You enter through a side door of the large coach house doors into a courtyard housing two old carriages. And that sets the scene for the rest of the house. It is a lived in piece of history, wide marble staircase leading to the bedrooms, sitting room and breakfast room used by guests. But along the way you will be passing some excellent old furniture, chairs, cabinets housing porcelain etc etc, it is like a small museum. But with the bright friendly welcoming charm of the lovely owners. The gardens are similarly large and attractive with a lovely swimming pool for cooling off and relaxing after a period sightseeing. Breakfast was an extensive array of a choice of cereals, choice of yoghurts, cheese, ham, three types of bread, hot croissants, cake, butter, choice of jams, fresh fruit bowl of kiwi, plums, cherries, nectarine and a separate plate with raspberries and blackberries, a jug of orange juice and tea or coffee. More than enough for an excellent start to the day served in a dining room furnished and decorated in the style of the grand country house that this is.
