored us to walk off and sit with a spanish family. They used to play music in the day. Medplaya friends song used to start the day and there was a holiday / party feel day and night. This wasn't the case this year. Why can't they just keep the entertainment and bus as it was? Now we won't be able to book again as we wont know whats happening with these two factors. We went ro see another hotel in town but we are so upset to lose what we love about San Eloy and we had a great night on Wednesday with a fab singer and the bar staff getting involved with us and having sich a laugh. As I said, my son was crying because he didnt want to leave , he loves the staff and worries we won't return. Again Sergi , the restaurant staff, reception staff and bar staff are amazing. Maintenance, cleaning and pool staff all work hard and say hola. Even the lifeguards are super friendly. On many occassions this year's entertainment team walked past and didnt even say hello to us, where every other year the staff have. I really hope Medplaya put the entertainment and bus back to how it was as it would make things perfect, but tbey are two things that can really spoil the holid
