This is a gem of a stay in Rome. I give it 5 stars based on the friendly and helpful host, Loreto. He made our stay so easy, was very informative, had our room ready early for us, and helped with our luggage. We asked for food recommendations upon our check in and he walked us to it, and returned to find our friend and escorted her to it as well! He also gave us a map and spent about 5 minutes showing us how to get to key places in Rome from the hotel. I’ve stayed various places in Rome and this was by far my fave! I will stay again. It’s a boutique 4 room stay in an old building (like many Rome accommodations). The room is very clean and basic amenities are provided. The beds are true European style so fairly hard but comfortable and plenty of extra bedding is provided. The old character and charm coupled with the location of this hotel were perfect for us. It’s not a 5-star luxury hotel, but it’s a true European experience for a great price at a great location. It was clean and safe and had AC and heat that worked really well! Literally a block from the colosseum and two blocks from the metro station. Things to be aware of: the building does have an elevator but it doesn’t go to the very bottom floor of the courtyard. The hotel is on the first floor so it’s really not that big of a deal other than getting luggage up and down. Loreto helped us though so it was no problem. The shower is a little slippery but has groves in it and a slider is built in for easy entry and exit.
