I had high expectations of Capella Sydney after staying multiple times at Capella Bangkok and being treated as though I were the most important person in the hotel, just like all of the other guest who stay there are. The attention to service detail at Sydney location unfortunately failed very short to meet my expectations. The booking process on the website was glitchy and the pricing was inconsistent, sometimes showing pricing including tax sometimes not without indication and only upon receiving confirmation via email from reservations was the price confirmed, which did not match the screenshots of the reservation when I placed the booking so I had to go back and forth with reservations via phone and email to simply confirm the accurate pricing for my stay. After creating an account to log on to their booking platform although the option of modifying the booking was offered, the feature did not work on the site, so you had to cancel the booking and book a new booking if you simply wanted to extend by 1 day. This is before I even arrived at the hotel. When I did arrive, it is of course, no small feat that the restoration of this historic building was carried out with the utmost respect for the architecture, from the flooring material to the fenestration and even the internal grand stair way was brilliantly retro-fitted with current code requirements for the handrail in a historically appropriate yet contemporary solution. The hotel does not have many floors, so I encourage anyone to take the stairs to experience the beauty of the restoration work. The recognition of the strong identity of the urban location and sense of place in Sydney’s CBD offers us a promise, an encounter, as the space of the possible. I wish I could say the same about the interior design. There was a real disconnect between the intent of the architecture and that of the interior design. The decoration at best seemed vague, and so for the guest experience, how could one of have a point of view about the effect of the design? The space of the expectant “possible” relationship I was expecting from the simple activity of stepping into Farrer Place’s south entryway marked Department of Agriculture, as local stories interpreting colonial history with ancestral elements of the Eora people by Waayni artist Judy Watso unfolded, or the sense of expansive freedom through the bronze Palazzo doors on Loftus Street into the latent quiet luxury of the grand stair was lost when I was met with the contrasting designs and colours of the lift lobby vestibule axminster carpet and that of the corridor carpet to the guest rooms, able to be seen in the same frame. This is one of the most luxurious hostels you could stay in. It is beautifully designed, but in the dormitories they will never look like the photos unless you are the only one in there (or the other people staying in there are really tidy with their possessions!). This is the definition of the meme: expectation vs reality. The private room is incredible, it felt like a hotel room - just without an ensuite. Breakfast was fine, but disappointing. Beggars can't be choosers; but, why was there no fruit? Your options were tea and coffee, toast and cereal - that was about it. That staff were competent and helpful regarding matters of admin, but not as friendly and chatty as other hostels I have stayed in. Cleaning could be improved. Down the side of my dorm bed there were used Cotton Buds, tissues, and other detritus which was not pleasant when checking nothing had fallen down the side of my bed before checking out. The Goki experience was unique and modern, somewhat of a fan of that over keycards or keys. Overall pretty good, but don't expect the most social experience - if you are a solo traveller after making friends, there are better hostels I would recommend over this one. If you are travelling as a couple or with friends, this would be great.

Zimmer variieren in Ausstattung und Preis: Ich nahm ein 5th-floor Zimmer mit Blick auf die QVB, kein offenes Fenster, zwei Betten, kleiner, aber nicht weniger Platz als ich brauchte; Aufzug. Ich hatte einen speziellen Preis, in einer „downtime“ für die Gastfreundschaftsindustrie. Das war ein erster Besuch: Das Hotel erfüllte meine Qualitätserwartungen, insbesondere für einen Budget Traveler.

We stayed for two nights at the end of May. Our room was quiet & clean even if in need of a refurbish, which presumably, going by the building works going on, is in progress. The building works didn't impinge on our stay at all. Our breakfast (which was included in our room rate), was surprisingly good. The area it was served in was very clean and bright. We found all the staff to be pleasant. Being able to checkin & checkout on line made things move quicker, especially the checkout. The cost of accommodation in the city is very high so we were pleased that Song Hotel was a bit more affordable to us.

On the ambience side, the decor and modern-ish art was uplifting and fun. The room was very clean. But, we were surprised to find the room so small. In order for 2 people to get into the bed, one had to crawl over the other. The very small window sill became the nightstand. There was no room for luggage, and no luggage racks - we were told they didn’t have enough. That meant one suitcase on the floor and one on the very small plastic table. The retro-refrigerator was cool, but my traveling companion kept threatening to move it out into the hall to create some space in the room the whole time we were there. And then, the very small bathroom, the shower door doubled as the door to the bathroom. Have you ever looked into a microwave? The shower and the bathroom walls had the same dot matrix pattern as a microwave door. My companion was surprised to see while showering she could see me relaxing on the bed, and when she screamed “can you see me?” I replied “yes”. My companion now has bathroom-PTSD. Not only was the shower see through, there was a full-room-view sitting on the throne, trying to do your business. Then the realization somebody may be watching. PTSD! Our solution was to use the downstairs public bathroom for major activities. Did I mention IBS???

The hotel was very affordable and conveniently located, right in the CBD. Everything worked as it should, A/C was very good and much needed during our stay. The staff were very friendly. The rooms are a little on the small side, and the bathroom a little dated. No real issues to speak of, we would definitely stay there againa.

