Great location, near Town Hall Station. Good breakfast and facilities. Very clean and stylish hotel.

They have accessible room which is great for elderly, toilet is much bigger and the room too Location was really good with a train station right across, small swimming pool, breakfast was decent and not included, check in only one person working at the desk so a bit slow. The only downside is for every room service your order they charge tray fee and this was not explained from the start. First time to encounter this in hotel. So make sure you know what you want to order and only order once. If you forgot to order say drinks and order it after a separate tray charge will be charged on top of the bill for the food /drink

Ich habe vor kurzem im Novotel Sydney auf dem Darling Harbour geblieben und fand die Erfahrung zufriedenstellend. Die Lage des Hotels ist ausgezeichnet, bietet einfachen Zugang zu den Attraktionen des Darling Harbour und bietet eine scenische Aussicht auf die Stadt-Skyline. Das Zimmer war sauber und komfortabel, obwohl die Dekoration etwas datiert erschien und von der Modernisierung profitieren könnte. Das Personal war professionell und freundlich, positiv zum Aufenthalt beigetragen. Die Auswahl des Frühstücks, während ausreichend, fehlte die Vielfalt über mehrere Tage. Insgesamt erfüllte der Aufenthalt grundlegende Erwartungen ohne bedeutende Fragen.

This is an amended review to highlight the ongoing lack of communication from the hotel. It is fair to say that the hotel had some great things going for it but, sadly, customer support is not one of them. Breakfast was excellent and the roof top Aster bar was a great place to enjoy a cocktail and see some spectacular sunsets. However, the whole thing was let down by extremely lacklustre support from the management down. My wife lost her glasses in the hotel. They are prescription reading glasses in very distinct designer frames and were in a sparkly gold box. We asked at the desk during check out if they had been found and were told that they had not been handed in but that reception would check with the Aster bar, where we believe they had been left but was closed at the time of check out. We were due to be in Sydney again in 4 days and the receptionist took all the details and a description of the glasses and case and said that she would email me to give me an update. Sadly we didn’t hear back. Four days later when we returned to Sydney we checked back at the hotel there was no note against our booking and the duty receptionist said nothing could be done but was unable to confirm if a check had been made in the Aster rooftop bar. I asked to speak to the duty manager and an Irish lady, whose name I sadly didn’t get, came out to speak to me. She was very apologetic and said it was not the normal standard we should expect from the hotel and promised to speak to the Aster staff and that she would get back to me by email before the end of the day. Sadly, no further communication was forthcoming and a follow up email to the hotel remains unanswered. We realise that the loss was our fault but the lack of interest from the staff and unfulfilled, empty promises from the management would definitely deter us from staying there again. It would appear that the management have no interest in fostering customer satisfaction.

Unfortunately, this was a quick overnight trip for us, however, the hotel and location is superb and we will definitely return for longer next time!

I had high expectations of Capella Sydney after staying multiple times at Capella Bangkok and being treated as though I were the most important person in the hotel, just like all of the other guest who stay there are. The attention to service detail at Sydney location unfortunately failed very short to meet my expectations. The booking process on the website was glitchy and the pricing was inconsistent, sometimes showing pricing including tax sometimes not without indication and only upon receiving confirmation via email from reservations was the price confirmed, which did not match the screenshots of the reservation when I placed the booking so I had to go back and forth with reservations via phone and email to simply confirm the accurate pricing for my stay. After creating an account to log on to their booking platform although the option of modifying the booking was offered, the feature did not work on the site, so you had to cancel the booking and book a new booking if you simply wanted to extend by 1 day. This is before I even arrived at the hotel. When I did arrive, it is of course, no small feat that the restoration of this historic building was carried out with the utmost respect for the architecture, from the flooring material to the fenestration and even the internal grand stair way was brilliantly retro-fitted with current code requirements for the handrail in a historically appropriate yet contemporary solution. The hotel does not have many floors, so I encourage anyone to take the stairs to experience the beauty of the restoration work. The recognition of the strong identity of the urban location and sense of place in Sydney’s CBD offers us a promise, an encounter, as the space of the possible. I wish I could say the same about the interior design. There was a real disconnect between the intent of the architecture and that of the interior design. The decoration at best seemed vague, and so for the guest experience, how could one of have a point of view about the effect of the design? The space of the expectant “possible” relationship I was expecting from the simple activity of stepping into Farrer Place’s south entryway marked Department of Agriculture, as local stories interpreting colonial history with ancestral elements of the Eora people by Waayni artist Judy Watso unfolded, or the sense of expansive freedom through the bronze Palazzo doors on Loftus Street into the latent quiet luxury of the grand stair was lost when I was met with the contrasting designs and colours of the lift lobby vestibule axminster carpet and that of the corridor carpet to the guest rooms, able to be seen in the same frame. Ein fabulöser Aufenthaltsort in Sydney und in der Nähe der Stadthallstation. Die Zimmer sind modern mit einem guten Badezimmer. Die Parkplätze am Ort sind bequem, obwohl es günstigere Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten in der Nähe gibt. Das Zimmerservicemenü ist groß mit leckerem Essen, aber die Optionen sind sehr begrenzt auf dem späten Nachtmenü. Die Optionen zum Frühstück sind auch gut. Der Außenpool ist groß mit schönen Blicken auf die Stadt, aber es scheint nicht erwärmt zu sein, so dass es im Winter kalt sein kann.

