Das Hotel ist im Vergleich zu normalen Hotels in Sydney ziemlich günstig, da die Preise hier im Allgemeinen sehr hoch sind, wenn man bei der Ibis-Kette über 100 USD pro Nacht bucht.
Dieses Hotel kostet nur 80 AUD und hat schöne, geräumige Zimmer.
Allerdings ist die Rezeption schwer zu finden, wenn man vor 12 Uhr hier ist, und man muss damit rechnen, nach Mitternacht zu schlafen, wenn die Pubs unten am Wochenende gegen 23 Uhr oder 0 Uhr schließen.
Es ist also aus gutem Grund billiger

Excellent location in the CBD within walking distance to nearest train and tram stations. There's a grocery store in the train station that opens until 10pm
No reception, the pub counter is the reception. Barkeep was kind enough to let me check in earlier as the room was ready at that time
Shared bathroom has separate for mens and ladies
Event hall downstairs (lvl 3) can be very loud when there's party esp in weekends so RIP good night sleep. Other than that this hotel is perfect for the price

Noisy. They have a music private bar in the second floor and if they use it theen you wont sleep until 1am. Other than that, the place ia good.

Above Wynyard station in CBD, big room with microwave, fridge etc. sink in room but toilet and shower in corridor, but sparking clean. Comfy bed and $100 only in centre of Sydney. Can only recommend and will stay there again.

Location is super good as it is just like 2-minutes walk away from subway station. If one is ok with shared bathroom, can give this hotel a try.

Best value for the price and location.
On the last day of our stay, my brother said there's broken glasses on the floor of men's toilet (shower room), he stepped on it and had a cut, he's lucky it did not hurt him bad. He swiped the pieces of glasses to the corner before we check out. He'll give it a 2.5 star because of the broken glasses.
My sister would rate a 4 star, the hotel offers free baggage storage for us.
For me, I am REALLY HAPPY for my stay in Occidental Hotel, therefore I would recommend it to budget travellers in groups. 5 star for the price and location.
