Clean, quiet and comfortable. Owner was very accommodating when we had a health-related cancellation. Continental Breakfast selection was poor.

The owner of this motel greeted us and was very friendly and helpful. She made sure that we had everything we needed. The rooms were very quaint and reminded you of the era of Route 66. Everything was clean and well-kept. Only coffee and muffins were supplied for breakfast, but we were OK with that as we are trying out diners along Route 66. Would definitely recommend and stay again if we pass through Carlinville,

We were very skeptical when booking for one wedding night. Honestly, it was way less sketchy than we'd anticipated.
The gal at the front desk was INCREDIBLE and I immediately felt like we'd made a good choice. We had a king room in the back of the far west building and it was very quiet, overlooking a pond. The building and rooms are very outdated and in need of remodeling, HOWEVER: our room and the building were very clean, homey, and perfect!
I truly would stay here again if ever in the area. I definitely give it an overall score of 5/5.

Stayed for 1 night recently when in town to visit friends. Room was kept impeccably clean, and was a good size, although was a bit dated in style. Beds were quite comfortable and linen was clean, however the window mounted aircon was very loud, with it being too hot to sleep without it. Breakfast on offer was coffee and a muffin, however there is a diner offering breakfast across the road. There was no iron in the room, however front desk did supply one to us to use. Considering the size of the town, it was a comfortable place to stay for the night, but don't have high expectations of Holiday Inn/Hyatt/Hilton!

This motel needs lots of maintenance. Several signs saying to do this or not do that to make things work. It's very dated. Looks like 60's decor. This was probably a very nice motel 30 years ago. Breakfast was a pot of coffee and little packaged cupcakes.
There was plenty of hot water and the AC worked fine but was a loud window unit stuck in the wall. The folks running the place were very nice and when I asked for a hair dryer, they immediately provided one bringing it to my room. I liked Carlinville. Great pizza place north of the square, etc. but I don't think I'd stay in the Carlin Villa again.

We had a great stay! Came to town for a late concert and decided to stay for the evening then drive home the following morning. We checked in at almost midnight and the gentleman was still in the office to greet us. Our room was quaint but exactly as the pictures showed. Very clean and we slept well. Would highly recommend staying here.