Ich bin alleine gereist und habe das Hostel für meinen 4-tägigen Aufenthalt in Sydney gewählt. Die Lage ist großartig!!! 20 Minuten mit dem Zug vom Flughafen entfernt, viele Bahn- und Bushaltestellen in der Umgebung. Das Frühstück ist nicht so toll, Joghurt, Müsli, Croissants, Muffins, Toast, einige Dosenfrüchte, Tee, Kaffee (12 $). In diesem Hostel ist etwas passiert, was mir noch nie passiert ist. Ich habe einige meiner Klamotten auf dem Bett liegen lassen, der Keep Housing hat meine Bettwäsche gewechselt und meine Klamotten weggenommen. Obwohl ich noch 2 Nächte hatte. Die beste Entscheidung (das haben sie gesagt) war, dass sie mir einen Gutschein für das Frühstück gegeben haben, lmao!!!! Ich bin immer wieder gekommen und habe gefragt, ob sie meine Klamotten gefunden haben, aber sie haben sie nicht gefunden und am letzten Tag, als ich schon abreiste, sagten sie, okay, wir können die Polizei rufen, wenn ich dieses Problem lösen will. Das ist lächerlich! 2 Tage lang haben sie nichts getan, jedes Mal, wenn ich zur Rezeption kam, waren andere Mitarbeiter da und es war ziemlich schwierig, einen Manager zu finden! Wenn Sie sich also entscheiden, hier zu bleiben, lassen Sie alle Ihre Sachen im Schließfach. Das Vorhängeschloss kostet 6 $. Es gibt Waschmaschinen und Trockner, die ich nicht benutzt habe, aber soweit ich mich erinnere, etwa 8 $. Die Kakerlake war auf Küchenhöhe, so groß wie mein Daumen.

Die Lage ist großartig, neben dem Bahnhof. Das Zimmer ist sauber. In der Nähe liegt Chinatown, wo Sie verschiedene Köstlichkeiten finden und auch viele verschiedene Arten von günstigen Souvenirs kaufen können. Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig und die Umgebung ist eine Empfehlung wert!

It is better than expected and a nice hotel. Lots of social areas inside, etc on level 1, a gaming room with tables so people can hang out and eat. The room designs are modern and super clean! Honestly the housekeeping team do a great job and reception are helpful. For those who are staying for a while - there are no washing machines or dryers in rooms so you must cash out your money and convert to coins to use the machines in the Laundry room on Level 1 ($4 per cycle).It’s also right next to the shopping centre where you can walk across etc Coles. Lots of parking available ($10 extra per day btw). Amenities topped up each day with extra water bottles & daily express cleaning done by housekeeping too. There’s also a bbq area on rooftop level & forgot to mention - in rooms you can completely hear conversations in the hallways. If you don’t like noise just keep in mind you will hear people talking outside your door💀 Also the pictures are of the Queen Bed Room. But either way would say it’s pretty good staying here and would definitely recommend.

Erstens ist dieses Hotel perfekt für Geschäftsreisende in die Business Centres von Macquarie Park gelegen. Das Hotel ist 5 Minuten von Büros, Macquarie Centre und Bahnhöfen entfernt. Absolut perfekt für meine Arbeitsreise. Es gab einige positive. Die Zimmer sind gut, komplett, was Sie von einem Geschäftshotel erwarten würden. Bett war komfortabel, es gab ein TV, das ich nie verwendet, Raum für Gepäck und hängen Sie Ihre Kleider, ein Tisch und einen Stuhl etc.. Es geht jedoch von dort hinunter. Ich werde die negativen 1 von 1: 1. Eine Hütte hatte einen sehr starken Geruch, der aus ihr kam. Geruchte wie schlechte Musy BO. Ich musste die Hütte buchstäblich in den Schrank bewegen, da ich den Geruch nicht stand. Das bedeutete jedoch, dass ich diesen gemütlichen Geruch stinken konnte, wenn ich ins Zimmer kam und aus dem Zimmer kam. 2. 1 der gelieferten Badehandtücher hatte ein großes Loch/Tee in ihm. 3. Hausaufbewahrung machte einen Fehler und gab nicht Shampoo, sondern 2 Klimaanlagen. Ganz einfach, ich rief die Rezeption an und sie sagten, ich müsse auf die Rezeption herunterkommen, um es mir selbst zu bekommen. Gut, ging hinunter und gab 1 Flasche Shampoo. Ich ging hoch und ging in die Dusche nur um zu sehen, dass der gegebene Shampoo vorgeöffnet/vorgebraucht war. Schrecklich. Nach meiner Dusche ging ich zurück und sprach mit einem anderen Empfänger, der sich entschuldigt und mir 2 Flaschen Shampoo gegeben hatte. 4. Am zweiten Tag bemerkte ich, dass die Hausaufsicht nicht in die Rezeption gekommen war, so ging ich wieder hinunter und wurde gesagt, dass wegen der COVID, sie nur nach dem dritten Tag Ihres Aufenthalts, die es für mich null und leer machte, Hausaufsicht auf. 5. Das Fitnesszentrum war angemessen, aber sie füllten die Handtücher nicht und ließen die Handtücher nicht regelmäßig rein. Am zweiten Tag hatte ich einen benutzten Handtücher auf der Seite, da der Bin voll war. Am dritten Tag war der Bin noch voll und mein früherer Handtuch noch dort in derselben Position, die ich hinterließ. Am dritten Tag, keine sauberen Handtuchs mehr. 6. Wenn sie sich so besorgt über COVID, würden sie regelmäßiger öffentliche Bereiche wie den Fitnessraum und im Halle, wo ein leeres Glas und eine Tasse für 3 ganze Tage gesetzt werden. Ich kann dieses Hotel nicht an jemandem empfehlen, da ich mich vor allem wegen der Unreinigkeit der öffentlichen Räume mit einer Epidemie beschäftige.
