Hotel Califfo

Große Probleme, da das Hotel trotz Annahme der Buchung geschlossen war. Das Problem wurde dank der Intervention des Kundendienstes der Agentur Trip.com gelöst.

Eine tolle Lage, ruhige Gegend, Supermarkt und Bushaltestellen in der Nähe. Nettes Personal, obwohl die meisten kein Englisch sprechen. Essen mittelmäßig, viel Süßes zum Frühstück. Poolbereich schön, aber keine Bar und viele Treppen. Zimmer okay, keine Badewanne, aber sauber. Mir gefiel die fehlende Schallisolierung vom Flur oder anderen Zimmern oder die Räder unter den Betten nicht?? Die Reinigungskräfte nahmen auch volle Gläser mit und ersetzten sie nicht einmal. Keiner von beiden bekam Seife. Aber wir hatten eine schöne Zeit bei dem sehr heißen Wetter!

Our room 6 in the residence building was spacious. The bathroom was nice, plenty of towels, great water pressure in the shower, but ran out of hot water when showering easily. Ants in the clothing cabinet and also on the floor near it and near the foot of the bed. Kitchen functional, but the only frying pan was old scratched Teflon. Stove and pan not suitable for cooking steaks. Bed not very comfortable. Hot tub near the pool did not work. Appearance of hotel is that it needs updating. Staff friendly/helpful. I sent a message to the hotel through ******* asking if they could send my husband's swim trunks to us (forgot them in the bathroom). We would gladly pay postage. No response from the hotel. Disappointed in that.

Unfortunately, this hotel is situated between a busy road and a very ugly, large stoned beach, which is accessible via a very dirty and unattractive housing estate. You have to cross the busy road to get to the bus stop if you want to go into Cagliari, but first need to buy your tickets from the tobacconists. The road is extremely dangerous to cross, as there are no traffic lights only zebra crossings, and you feel as if you are taking your life into your own hands every time you cross it, particularly as so few drivers appear to want to stop for you at all! This is also unfortunate, because there is a restaurant on the other side of that road, which offers considerably better food than the hotel. The breakfast at the hotel was the same thing every morning. Pastries that didn't look or taste fresh. No cold milk for the cereal and 2 types of cheap meat with the same tasteless cheese. Nor was the fruit juice fresh, which is the least I would expect in a hotel that claims to be of such a high standard. The staff in the hotel were always pleasant, but on asking for more milk in my hot chocolate, I was shocked to find that whilst I had been given just that, they hadn't the sense to ensure the drink was reheated! Lukewarm hot chocolate is not pleasant! On another occasion, we asked for tea and they forgot the tea bag! One evening we ate dinner in the hotels restaurant. The price was €25 per head, and once again we were disappointed. A lack of choice. Food items that didn't go well together. Small portions, and no fresh vegetables to accompany our main course. The food was also lukewarm! With such food on offer, and the high cost of eating out at other nearby eateries (I think there were 2), it's no wonder we saw people coming back to the hotel with takeaway burgers and pizza, which of course, they were not permitted to eat on the hotel's terrace, so had to retreat to their rooms in order to consume it! As trying the local cuisine plays an important role for me, this didn't seem like much of a holiday and added further to my disappointment! Thankfully, we were only in this hotel for a week, but this felt like too long! The internal decoration inside the hotel was a bit dated, but there was some lovely art work displayed in the main communal areas, which provided a much needed lift from the look of the rest of it - including the rooms. Our room was immaculate- as was the whole of the hotel - however, it lacked a modern feel and was also lacking in basic maintenance. The shower head holder fell out of the wall on the first evening, and the towel rail looked as if it was soon to follow. We informed reception, and both matters were dealt with the next day. We also used the hotel's pool a few times during our stay, and it's presence was definitely a bonus given the ugliness of the nearby beach. This was probably the worst experience for myself and my child. We was bitten every night by bedbugs. My sons body is cover up in bites. I was woken with leaks in my bedroom pouring down from the ceiling to the extent I had to put a bucket and towels on the floor. Breakfast was the worst. For the 10 nights we were there. My son was unable to eat breakfast. When I complained about this, the staff was very rude and unhelpful. This hotel should be shut down. Not even a kettle for tea in the rooms or a bottle of water with glass. We practically met an empty room upon our arrival.

I am very disappointed about Callifo Hotel, no Wifi Connect in my room during my 6 day stayed. My son stood in the corridor to get wifi connect to his tablet every day. The staff were not friendly, poor breakfast in the morning not much variety, cold coffee no tropical fruits, just basic cakes and biscuits. the bath towels stink.

nothing can be worst than this - we checked in on 2nd June presenting our documents, and checked out 4th June when the documents were not returned (silly me not asking for them) - when we reached the airport, we realized and rang the reception - we were reassured that they would have been delivered asap - missing a passport can be very bad, especially when you are traveling abroad for business - documents never appeared into my postbox - I rang repeatedly and I was reassured they had been posted - documents reached me only today and the envelop is stamped 20th June. They lied repeatedly, were unable to track my passport, and put it into the post as ordinary mail. Miserable: bad communication, poor management, complete lack of care for customers - please don't go there - ever!

Very good visit. The only bad thing was wifi which was terrible. It is not far from the beach poetto (10mins by bus) and there is clean swimming pool available. Food is usually good, with breakfast as buffet.
