Le Belvedere

Fabulous!!! My wife and I were looking for a base to stay for 11 days in the Perigord / North Dordogne to allow us to explore the area and found this fantastic "petit chateau" on the outskirts of Thiviers. A large villa in its own extensive garden with plenty of space in which to relax. William the host and Joseph the chef were very friendly, relaxed and attentive. Evening meals (on request) were delightful and freshly prepared and enjoyed sat on the patio by the outdoor pool - we ate with them for 7 nights. William is a knowledgeable host having worked extensively in the hotel and hospitality trade in both France and the UK. He will ensure that you are well looked after and may even tell you a tale or two from his exploits over the years. We will definitely be returning.

We had a lovely stay here. Felt like a retreat. Beautiful grounds and William was a great host. We had dinner the first night which was wonderful and the wine so smooth! Would recommend this to anyone wanting to stay in the area. Beds were huge and very comfortable. Gardens were so pretty and well kept.

40 years old house with a serious need of new decoration and maintenance Lovely and very comfy bed however the bathroom, the light in the room, lack of proper curtains and poor room decoration does not make it right for the price Food is good but does not meet the standard for a 45 euros'meal The hospitality's rules mean that the guest should feel comfortable and not the owner. Le Belvedere is a bit tricky to find but worth persevering. William the co-owner (along with Joseph we think) was charm itself and showed us to the most delightful room. Large, and with exquisite period furniture. The dining room was a joy with some fascinating period artifacts. We had three meals there, apart from breakfasts and the food was glorious - chicken, duck and guinea fowl exquisitely cooked and presented.William was a wonderful host, spoke perfect English for us and gave us the added pleasure of a tour of the 2.4 hectare garden. The gardens are still work in progress but still interesting nevertheless. We had 4 nights here, in a large very comfortable bed with wonderful views over the gardens. Has to be seen to be believed. I'm sure if you stay here you won't regret it.

Nous sommes venus dans le cadre d’un déplacement professionnel. Accueil sympathique et confort au rendez-vous. William est attentif et prévenant. Une bonne adresse avec une bonne cuisine. Tout était prêt pour notre arrivée et les consignes étaient claires pour le départ.

Une nuit passée au calme dans ce bel établissement . Lit confortable . Salle de bains avec WC ( aération difficile) Compte tenu du temps médiocre , on nous a fait comprendre qu’il était préférable de ne pas se promener dans le parc ( afin de de pas salir le sol ou les tapis!) Repas en couple sans autres convives dans la salle . Conversation intéressante « alimentée « par un propriétaire des lieux sympathique mais un peu trop présent ,ce qui nuit un peu à l’intimité d’un dîner à deux! Repas à 35€ assez bon et copieux ( choix limité) . Apéritif et vins proposés ( sans indication du prix) Au total , bref séjour agréable . À noter : Sonnette cassée à l’entrée .Grille fermée (nécessité de téléphoner afin de convenir d’une heure pour pouvoir déposer les bagages!)

Tous les commentaires que vous pouvez voir sur Google sont faits de toutes pièces Le responsable des lieux : une plaie Il n est pas du tout professionnel Nous avons dû avec 2 autre couples nous dresser la table pour le petit dejeuner Un repas à 40euros qui ne vaut pas plus que 25 au max Le maître des lieux a toujours une bonne excuse quand quelque chose ne va pas Des restes d apéro qui traîne sur un muret, une piscine pas propre, le TPE qui traîne au son dans la salle à manger HORRIBLE