Ich möchte dieses Hotel wirklich lieben, aber als 5-Sterne-Hotel gibt es eine Reihe von grundlegenden Details, die sogar 4-Sterne-Hotels ohne Mühe gemacht werden. Für einen war die Eincheckung überraschend manuell. Ich muss einen Scheck in Form mit meinen Details ausschreiben. Ich dachte, sie hätten schon diese Details aus meiner Buchung, obwohl ich durch einen Dritten gebucht habe. Die meisten Hotels beantragen nur eine Kreditkarte und das ist es. Aber das war im Vergleich zum Zimmertechnikerfahrung fast unbedeutend. Es wurde mir nicht klar gemacht, wie man das WiFi im Vergleich zu anderen Hotels zugreifen, die für eine halbe Stunde stressvolles Versuch, es herauszufinden. Eine Rezeption aus meinem Zimmer dauerte eine ganze Zeit, bis sie auch abholen. Schlimmsten ist, fast alles ausschließlich von einer Tablette kontrolliert. Fernsehschaltung auf und aus, selbst die Volumen- und wechselnde Kanäle müssen alle von einer Tablette gemacht werden (nicht groß, wenn es schwarz ist). Neben der Kontrolle der Lichter und Blinden. Ich arbeite in der Technik und das ist ein klassischer Fall von Übertechnik. Gib dem Gäste zumindest eine zweite Option für physische Kontrollen oder Fernsehfernsehgeräte, denn das ist einfacher als sie zu einem Experten für Ihren eigenen Raumkontrollen zu zwingen, wenn sie entspannen sollten. Schließlich haben sie ein schönes Restaurant - Dixson und Sons. Aber die Öffnungszeiten sind zu begrenzt. Es ist nicht jeden Tag oder zum Mittagessen geöffnet und scheint zu früh um 9 Uhr statt etwa 10 oder 10.30pm zu schließen. Die gleichen Beschränkungen gelten für den Zimmerservice. Die letzten 2 Fragen scheinen sich als Ergebnis von ihnen vielleicht zu versuchen, kosteneffizienter zu sein, um ein hohes Ende zu sein, aber ich fühle mich, es ruiniert die Erfahrung. Wenn sie sie lösen könnten, würde ich gerne mehr oft hierher kommen, was ich wirklich möchte. Aber ich fühlte mich gestohlen von einer entspannten und erfreulichen Erfahrung durch die komplizierten technischen und begrenzten Restaurantstunden.

Über die Erwartungen hinaus kann dieser Preis in der Nähe der Hafenbrücke und des Sydney Opera House leben, wirklich zu viel als inländisches Rechnungsabschluss. Die Hafenlandschaft Suite Veiw ist ungeschützt. Der einzige Nachteil ist, dass es morgens internationale Segelschiffe geben wird. Aber es ist ein paar Sekunden vorbei, und es ist nichts anderes als ein Erlebnis.

War 2 Nächte mit Frau und Sohn während des Osternbreaks. Sehr gut und gemütlich Hotel. Freundliche Mitarbeiter. Schwimmbad war beschäftigt, wünschen Sie es größere. Frühstück war großartig. Preise waren vernünftig, perfekt für unseren Haushalt.
